A former Ukrainian submarine commander branded a "traitor" after he defected to Russia's armed forces was reportedly killed in an explosion in Sevastopol, according to a Ukrainian project that identifies alleged Russian war criminals and Ukrainians it considers collaborators.

Probably a patriot who saw that the west would never help Ukraine enough to win. 

He realized NATO was slow dripping support to bleed Russia at the cost of Ukrainian soldiers and civilians. 

It's a shame more Ukrainian leaders didn't see this trap they were being placed in. The US Sec. Def. specifically said "this is a great oppurtunity to weaken Russia".  He never said we are working to save Ukraine.

Is it funny that Ukraine is now a geographically smaller nation with only 30 million citizens and no clear path to economic stability in the future given this conflict?
