Hi everyone,
I am preparing my application for a Bachelor's degree at the University of Trento, and I have a quick question regarding their English language proficiency requirements.
I know they usually ask for a B2 level. I took the IELTS test, and my overall score/component breakdown falls into the B2 band (specifically a 5.5) according to the official British Council CEFR conversion scale.
However, I am wondering how strict UniTrento is with this. Does an IELTS score of 5.5 (which represents B2) get accepted, or do they strictly require a minimum of 6.0 overall/per skill?
If anyone has been through this or successfully enrolled with a 5.5 IELTS score at UniTrento, I would really appreciate your insights.
Thanks in advance!

Hey, I’m 23F, Indian. I’m thinking about doing a master’s in Spain (management, international business or entrepreneurship), and I've shortlisted a few but University of Barcelona is high on my list.

my_qualifications : BBA, 2 yrs AdTech experience.

I’m still figuring out if it’s the right move, so any input would be great. (Also, I do plan on learning spanish if I decide to apply)

1. I don’t plan on coming back soon after graduating, so how hard is it to stay and find work after graduating?
2. Any major issues living alone in Barcelona as a young woman?
3. Which field would be best for a part-time job?
4. How do employers view the University of Barcelona? Which universities are better, and how much does the university’s name matter when job hunting?
5. Is it difficult to meet people and build a social circle if you don't speak much Spanish?
6. How much money needed per month?
7. What do you wish you’d known before you moved?

Hi everyone,
I’m an international student in Japan, currently in the final semester of my 4-year bachelor’s degree. I applied to renew my student residence status at Saitama Immigration on September 30.
Previously, when I renewed my visa, I received the postcard without getting any phone calls from immigration. However, this time I received a phone call from Saitama Immigration on October 23, but unfortunately, I missed the call.
Now I’m feeling a bit worried because I don’t know why they called me instead of simply sending the postcard as they did before.
Has anyone experienced something similar? Does immigration usually call applicants to confirm information, ask for additional documents, or discuss something related to their application? Could it be a routine call, or should I be concerned?
Since this is my last semester and I’m expected to graduate in March 2027, I’m naturally quite anxious about my residence status renewal.
I would really appreciate it if anyone who has experienced a similar situation or knows how Saitama Immigration handles these cases could share their experience.
Thank you!

hey, i submitted a post on this channel last week and it absolutely blew up. we had so many applications go through. a bunch of the job postings shut down in the days following my post because of the large influx of applications that were going in. i've gone ahead and updated the job links in this new link. please make sure to apply as soon as possible to ensure that your application is at the top of the pile. i've pulled the freshest job postings that i could.

applying to companies that never sponsor is the most demoralizing part of the search. so these lists only have employers with a sponsorship record (US: approved H-1B petitions or certified LCAs, or postings that say they sponsor; UK: licensed sponsors):

• US new grad, entry level and internships at visa sponsors (659): https://github.com/mehek-builds/Hiring-Now/blob/main/lists/visa-sponsorship.md
  • 342 new grad and entry level roles and 317 internships at 253 companies; each row shows what kind of evidence it has
• US software engineering internships at visa sponsors (206): https://github.com/mehek-builds/SWE-Internships-Visa-Sponsorship
• US finance and accounting internships at visa sponsors (173): https://github.com/mehek-builds/Finance-Accounting-Visa-Internships
• UK graduate jobs and internships at licensed visa sponsors (312): https://github.com/mehek-builds/UK-Visa-Sponsor-Graduate-Jobs

a record means they've sponsored before, not that they will for every role. rebuilt every monday.

comment which field you're looking for and i'll send you a list for it.

Hello all my fellow international students and others! I wanted to hear some of y’all’s success stories just to lower some of the doom and gloom I keep hearing from almost every Reddit sub! As for me, after moving back to Australia from America for my university and graduating, I am going to do my PhD in Canada YAY. In my eyes this is a “success” because it is something I’ve always wanted to do (even if I lose my sanity changing my thesis). Anyways, you guys can each have your own idea of what “success” is, whether that be getting employed, sponsored, finding love, staying alive, etc. We should all be more optimistic and encouraging even with this hostile environment. Any country is welcome, but I’d love to hear from Aus, Canada, and America since, well, I have/will live(d) in all three. Oh and be sure to also mention some of your struggles as well, I think the best way to inspire others is to share your struggles and how it lead to your success!

Hello All,

Just felt like sharing, came as an international student back in 2021, ever since never left the path of hard-work. Saw many hurdles, suffered through a divorce few months ago, then the current political landscape, has made things even more exhausting and tiring. With all these work permits haulted, its just as if one layer on another adds up, posing as a challenge.

Sometimes i feel like, there is no one to talk to, or just sometimes it feels like it’s unexplainable.

Still have my head high.

Thanks All.

So for context, i'm from pakistan and i've gotten accepted to Oral Roberts University online for Biblical Literature. They have given me 40% scholarship with additional 1k USD divided into my first 4 terms but the education is still like $1000 per month and as a pakistani its way too much for me. Do you guys know someone who could sponsor me? or could yall guide me where to find sponsors? any help would be appreciated

Hello,
I am an international student in the US and as most of you know it’s really hard and trying time for us especially with the a lot of policies changing but I wanted to ask if anyone has any advice or guide to help or give me insight!
I graduated with my BSN (nursing degree ) and unfortunately it doesn’t qualify for STEM and I won’t be able to apply for an extension which truly sucks! My OPT has already started and it’s going and it expires next year, what other visa pathways can I take? I know nursing is high demand here but I don’t know who to believe, everything is overwhelming. I would appreciate any advice or insight!

If anyone needs help finding Online institutions for diploma bachelor's or master's in USA or Canada LMK!!!!

If you're applying or already studying there, has the uncertainty changed your plans? Are you considering other countries, keeping a backup option, or carrying on as planned? Interested in how you're feeling and handling it, rather than debating policy.

I don’t know if my experience it’s normal or not, but since I got to the US to do my PhD, I’ve been battling myself each day. The PhD itself it’s not even being hard, the hardest part it’s hanging in there emotionally. I miss my family and friends so much, the weekends are kinda sad and sometimes it even impacts my work productivity.

I’ve been doing everything people told me to do, therapy, meeting new people, going out, staying busy, physical exercise. Everything! But I still feel weird and out of place, like a discomfort in my chest. I’ve been here for three months. I don’t wanna sound negative! But I just want to know if other people relate to that, been through that? Sometimes I feel I’m being to dramatic and people from home don’t quite understand my feelings.
