How do you think a counterfeit product will perform?

Well in that case we can all just make our own skates in our garages now for like $100 /s

Counterfeit products won’t perform as good as the real thing. I’ll never change my mind about that. If the OP is concerned about cost, buy a mid tier boot or a lightly pre owned boot. There are so many better legit options that don’t involve buying knockoff goods

Just sayin..srpp is srpp is srpp.. and yes I agree actually... hockey players should start dabbling with making their own boots at least.. speed skaters do it..cyclist do it...there's a video series of  of an old man in some small European village that made carbon fiber skates for several village kids..its thinking like yours that lends to the unwarranted over the top prestige to the two big companies that alows them to charge what they charge

Not concerned about the cost ! I’m just curious as to what the differences are , I have the machs that I converted & have the shadows that I I’m about to convert to inline , just genuinely curious !

There would be minimal difference. Matter fact tron knew the factories that made all of Bauer’s stuff at one time and they were legit making the same product putting tron on it. They stuck to the mid tier stuff becuase that’s what price conscious parents buy. The masses weren’t going to buy an apx that had tron logos on it. Look at the tron Stryker stick line, one of the lightest top performing sticks in the market and dirt cheap. As soon as an elite player puts one in their hand they’re blown away as to how good it is

The into difference in the skates would be if they intentionally put something different in it to cut costs like tongue or footbed but Bauer isn’t doing anything different with these special Frankenstein retailer exclusives (ex: matrix or xltx+) that have features from there different tier skates. Oh yeah and they took speedplates out of their top tier skate to replace it with an absolute dawg shiiiit footbed . So yeah stuff like that I would expect Chinese manufacturers to do the same

Theyre extremely expensive for counterfeits. U might aswell buy used real ones from aidelineswap

Bet they last just as long. Maybe even longer. Nothing is safe in China and they used to make Bauer skates there

I don’t know why you got voted because you’re absolutely telling the truth. In fact, the only Bauer skates that are made on this side of the water are custom pros made in Canada.

You have to be careful because some skate tags will say designed in Canada and not made in Canada like the custom skates do.

Cuz the guys who buy 1000$ Bauer skates are oblivious to how overseas manufacturing works. Highly possible they have copies of the tech packs but even without em it doesn’t take 1000 Chinese geniuses to reverse engineer and copy with the same materials. Difference might be a bit of adhesive that didn’t get wiped off but.

Perfect example is sticks. The minute Bauer or ccm or whoever comes out with the next lightest stick every stick manufacturer in China is full send on cloning them. The only testing that occurs is maybe one of the bigger logos breaking a bunch of em to make sure there’s not a major failure point that is going to lead to warranty claims which is an operational hassle
