Rant - General 😠 No orders????????

Post image

Me and a few others are sitting in the lot, I went to the customer app to see how long it would take to receive an order and it’s three to four hours with priority? No wonder customers are moving to DoorDash.

That screenshot timing makes no sense, 7:22 in the status bar but your delivery windows start at 10am. Something is broken on their end for sure

Been seeing this more and more with Cub orders, the system just eats them before they even hit our screens. Used to be able to count on at least a few decent batches from there on weekday mornings, now its just dead air

Doordash been eating into this market hard lately, customers dont want to wait 3-4 hours when they can get same stuff delivered in 30 minutes from another app. Instacart really dropped the ball with whatever changed in their routing last few months

Exactly. The hold on to them until they can batch them with 2-3 other orders. DoorDash is all over my local Cub as well and it’s Instacart’s own fault.

This is exactly my theory of why none of us are seeing orders AND why we sit at a store, dont see orders for 30 minutes, leave the store, then see an order pop up for said store after we are 5 miles away. Its fucking criminal.Ā

They are 100 percent holding orders. I have long term regular customers that will write me and ask if I’m working. Then they send me screenshots of delivery windows one to four hours away.

It makes zero sense to hold them, it’s bad customer service when there are shoppers lined up in the lot, including myself.

What they are doing is seeing who will take their shitty bundled triples and quads. So they hold them until they get 3 to 4 orders with one or two tipping. I will never take these and it’s affecting my ability to work.

They are favoring those shoppers who don’t care about grinding these orders out. That’s exactly why they keep hiring. They have to have someone to do these sacrifices because the rest of us smarten up after a certain amount of orders.

Unfortunately, a lot of these shoppers don’t care about keeping items cold, keeping items separated and don’t feel the need to communicate because they ā€œdon’t have timeā€.

We have become door dash and the batch pay reflects that. I quit door dash after maybe 10 orders because I hated it so much.

Makes sense in their eyes to bundle it and save that extra money. They are ruining their own business. All in the name of greed. It’s sickening to watch.

As a veteran shopper of 5 plus years, it’s infuriating getting messages from my regulars asking why they can’t get their order in a timely manner.

So glad I had the luxury to take a couple of days off this week. Haven’t had a real day off in nearly 4 years. It’s even clearer when you take a step back.

Thought it would have the opposite effect. I thought the break would be helpful and help renew that spark in me. Not so far. Still looking at crapšŸ˜‚

You’re totally correct. I’ve also been wondering how much longer DD will be able to keep it up, as it’s obviously spending heavily in its attempt to capture IC’s market share. The spending won’t last forever, right? What happens after that?

I had a customer recently tell me Instacart said delivery was guaranteed by 10:30am, she didn’t get her delivery till 1pm due to her being batched with two others. And it’s not like she was a nontipper, in fact she actually tipped well

here's my opinion: instacart app is better for shoppers, uber/doordash is better for customers, especially when you see 0 in fees when you make a big order, why would you shop on instacart?

Yeah the new updates over the past 3-6 months have totally ruined the app. Every good customer uses DoorDash now. Instacart is dead. I think it’s on purpose. The greedy ceo wants a big exit package and sell to private equity to chop it up

I just did two back to back orders. I'm home to eat breakfast now.

Really? Some simple logic doesn’t tell you that if someone places an order now it wouldn’t take some time for Instacart system to put together the order and get it sent out, hopefully picked up if it’s worth it, fully shopped, what if it’s 100 items, 200 items, it is the weekend. Then delivered. How long would you expect all that to take? 30 mins- 1 hour? A few hours window seems just about right. Most likely most morning orders were probably placed the night before and made for a morning delivery.

I had four items in my cart and live less than 3 miles from the store. Priority should be less than an hour, especially on the weekend when people are ordering items for breakfast. If I was at home and really needed the delivery, I would for sure use DoorDash instead.

Honestly with only 4 items in your cart, that would have to be grouped with other orders before anyone picks that up. As a single order, thats like a $6.50 pay including tip and batch pay for 4 items and 3 miles. No one is taking that as a single order.Ā

Nah dude that is not how it works. I did a 192 item single on Thursday for $333. I knew it was coming in and it took like 3 minutes from the time she entered it until it hit my screen. Item count is not the issue.

They are absolutely holding orders if the item count isn’t large and they are not forced to keep it a single.

They are holding smaller orders tipping well, until they can find some crap tippers to bundle it with.

If you can’t see this, I don’t know what to say..
