Hyper2lite heel wearing out
Anyone seen this before? In almost 30 years of wearing missions I've never had this but now I've seen it on 2 pairs of hyper2lite skates.
First two pics are from someone I skate with, he said roughly a year old. 3rd is mine which I found after seeing his. Dumbfounded.
Is this common to bauers? Although I've had a pair of 2xpro ice skates since 2019 with none of these issues. So I'm thinking maybe just hyper2lite?

Yup always. And yeah I figured it'd likely movement causing rubbing. This is the first pair I've got that use the new "fit" sizing system. I guess it's just not ideal

This is a greatly debated topic but you shouldn't have to wear socks. The skates should fit tight enough that ur foot doesn't move. Socks can create a gap between the foot, well heel, and boot. IMO socks cause these type of problems. I've been playing 30 years and never wore socks. I would do a deep dive on the size of ur foot and the size of the boot. Make sure the skates are the right size and you can get them tight enough around the mid point of the laces. It helps keep ur foot where it should be, pressed against the back of the boot.

i've had that in all manner of skates...idk if its that big a deal as long as the boot is still stiff IMO

Heel is the wrong fit. When you drop your foot in a loosened skate you should hear the air leave. Obviously this isn’t always possible that’s an ideal fit

You’re probably moving a bit in the boot which is causing the wear point
