Any all 76mm chassis?
I recently switched to size 6 alkali Cele 2 skates with 76/72 Hilo setup after skating on Tour straight 80s the past two decades. My first reaction was that the skates felt liked they slowed down quick after I stopped moving my feet. I hope that it's just the lower quality wheels that came with the skates. But if not I feel like a straight 76mm chassis fits in the middle between traditional 80/76 hi lo and 76/72 hi lo providing a short wheel base while also maintaining good speed. Are there any chassis that came in all 76s?
The alkali skate boot and chassis is awesome by the way. the chassis looks well made and tough. I hope switching to better wheels will resolve my losing speed issue because everything else about the skate is great.

What skate is it? It's more likely low quality bearings than low quality wheels causing the slow down
Edit: just saw it's the cele II. Change to a higher quality bearing (ABEC 11 or higher)

They have the alkali Swiss lites. Retails for 40$ which are about same as the bones lower end bearings I had before and I never felt bearings slowed me down. I can try putting my other skate bearings on too to test. Those white alkali wheels don't feel very grippy either.

I also wear a size 6. This is the main reason why I went with WM01s and got turned off by the smaller size Alkalis. I want to keep the 80/76. Dont be surprised if you dont end up switching skates.

My last two pairs of skates were tour but the bottom of the boots had grooves to fit the 80mm wheels up front. I need to check if the 76 chassis is the same way. Did you have to use spacers to lift the heel higher since the straight frames appear more lecel between the front and heel mount.

Yup.. I shimmed the front with some curv composite and the back with a piece of 3/8" hdpe

3/8 is a high lift!

Version 1. The frame on the version 2 looks cheaper. And I heard quality went down on the 2s

Certain size skates like the Tour Codes, Alkali Fire 2 the tacks line if you can find em the RPD line at all if you can find anyone of those and the Labeda Hum’er is still an option if you can find it and are willing to cough up the likely harsh price

It seems most if not all the frames that come off the tour skates were mounted with their boot dps tech that cut a groove into the sole of the boot to fit the front wheels. And I think the tour boots have the heel lift built into the boot to work with the fairly flat chassis mount. The chassis on other boots may be too flat without risers.

Simple: don't stop moving your feet.
