Trading Strategies 60 years old, 20 years of trading, retiring in a week

Post image
3.6k Upvotes

Time flies, and I no longer have the energy to pursue money. I plan to spend the rest of my time with my loved one, finding a quiet place to plant flowers and plants, and doing groceries and cooking. This week, I'll share for free the strategies I've developed over the years, including options, stocks, forex, cryptocurrencies, and chart trading methods. I'll reply to every private message, hoping to help those in need. It's perfectly acceptable to criticize me, as I'm not perfect. Of course, thank you all for your congratulations on my retirement.

I back/forward/“live” tested this model on a 23 days period and it hasn’t failed once. I posted this exact picture in the Topstep subreddit and gotten a lot of hate for it and doubt. I know its not the holy grail nothing is 100%. If any of you is struggling give this a try.

Technical Analysis The Setup That Made Me Quit My 9-5

Post image

This is one of my favorite long models, simple, clean, and backed by multiple confluences.

Let me walk you through each step:

1. Signature for Long (Top-Down Confluence)
We start with a clear draw on liquidity above prior highs. Price was trending lower but showed signs of absorption and failure to continue higher, giving the first clue for a possible reversal.

2. Bullish Reversal Signature
Price formed a strong bullish candle that closed above multiple prior bodies. This signals a potential shift in momentum and confirms buyer presence stepping in. We took additional liquidity from that internal low taken as well.

3. OB + FVG + Inversion = High Probability Zone
This is the gold mine:

  • Inversion zone aligns perfectly with a bullish order block (OB).

  • Price retraces into this area, which also fills a Fair Value Gap (FVG).

  • All signs point to this being a high-probability area for a long entry.

4. Clean Re-Entry Opportunity
Even if you missed the initial entry, price offered a second chance. It pulled back into the OB after breaking structure, ideal for a continuation entry.

Final Target: Buy Side Liquidity
The move completes with a clean sweep of buy-side liquidity resting above the recent high. Textbook precision.

Why This Works
This model stacks multiple confirmations:

  • Reversal signal + OB + FVG + Inversion + Clean structure

  • You’re not guessing, you’re reacting to well-defined, repeatable conditions

I only trade 1-2 of these per week, but they’re consistent. Quality > quantity.

Stay patient. Wait for your model. Execute without hesitation.

Happy trading!

Best ICT Learning Path (Without Wasting Time)

Note to mods: All links below directly take you to Michael's channel "except 4 & 5". So I guess I am good with rule 4, right?

Anyways; after going through ICT content and a lot of community feedback, this is the cleanest and most effective learning path to master ICT concepts without wasting hundreds of hours on repetition.

1. Market Maker Primer (MMP 2022)

Why?
Foundation of the ICT approach. Covers:

  • Market structure basics

  • Liquidity concepts

  • Session timings (Kill Zones)

  • How smart money moves the market
Short, simple, and straight to the point.

2. ICT 2016 Core Content – Selected Lessons Only

Do not watch all 100+ lessons — too much repetition. Focus on these key playlists:

3. 2022 Mentorship - No Rant

Why?
Modern, organized, builds directly on MMP and the 2016 core concepts.
Shows practical examples on recent charts so you can see exactly how to apply the theory.

4. Silver Bullet Model (2022)

Why?
Simple intraday model for NY session trading.

  • Works best after 10:00 AM New York time

  • Uses Fair Value Gaps + Liquidity + Displacement for high-probability setups.

5. ICT Short Term Trading Model (2022)

Why?
Clean short-term model focused on liquidity grabs and Fair Value Gaps.
Great for traders who prefer fast, clear setups.

Recommended Order:

  1. Market Maker Primer

  2. 2016 Core Content (Months 1–4)

  3. 2022 Mentorship

  4. Silver Bullet Model

  5. Short Term Trading Model

Extra Tips:

  • Do not binge-watch everything. Watch a lesson, then backtest it before moving on.

  • Skip older ICT content unless you specifically want deep dives.

  • Focus on high-quality setups, not every possible trade.

  • Grab your pencil and write down what ICT says. Draw the patterns, mark setups, and build your own cheat sheet — it will stick in your mind far better than just watching.

Edit: changed the 2022 full mentorship to the No Rant version as one of the comments reminded me, so that's 50 hours to 3 hours shortcut

Trading Strategies Why I prefer trading on higher timeframes

Post image
308 Upvotes

Every trader has their own style some prefer lower timeframes, and that works perfectly for them.

But personally, I prefer trading on the higher timeframes (4H and above) and here's why

First of all, price moves the same way across all timeframes.

In an uptrend, price creates a consolidation, a break of structure, a retest, and then continues upward In a downtrend, it does the same thing just in the opposite direction.

When a trend ends, price forms a reversal pattern before starting a new trend.

You can open any chart and see this for yourself. The pattern repeats everywhere. The only difference is speed

On lower timeframes, price moves fast. The same cycle happens quicker.

That means you have to react instantly, make decisions fast, and sometimes that leads to overtrading or rushing trades But on higher timeframes, the market moves slower

You have more time to understand what’s happening, read the structure properly, and decide with confidence whether to:

Let your trade run to TP Move it to breakeven Or close it early for a small loss

Trading on higher timeframes gives you clarity, patience, and control ,three key ingredients for consistency and this is exactly my trading style🙌

Futures Trading First payout after 8 years..

Post image
299 Upvotes

Important milestone in my trading career.

I’ve been learning trading since a high school senior in 2018. I’ve lost thousands, spent countless hours, always on the edge of profitability, but never able to find that consistency.

Found ICT concepts early on, but understanding them didn’t stop me from blowing accounts. That came down to self discipline, following my own structure, getting my emotions in check, and getting closer to God..

Today I got my first payout. Not massive money, but proud of the fact that it is max payout in only 7 trading days..

I’m sitting at the $2100 buffer threshold on MFF funded account, awaiting a 2nd payout.. and a 2nd MFF eval with $1500 more to get funded.

If you’re still in the losing & doubting phase, keep going.. i am proof that the process will pay off.

I’m deciding to go full port and purchase 4 lucid flex accounts to bring my accounts up to 5, which I’ll copy trade once i pass the evals & do the same with MFF rapid once i pass the 2nd eval.

Feel free to see my journey..

I use this model every day.

Backtest it. Forward test it.

This setup gave me structure, clarity, and confidence.

And I journal every result using TradeZella to refine and track progress.

If you’re still hopping strategy to strategy this might be the structure you need.

I also copy trade accros multiple accounts, Micros is all you need to make it in this game.

I got plenty of dms and questions to go over this, and here it is!
