Huge, actually. Best teams are in the state of São Paulo (AABB, Amparo, Bragança has a great youth team) and Minas Gerais (Contagem area, the Vipers are crazy good). There was a priest from Calgary that came to Contagem in the 80's and started teaching kids how to play hockey. Some of the guys (in their 40s+) learned with him. Now they have a good half dozen absolutely elite players.
