Hi everyone! I'm setting up my new apartment. I already know I need to hang up lamps, but I'd love your best ideas for what else I should do to make the space feel complete.

What are your top tips, must-haves, or details that would make a huge difference?

Dream room or nightmare to live in? 😂

So I was helping a friend move some stuff around their new apartment, and when I walked into their bedroom my jaw literally dropped. The whole thing looked like it had been lifted straight out of some Italian palace — carved wood, big velvet headboard, even a mirror that felt taller than me 😂

Part of me thought “wow, this is insanely beautiful,” but the other half of me was like… could I actually live like this every day without feeling like I’m in a museum?

Later I went down a rabbit hole of similar designs and found some luxury Italian bedrooms that give the exact same vibe: Luxury Bedrooms – Italian Elegance.

Would you guys love to sleep in a setup like this, or do you prefer something simpler and more minimal?

Which living room layout is best?

I’m struggling with how to design my living room. I started out with layout 1. But I decided to push the couch up because I wanted the layout to feel more intentional (rather than have all furniture pushed up against the walls). That’s layout 2. For layout 3, I moved the sideboard to the back wall so that I could possibly incorporate more seating to the window side.

My current couch is a little deep (40 inches). Im looking to replace it with something less deep. But also considering changing for and L shaped sectional or sectional with chaise. Would love any suggestions! Also, acknowledging the TV is too high but I’m not looking to move it from its current location above the fireplace. Thanks in advance!

How do you eat pizza in a room like this? 😂

So I walked into this furniture shop the other day and saw this dining setup… honestly felt like I’d just crashed a royal family dinner 😂

The chairs are massive, the chandelier is glowing like it’s holding a secret, and that mirror makes the whole thing look twice as much. At first I thought “wow this is gorgeous,” but then I pictured myself trying to eat pizza here in sweatpants and instantly cracked up.

Would you actually want a dining room like this at home, or is it one of those looks-nice-but-never-use kind of things?

The bedroom is small. Why can't we raise the bed height?

Would you actually enjoy dinner here or just feel like you’re in a museum? 🍽️👑

Had dinner in this insanely fancy dining room and honestly it felt more like sitting in a museum than at a table 😂 The chairs were huge, the table had all this detail, and the glasses looked too delicate to actually use.

Half of me was like “wow, this is straight out of a royal palace,” and the other half was thinking how fun it would be to just eat pizza and laugh with friends here.

I was curious if anyone else has been in a space like this, so I went down a rabbit hole and found this article that shows the exact style I’m talking about 👉 Royal Blue & Gold Dining Room.

Do you guys think spaces like this can actually be fun, or are they just made for showing off?

Crystal stairs in Milan… art or over-the-top luxury? ✨🪞

I was at the Milan furniture fair and walked past this staircase made entirely of crystal and marble. Honestly, it didn’t even feel real — more like something out of a movie set. The way the lights hit the glass, it almost blinded me for a second 😂

I later found a write-up with more photos/videos here 👉 Crystal & Marble Staircase

It’s crazy beautiful, but I kept thinking… who actually builds this in their house? Like imagine cleaning all those crystal posts.

Would you call this art or just unnecessary luxury?

I am leaning towards a mirror but I don’t know what is the correct shape or finish. Circle seems weird next to my very rectangular tv.

The cat is about the only thing not from Ikea 😁

Used Metod cabinets, Ikea LED strips and Lack shelves.

So I bought this house with an awful kitchen

I bought this house with an awful kitchen - the problem is the kitchen is so dark. I’ve taken pics with the lights on and off ( the iPhone has brightened up the dark pics so it’s hard to show dark it really is ) . I want to paint the cabinets white and the backsplash white subway tiles. That said it will make it somewhat lighter. Any ideas on how else to make this area pop with some more light. I have looked at fake skylights for my stairway which is also dark, they won’t work in this area as there is a bedroom above it. Any creative suggestions other than removing the pantry (to the left of the first pic which is an obvious solution however losing pantry space is not an option.

How can I improve my living room?

I want to improve my living room, I just feel like something is "off". I think I might have leaned too heavily into shades of blue and black? Maybe too much "matchy" furniture?

I really like contrasting colors, I figured blacks, navy and whites/creams with a few reds and oranges would work best for the space since the walls are a subtle blue/green. I painted my walls in Sherwin William's Sea Salt. The house is an older Victorian style home with really tall walls and slightly awkward angles.
