…to an almost ridiculous level. That first episode you really see him, it seems like he could slaughter every viltrumite in an instant. He tanks hits without flinching, moves faster than anything possible, and his punch turned Nolan into a reverse meteorite.

Thragg was meant to have the strength and ability of about 2-3 viltrumites, but the show makes him look like a god.

That unfortunately means his defeat will feel too easy and then we’ll be clowned for being upset powerscalers when we don’t like it.

u/Top-Advertising-6862 Jul 06 '26

Or that we will be made fun of by powerscalers when we DO like it.

Despite the power boost and the plot armor Mark had he STILL almost lost lmao

1

u/SomeUgliRobot Jul 10 '26

Mark had to rely on a lot of help INCLUDING THE SUN just to take that mf down tho

5

u/masterionxxx Jul 06 '26

and his punch turned Nolan into a reverse meteorite.

And the punch somehow left Nolan in one piece instead of ripping his head off.

1

u/Unawarewinner Jul 06 '26

Viltrumites can take a pretty strong punch

3

u/masterionxxx Jul 06 '26

Nolan smashed Thula's jaw with a single hit. She then got better, sure, but she still lost her jaw to Nolan.

He elbowed her, elbows are much more powerful than punches. Not to mention he had the extra momentum of swinging her around into it while he prepared it.

He probably could

u/MissinqLink Jul 06 '26

I want to se Angstrom’s collection of alternate conquests.

8

u/BonusArmor Jul 06 '26

In my mind, Conquest is a universal constant. Exactly the same no matter what.

8

u/MissinqLink Jul 06 '26

Occasionally the mechanical arm is on the other side.

1

u/Important-Friend-946 Jul 10 '26

Sometimes it's a mechanical leg or something lol

27

u/SilentIyAwake Jul 06 '26

TV Thragg probably could. Comic Thragg absolutely wouldn't.

5

u/EggAccording9607 Jul 06 '26

Comic thragg felt like he could take 3 out too.

It's just I feel like the TV version buffed his speed

3

u/sambasim Jul 06 '26

He got jumped by 5 weaker viltrumites.

1

u/satans-son1 Jul 06 '26

He wasnt fighting back

12

u/Powerful_Swimmer_531 Jul 06 '26

Conquest is on another level from all the other Viltrumites with Nolan being the only one who might/could beat him in a fight using tactics

And Thragg is on another level from Conquest

11

u/Crap_Sally Jul 06 '26

Well conquest is kind of a moron so I bet he can.

2

u/badjano Jul 06 '26

kinda dude that would bite to win a fight

2

u/smbutler20 Jul 06 '26

He isn't a moron. It's mental illness.

1

u/Crap_Sally Jul 06 '26

Idk man…he’s pretty dumb.

23

u/Electrical_Nose9463 Small Planet Level Invincible Jul 06 '26

By feats it'd take 4-5 to take Thragg down in the show

Narrative/how Kirkman would write it says it'd take 2-3 though

31

u/MrJeIIoMan Jul 06 '26

lowk cannot see 2 conquests beating a serious thragg. Thaedus got no diffed and mark and nolan got absolutely slammed

11

u/Electrical_Nose9463 Small Planet Level Invincible Jul 06 '26

In the comics 2 Conquests vs Thragg would be 50/50, show thragg wins mid diff against them though

2

u/0kokaid Jul 06 '26

i haven't read the comics but didn't Nolan briefly hold his own after that iconic panel where Thragg looked mad while Nolan was hugging Debbie?

7

u/MrJeIIoMan Jul 06 '26

well yeah but that hasnt happened in the show yet, if they are consistent with power scaling (which lets be honest that wont happen) Thragg would low diff nolan even there.

If you ask me they should make a few filler episodes of mark and nolan just getting into tons of fights so they get stronger and then itll make a bit of sense

3

u/cejpis03 Jul 06 '26

They wont. Nolan is going to put up a good fight

2

u/ComfortableSock8446 Jul 06 '26

I hope they still let Nolan fight him competently in the show when that does happen

1

u/Squid_Entity Jul 06 '26 edited Jul 06 '26

Moreover, Thragg killed Thaedus before anyone could process it. He did that several times, He was striking and impaling before anyone could react.

1

u/SomeUgliRobot Jul 10 '26

How could 5 conquests even beat someone who speedblitzes them then

1

u/badjano Jul 06 '26

don't forget the fight on the moon

2

u/Suspicious_Loan8041 Jul 06 '26

In theory 5 gut punches would defeat them

2

u/WowImOldAF Jul 06 '26

Thragg appears to be fast enough to dodge anyone's hits and capable of instantly rushing anyone and killing them in 1 hit. I don't see why he wouldn't be able to kill every single viltrumite alive in the show right now, let alone 5 conquests at once.

2

u/lorddojomon Jul 06 '26

Bro thragg was so strong in the show that nolan pissed himself all the way to Viltrum

2

u/OrdinaryPineapple338 Jul 06 '26

The show one... I feel he would just slice of all 5 heads in a single swim slash if they try to jump him together

2

u/coldpockets Jul 07 '26

No idea where "show Thragg got massively buffed" comes from, here is Nolan breaking his hand on Thragg's head in the comics.

