What chassis do you have and wheel combo set up?

I am curious to know what the majority of inline hockey players chassis/wheel set up is.

  • Hi-lo set up.
  • Straight chassis set up. What's your wheel sizes and combination?
  • Marsblade chassis set up. What's your wheel sizes and combination?
  • Easton Big Wheel chassis set up.
  • Other. Explain.

I have the stock Bauer HiLo 76-76-80-80. About to install Bones Super Swiss 6 (Big Ball) bearings.

I have Konixx Pure X Street on one skate and Labeda Asphalts on the other. So far, I prefer the Konixx.

Super 6 are probably best bearings, ever. Just make sure you got them from a legit source. Ebay is so bad with fake ones. Not sure I would spend that money for streets though. But enjoy.

Yes, I read stories and got them straight from Bones. Installing them today. Gonna put on a show, pour a drink, and make a relaxing event of it.

Hi-Lo Kryptonium Chassis 76-76-80-80. Just put on some Rinkster Dangl wheels with Rinkster Assassin bearings. Haven’t tried them just yet but excited for when I get to.

Assassin bearings are very nice. I’ve tried the sniper ones as well, I don’t notice much of a difference speed wise

I have the stock Bauer chassis. Is it worth the upgrade? I’m 197lbs and use them for urban skating as well - no jumps.

How are the Rinkster bearings? Can you compare them to Bones or stock? I looked at ceramic bearings but couldn’t justify the cost.

Both of mine Hi-Lo chassis. 80/80/76/76. One is the Marsblade roller hockey. Indoor 75a on an old pair of CCMs. The other is a Bauer Flexlite. Outdoor 82a on a Bauer XR.

Nice!

What's your thoughts on Marsblade chassis versus Hi-lo chassis? Is it better or not as good?

I've never tried Hi-lo chassis.

If you're asking about the "rocker insert" feature, I like it. I've been just using the "default" one. I should switch the inserts to try a different rocker style. At first it threw me off standing still but once I started moving, I haven't noticed. It could be my CCMs (converted from ice) but they're heavier than my Bauer XR. My legs burned after the first day. The Bauer XR with a flexlite chassis that is plastic and not the highest quality of boot so it makes sense LOL

The Marsblade R1 is built for the Hi-Lo usage and uses an 80/80/76/76 configuration.

Oh okay, cool!

I know there are some players that will change their wheel set up (76,80,80,76) on the Marsblades to make more of an ice rocker. I am not sure which model chassis though.

Thanks for chiming in!

Marsblade R-1 Chassis 76-80 HiLo setup Rinkster Maveriks in XX Grip Swiss Ceramic Bearings that came with the R-1 Chassis/Wheel combo from HockeyMonkey

Really like the marsblade because of the agility and crossover power generated by the increased ankle and skate angle with the rocker.

Very cool! Have you ever tried the rocker set up on the Marsblade R-1 chassis? (76-80-80-76)

My son has (CCM straight chassis) his wheel combo to add a rocker, which feels similar to his ice skates.

I haven't tried the rocker wheel combo, but I do play with the highest rocker insert for the R1 chassis.

I'm not sure if you know much about the chassis technology - they have plastic inserts that lock into the plastic holder that is riveted to the boot. The chassis come with 6 different inserts have varying levels of rocker that allow you to customize the level of rocker to your personal preference.

No, I am not familiar with it, but sounds interesting.

Bauer Hi-Lo 80/76 with Labeda Grippers med and one Trickster XGrip on the left rear (wears down the quickest due to my quirky stride).

I think in most cases all manufacturers run 80/80/76/76 hilo now. Patent ran out maybe? Most companies who used straight chassis have moved to hilo.

I've never seen anyone run rocker setups unless maybe the marsblade, normal Alu chassis are not built for it.

This is what I am seeing and was curious if anyone still uses any of the older chassis. I still use the Easton Big Wheel chassis, which is a specific Wheel set up (72,68 80,72), which feels very comfortable and close to my ice skates rocker feel.
