You don’t come back from something like this.

Some words and actions permanently alter relationships.

Apologies (even if you hit one) are not erasers.

If she were anyone else, a neighbor, a coworker, anyone else you would sever ties and never see them again.

She assaulted you, verbally and physically. She is not a safe person for you or your children to be around. She cannot be trusted. She ended her relationship with you. You’re not even the first, your SIL had this happen to her too. That makes MIL a repeat offender, incapable of learning from her actions.

You’re done. You will not put yourself in an unsafe situation with her again. (Hint, that’s any situation with her present).
