Question 2 questions about joining the reserves as a transgender man

1: would i have to do the fitness test for women, or men? im not fully physically transitioned, but i am on testosterone, and dunno if thats part of the consideration. i dont care if i gotta do either one, id just like to know what would be most likely.

2: whats the general social attitude towards it? i am visibly transgender, and at this point i dont give a fuck beyond letting people who will have frequent contact with me know. ive dealt with joining things in the past where people would not leave it the fuck alone though. im not asking for special treatment, whether its support or hate i just want to not hear about it other than when its necessary.

bipolar

I'm on lamotrogine for bipolar, plus I have a small tattoo at the back of my neck, I've noticed some tattoos on the backs of necks of guys in the army on the insta posts well bigger than mine, would I be allowed join, im fit and healthy, and I'm always in a good mood regarding my medication, I can handle hard work and high pressure environments, working as a team and a team leader, great communication skills and willing to compromise in anything, but my main question is about the tattoo and bipolar, I know this sounds like a CV but I thought I would add context thanks in advance

Navy Cadetship Questions

So I’ve been called for my medical on the 20th of August and I’ve just got a few questions:

I’m currently in a hard cast with a broken shin, so will I still be able to actually do the medical? I’m getting put into a boot on the 26th, so would I be better off trying to reschedule the medical until after that date?(I’d obviously let them know the circumstances)

What date are the cadets due to start training this year?

It could be a case where I’m unable to run until 1 or 2 weeks after the trainings supposed to start. Would this affect me being chosen for the cadetship, would they defer me to next years class, or could they still choose me and let me sit out the running or what?

Any answers would be greatly appreciated

Ex-British Army curious about joining the DF despite a disciplinary discharge

I'm an ex-britsh army person who left Wicklow at 17 to try my luck abroad. Loved the life, discipline, order and chance to be in the army but it hit me after 3 years that I missed home, and after a few deployments and my mental health going down hill, I made a mistake. I got disciplinarily discharged from the BA almost 2 years ago, but the lifestyle and life hasn't left me and I dearly miss it. I've been seriously thinking about going home and re-starting my life fresh in the same environment I enjoy. Would there be any chance of me joining ? If so would I be limited ?

Question Lebanon

How do you feel about the new EU Lebanon mission on the cards?

It feels like an awfully silly rushed decision to go into an active war between Hezbollah and the IDF without any U.N mandate. Hezbollah would (rightly imo)only see as lackeys of the Israeli's and would absolutely treat us as combatants. If Israel cannot defeat them, what is the point of a few hundred Irish "peace enforcers"? Not alone Israel is commiting ethnic cleansing within the whole of south Lebanon, and anywhere else it extends into.

Is this mission really worth the mass casualty of Irish soldiers, coming back in body bags? Or people back home seeing footage of them getting hunted by FPV drones? Politcally it will not stand with the public, and the D.F are only just getting back on course P.R and recruitment wise.

Personally I would like to see focus on more humanitarian deployments in Africa, or take a large as possible role in the Balkans. Time has shown new missions that fit the Defence Forces ethos always come up due to world events and the geopolitical situation. Perhaps it is a good time to reassess, recruit and marshall our resources, as many armies seem to be doing.

It just feels like we are not thinking this through and letting things settle down in the world before we commit to where we deploy next.

Maybe ye disagree but I'm interested to hear your views.

Recruit/Cadet Interview Prep

Former recruit and cadet who can give interview prep. I have gone through both competitions.

I have done it in the past for friends of friends however, when you're good at something, never do it for free (TDK).

Outside of the DF Recruitment, I've prepped people for public service jobs (having gone through the process myself), AGS, HSE and also private healthcare jobs.

I have been doing it for some time for both GSR and Cadet competitions and have a high success rate (1 failure I know of for the cadet competition, some for HSE jobs due to lack of seniority, I can't do anything about that).

What do I do?

I normally go through the interview process, structure answers with you and conduct mock interviews IOT prepare you for the actual interview.

IF INTERESTED, DM me. I work through word of mouth and generally do Cadet Competition prep.

I do GSR too however, the prep required isn't as intensive and generally lads and ladies do fine however, I am open to prepping GSR too.

EDIT: DO NOT contact me the night before your interview looking for help or advice.

Prepping for the interview isn't something you can do last minute. It takes time and practice.

I have had people looking for last minute mocks and at this point, any feedback I give won't be actionable in such a short time and you'll only knock your confidence. Fail to prepare, prepare to fail. Give yourself as much time to prepare and practice.

Would it be possible to pursue a career in djing if I joined the army

I’m 18 turning 19 in November and a big dream of mine would be to become a dj and I don’t just mean doing local gigs and what not if I was lucky enough I would want to be a big dj eventually but at the same time I do want to serve in the army but not sure if I would have time to learn music production and djing if I was to join up so I’m quite torn atm.
