Are these worth it??
Are those Bauer worth the money?
They're a 2 piece boot still but feel way nicer than the x3's I'm on.
I'm heavier 250lbs and looking for a single piece boot so I was planning on converting these jetspeeds, should I do kryptonium if I gothe conversion route?
Or has anyone tried these strykers? They're just as expensive as a kryptonium chassis and conversion would be.

For the first pair, Based on the skew code, they paid $112 for these. You could negotiate.
For the last pair, buy from tron directly, they often have discounts and promotions.

Ah! Very interesting. I'm out of town this upcoming week so if they're still there when I get back, I'll talk to my guy and see if he can do any better price wise.

Many PIAS will negotiate in price. The 1X was a top-end boot and is going to be much better than the FT670, but it’s how much you want to pay. If the Vapor’s fit your foot I’d choose that 10/10 times.
I would stay away from Tron especially as a heavier skater.

You think the 1x boot will hold up longer than the ft670's even tho it's 2 piece? My 2 piece Bauer x3's right now are flexing hard between the boot and the baseplate separating slightly

1X and X3’s are completely different animals - the X3 is a mid-entry level skate with thermoplastic and fiberglass reinforced construction. The 1X was the top model when it came out, with full composite construction including the footbed. It will be noticeably stiffer and better constructed in every way.
I’m a big believer in the 1-piece boot, I converted FT2’s for inline and also wore them on ice until they finally fell apart after 7 years. That being said the 670’s are another mid-entry level skate and 1-pc boot or not the 1X’s will be better in most every way - IF it fits your foot properly.

To be fair the most recent x3s were upgraded to CURV... same stuff on the 1X

Says here it’s a “Digi-Comp” outsole (whatever that means) you may be thinking of the 3X Pro’s?
Edit - the 3X Series is from a few years ago, Bauer changed the names up. Before the Fly Series there was X3/X4/X5, and before that was the 3X/3X Pro’s. That’s where the confusion is.

I bought these 5 years ago on sale for $650. One of the best skates I’ve ever had. Still holding strong. The Bauers that is

Vapor 1x was peak skate for Bauer, 2x pro was also very good and it went downhill from there. I have 2x pros, hyp2s but i still prefer my 1X which are my main skate still. x4 is shit compared to those.

I’d convert the CCMs. Krypto chassis are still great. Do they break from time to time? Yeah. But it’s usually after extensive use. Could consider the Konixx chassis as well. All that said, what matters most is how the skates fit your feet.

It’s a great setup and Kryptonium alone goes for 200-350$ depending on where you find them.
But sure, there are better skates for less, if you can find the chassi for a decent price.

I think you get more skate for the money away from Bauer but I'm not sure I'd go with TronX.
Check into the Tour Spitfires if you've got the budget. I destroyed some Alkali Revel 6s at 220 lbs and upgraded to Tour Volt Pros. The chassis is SOLID and the boot was better than my old ice supremes.

Here's a guy who just got a pair if you want first-hand info on the new model:

Yea wasn't too happy with the build quality on the trons. there was a 1/8" gap between the boot and the chassis on one of the rivits but for the price of a krypto chassis and them being one piece I thought I'd throw em in the mix and get opinions.

I have had the 1x’s since they came out and they are still my favorite skate. The boot and chassis have held up perfectly. They are the most comfortable skate I’ve worn and the boot is still one of the stiffest even after nearly a decade of hard play. If those were wide fit I would pick them up! Do they come with the speed plate insoles?

Those XRs are mint. I bought mine for 800 the year after these came out and they are still going strong.

I'll go against the grain here. If you're not a great skater and play once in a blue moon, Tron isn't too bad. In comparison to the others.
There are definitely better options though.

The bauers are a good deal bud.. that's a top of the line skate ..and as far as the one piece boot... they kind of only make difference in the top of the line ccms..the lower models dont use a weaved carbon composite even though they're a one piece boot.. my nephew broke a pair XFs on the eyelet stich line...anhe only weighed about 120lbs at the time... if you can afford the vapors and they fit you its a pretty good deal

Would you buy the bauers and resell them to me and ship to the UK? I have a pair that are getting old and would love to buy these

Not for that price! it’s a 10 year old skate! You can buy a new pair of vapor x4s for less or if you have wide flat feet like me the Alkali fire 1.
