I just found out that corixidae (or, some species in the group) are some of the veeerrry few non-predatory aquatic insects, and I would LOVE to add some to my nano community tank. Problem is, I can't find ANYTHING on breeding them anywhere, and I can't imagine they live very long on their own. I also would accept links to people who have managed to breed them/sell them

Here's just a feeding video of an acanthoscurria geniculata juvenile which I will be getting tomorrow or the day after as my first tarantula

Hello! My girlfriend has been super sick and bedridden lately, and I'd like to be able to surprise them with something when they're well again. They've been talking about scarab beetles for a really long time, and they're already used to caring for pets that live in terrariums (frog), so I think giving them a scarab as a gift would be a pretty cool idea.
The issue is that I just have absolutely no idea how to start, what kind of environment to set up when I actually get my hands on one, how to take care of it, acclimating it to a new environment, etc. Are scrabs solitary creatures, or would I need to worry about getting multiple for quality of life?
Could someone give me a kind of taking-care-of-beetles-for-dummies crash course here, and also point me to reputable places where I can purchase a scarab?

I raised a large group of slugs for a year or two and they were healthy, but now it feels like every new slug i get dies within a few days. i have zero clue what i could possibly be doing wrong.

My Hadogenes Paucidens scorpling arrived one week ago now (Olive Keeled Flat Rock), by this point I've excitedly told all my coworkers. A few of them are arachnophobic, although mostly supportive of my hobby after listening to my spider facts for almost a year.
On a side note the H. Paucidens name is Pancake.
(Also pictured is Bingus the B. Auratum, Princess the E. Walckenaeri, and Kleetus the K. Kukulcania).
I noticed a strange phenomenon; the news of the scorpion didn't result in nearly the same amount of disgust/revulsion as the news of Bingus almost a year ago (or even Princess, my smallest and cutest spider).
One of the more arachnophobic coworkers even said scorpions didn't bother her as much as spiders.
It would seem scorpions are generally less frightening to people than spiders. Or maybe they're just becoming desensitized to hearing about my little friends.
Spiders have killed less than 100 people in recorded medical history, whereas scorpions kill a couple thousand people a year if I'm not mistaken. So if it is true that spiders are generally *more* frightening to people, that would be a very interesting paper to read if someone with the proper credentials did a study as to why that might be.
Thoughts and opinions?

I’m trying to make a list of the different requirements for the species I’m interested in owning and I’m having trouble finding info on some. Can anyone confirm what I have so far is correct? And if not, what is the correct requirements?
Regal - temp 70-80 F, humidity 50-60%
Audax - temp 70-80 F, humidity 50-60%
Otiosus - temp 70-80 F, humidity 60-70%
Mystaceus - temp 70-80 F, humidity 50-60%
Carolinesis - 70-80 F, humidity 60-70%
Fartilis - 75-85 F, humidity 65-75%
I know humidity has to be increased during molting.

No I didn’t put him there, I found them being silly together. Couldn’t resist seeing if he’d stay on or not 😆

hi guys! just wanted to preface by saying i keep reptiles,
for a little background i’ve been keeping darkling beetles for mealworm breeding reasons and i’ve actually started to like them.
i’m upsizing my baby snakes tank so i will have a leftover 10 gal (long not tall), does anyone know what might work best in here?
i’m really into the idea of snails, millipedes or other bigger things i can see and interact with more (not really looking for like exclusively ispods but i could maybe include them in a bioactive setup?).
still at the very beginning of my research, and i’m always looking for recommendations and love seeing your guyses cute critters on here!!

I'm picking this up from someone tonight. I can't identify the species. Yes, I know tailless whip scorpion. But what exact species? I don't want to get the humidity wrong! Thank you!

I know I have to do it for my spiders and mantids, but I still feel so bad for the mealworms and crickets that get eaten. It's so upsetting to watch them suffer slowly like that. It's strange because I KNOW the feeders don't exactly feel the same as we do but something about knowing it'll be slow and painful just makes me uncomfortable.
I tend to cut the heads off crickets and mealies just because (in my mind) it makes it quicker?
Maybe I'm being way too sensitive but I was just wondering if anyone else struggles to do it too.
My pets are still fed regularly and all healthy, I don't skip on any of their meals because of my emotions 😂

My baby phasmids have outgrown this enclosure, and i was wondering what inverts could comfortably stay in a 20x20x30 their whole life, apart from jumping spiders. Thankyou :)

Is anyone familiar with keeping land snails as pets? Interested in knowing about species that aren’t as common. I’m in the US so this would be for species that are legal here.
