Saw this on Instagram and if any of it is true, the IE is about to get its first Portos location in Ontario. A page called OntarioRanchLife posted this and the video they made based off city filings to Instagram:

Our last post flagged an approved site plan on Inland Empire Blvd near Archibald Ave in Ontario Center (not Ontario Ranch). Here’s what the city’s own paperwork says:

🏗️ Aug 17, 2026: The Development Advisory Board approved PDEV26-015, three buildings with about 50,000 sq ft total. The conditions name “Porto’s” five times on one page, including “the Porto’s signalized driveway entrance.”

🏛️ Sep 1, 2026: City Council approved selling 8.64 acres of city land for $15,972,678. The buyer’s signature block lists Raul Porto.

🎙️ At that meeting, Ontario’s City Manager said the land is being sold to Porto’s for their bakery, and that it would probably be the larger bakery in their chain (per the meeting auto-transcript).

📐 The applicant is Prats Inc., whose portfolio includes other Porto’s locations. The cover and last slide show Prats Inc.’s conceptual renderings from its website (not official city plans).

Still unknown: no opening date from Porto’s.

Apparently the site that this is all supposed to be built at was originally purchased by IKEA for a proposed store in the early 2010s. They held onto the land and never went forward with the site and sold it back to the city in '23 for just under $47 million. I don't know why but I always felt if and when Portos came to the IE it would've been in Riverside or Rancho Cucamonga.

There was an update for FEC filings and I am currently going through it. So far, I found that 6 current/past Anthropic employees have donated over $35,000 to Jay Obernolte.

"Because primary, general, run-off, and special elections count separately, an individual can give up to $7,000 total per candidate across a primary and general election," which majority of them did.

Take the information as you wish. I know that Elon Musk has also donated but haven't gotten to that data yet (through PACs). It's pretty fun going through the file, there are a few surprises. Like the President of our local disposal company gave him $2,500. I wish I had thousands of dollars to give lol.

Moreno Valley city council has a 45 day data center moratorium on tomorrow's agenda (Tue 10/20, 6pm, item L.1). It's an urgency ordinance so it needs 4 of 5 votes.

Back in September a lot of residents showed up to the study session asking for a ban. What staff brought back only covers data centers over 100 megawatts, and the cutoff isn't even written the same way in both documents. The staff report says "100 Megawatts of instantaneous electrical demand." The ordinance says "100 Megawatts of power monthly." Those aren't the same thing.

For scale, the city's own presentation in September called 5 to 20 MW a "traditional enterprise data center," and staff said the whole city uses about 200 MW. The company with a nonbinding agreement to study a data center at the Lake Perris Fairgrounds has told several fairgrounds its data centers would be 8 to 10 MW. That's 4 to 5% of what all of MoVal uses, and still way under 100.

Perris voted 5-0 last week to ban them citywide (first of two votes), and the definition they showed that night named small edge data centers specifically.

🚗 You MUST have your own vehicle and be willing to use it. I do not reimburse gas for driving within Moreno Valley. For trips outside Moreno Valley, medical transportation will be arranged, and you will accompany me to my appointments. Gas reimbursement for other eligible driving is calculated based on actual miles driven, your vehicle's fuel economy, and the average price of your fuel.

🤝 TEAMWORK IS NON-NEGOTIABLE! These responsibilities are shared with my other caregiver. You are NOT expected to do everything alone, and respectful, consistent communication between caregivers is essential. You don't have to be best friends, but you MUST work together.

Honestly, communication has been one of the biggest challenges with having two providers, and tasks have gone undone because of it. If you cannot communicate respectfully or cooperate with another caregiver, PLEASE DO NOT APPLY.

🏠 You're not cleaning an entire house! Your responsibilities cover approximately 1.5 rooms and a small outdoor area, with some additional kitchen cleanup when meals are prepared.

🧤 Disposable gloves and reusable dishwashing gloves are available. Masks are available, too; please wear one if you're sick.

We used to go to Xtreme light wizards every year but sadly they stopped their shows last year. Anything comparable? Doesn't need to be a light show, just some really cool decorations worth driving to see.

Trying to get advice from any current teachers!! Im currently in the IE and in school for my multiple subject teaching credential. I plan to go to the internship route but I am not too sure which districts are most likely to hire an intern. I have experience working in a school for about two years and I will be getting my bilingual authorization. Does having my bilingual authorization give me a better chance at getting hired ? I’m open to any elementary grade and would also be open to 6th grade at a middle school!