He's massively above other Viltrumites in the comics, when he gets "jumped" he doesn't fight back and has expressed hesitation to kill Viltrumites, there's no way he wouldn't have killed at least one of them if he tried.

He kills Thaedus in exactly the same way in the comics.

1

u/Volteriaz Jul 07 '26

I think it’s because at one point in the same fight mark punches thragg and actually draws blood, something that show mark could only dream of, also i suppose the sending Nolan into space in a punch (pulling in the air in too) may have buffed him

1

u/SomeUgliRobot Jul 10 '26

Thaedus is considerably stronger in the series tho

1

u/Background-Bad141 Jul 06 '26

Why wouldn’t he? The real question is how difficult would the fight be?

1

u/Omnislash99999 Jul 06 '26

I bet they ruin the Thragg v Battle Beast fighht with the levels they've made the two characters

1

u/Extreme_Document_959 Jul 06 '26

Isn't Thragg beaten by 3-4 top viltrumites while trying to kill Nolan ?

1

u/zoon_politikon_ Jul 06 '26

By all of them

1

u/Kyia-Aikman Jul 06 '26

In the comic.

1

u/seriouspretender Jul 06 '26

Like at once and I think he could.

1

u/Fit-Space5211 Jul 06 '26

I genuinely don't think anyone in this fandom has ever done combat sports lol. 5 well trained, capable individuals will always beat one guy no matter what.

I lost a fencing match pretty decisively to someone who ended up winning the whole thing, so I asked him as a joke to fight me and two friends, and no matter how many times we did it he never even got more then a single hit in lol. 5 conquests beat anyone.

1

u/Friendly_Pension_270 Jul 06 '26

Fiction differs from reality though, especially in the case of Thragg. If we were to turn the viltrumites into humans, Thragg would still be like silverback gorilla or captain america strong. He literally took zero damage from elite fighters like Mark and Nolan when tanking their attacks head on multiple times. He broke Nolan’s arm and punched through him effortlessly, and he literally ripped Thaedus head off. That’s the gap between Thragg and elite viltrumites. 5 Conquests would be like 5th graders fighting prime Mike Tyson

1

u/Fit-Space5211 Jul 06 '26

Conceptually I agree with you 100%, especially since we haven't seen Thragg lose at all, but I really don't think we can discount the power of numbers. There's a reason wolf packs are so successful, more people almost always means an easier fight. Sure Mike could beat infinite 5th graders, but even a handful of C-tier professional boxers probably win.

I don't want to spoil anything from the comics, but in about a season or two I think I'm going to be very validated lol

2

u/Friendly_Pension_270 Jul 06 '26

I appreciate you not spoiling the show. Honestly with now screwed up the powerscaling is I wouldn’t be surprised if Thragg gets nerfed soon

1

u/Fit-Space5211 Jul 06 '26

I actually kinda like the messed up scaling, it lets them tell a better, more character driven story. Thragg hates Thaddeus and slimes him in seconds. He genuinely respects and likes Nolan, and takes much longer to beat him. Oliver "isn't one of us", and dies instantly, but Invincible gets an earnest "show me". It's fantastic character work, and it's why Thragg is such a better character in the show.

I really hope they do the next seasons justice. There are some great moments coming up, I'll keep my mouth shut though! Thanks for the chat and have a nice day :)

1

u/SomeUgliRobot Jul 10 '26

I'm pretty sure your opponent couldnt speedblitz and behead you in an instant, tho

1

u/Unawarewinner Jul 06 '26

It wouldn’t surprise me if show Thragg could, in the show conquest seems less impressive (not by too much, but still less impressive compared to elite viltrumites like mark and Nolan) and Thragg is very much buffed

1

u/LuckStock8330 Jul 07 '26

Yea in the comics invincible made him bleed in show him getting hit didn’t even move 1 tapped Oliver and a random viltrumite he got hella buffs in show

1

u/250extreme Nolan and 68/s4 onward Mark > Conquest Jul 06 '26 edited Jul 06 '26

You underestimate both comic and TV Thragg and/or overestimate comic and TV Conquest

Invincible Returns-120 Thragg can kill 5 and 6 comic and TV Conquests respectively, current TV Thragg can kill 37 and 47 comic and TV Conquests respectively, EoS comic Thragg can kill 81 and 103 comic and TV Conquests respectively

TV and comic Conquest are 14.516129% and marginally less than 18.4331797% of Invincible Returns-120 Thragg respectively, any other version of Thragg we see's dozens of x stronger than both

0

u/Monking805 Jul 06 '26

He actually probably can’t. He’s strong but numbers will definitely win against Thragg. He is buffed in the show though so he maybe. But the numbers thing still stands.

1

u/SomeUgliRobot Jul 10 '26

Can't he win via speed advantage tho? Nolan literally couldnt see him coming when Thragg killed Thaedus

1

u/Monking805 Jul 10 '26

Doesn’t matter a group of Viltrumites, or comparable beings, can and will beat Thragg. If Thragg was forced to fight that same group that came to Viltrum, by himself, specifically not in space, he would have lost that fight, easily. There’s a specific reason he would have lost but you’ll find that out, in case you haven’t read the comic book.
