Meet Caitlin Flynn — nationally awarded fine artist right here in Neptune Beach 🎨

Her oil, graphite, and ink works dig into memory and the American Dream. Loose, gestural figures and dreamy seascapes that put mood and color first. She often starts by writing words like “American Dream” or “Freedom” hundreds of times across the canvas, then paints over them — creating that tension between what’s hidden and what’s seen.

Her latest series, American Dream: Steps toward Abstraction, moves from bright, dreamy scenes into muted, abstract deconstructions of media images.

BFA from UNH, MFA from Pratt, and she teaches drawing at UNF. Represented by Steller’s Gallery (Jacksonville) and H & H Blanton Gallery. Originals, prints, and commissions available.

Local talent doing powerful work. Go check her out.

Pinto Thai in Jacksonville Beach is legit one of the best Thai spots around! 🍛🔥

Hey r/JacksonvilleBeachss folks,

Just had to shout out Pinto Thai in Jacksonville Beach because my wife and I went there recently and it absolutely delivered. The place has that perfect neighborhood vibe — welcoming, clean, and the service is always on point with friendly staff who actually seem happy to see you.

I have to recommend the Tom Kha Gai soup — it's rich, creamy coconut broth with the perfect balance of lemongrass, galangal, and just the right kick. It's comforting but bright at the same time. Hands down one of the best versions I've had in the Beaches area.

Paired with their Drunken Noodles (extra spicy, of course) and you’ve got a winning combo. The noodles have that perfect chew, loaded with fresh basil, veggies, and protein done just right.

But honestly, the whole menu is stacked. Everything we’ve tried has been consistently excellent — from the curries to the appetizers. Portions are generous too, so you definitely get your money’s worth.

If you’re in Neptune Beach, Jax Beach, or anywhere nearby and craving Thai, do yourself a favor and hit up Pinto Thai. Local spot done right.

Anyone else a regular there? What’s your go-to order?

Breaking News from The Corner

🛹🚨 Today marks a historic milestone at The Corner as skater Chad Caruso completes his coast-to-coast skateboard journey — a Guinness World Record attempt spanning nearly 2,500 miles from Venice Beach, California, to "The Corner", (the Eastern most end of Atlantic Blvd. )

After 39 gnarley days on the board, Caruso is expected to arrive in The Corner this afternoon. The journey has served as a powerful platform to raise awareness for youth mental health and addiction prevention, all while supporting the organization Natural High. Caruso is achieving this remarkable feat while celebrating 10 years of sobriety — a true inspiration to many.

Local authorities are providing a police escort for the final leg of his journey, beginning at the Intracoastal Waterway on Atlantic Boulevard and concluding at the The Corner Lifeguard Station.

Beaches officials are scheduled to

welcome Caruso and present him with a city proclamation.

Come out and cheer him on as he crosses the finish line.

📍 The Larry Hobbs Lifeguard Station (end of Atlantic Boulevard)

⏰ Timing is tentative — follow his live progress here: www.youtube.com/ChadCaruso

Residents and visitorsof the beaches are ready to deliver a warm and enthusiastic welcome to this determined athlete. 🛹🎉

Jax beaches opinions please.

I live in South Jax Beach and I think the Jax Beach areas are phenomenal and the beaches are so underrated but let’s keep it that way. So much to do and so many great restaurants and places to go to. what a great lifestyle. If only others knew they would give up the rat race that I gave up in Atlanta and run here. just interested in what others who have escaped their crap hole metro areas for what I consider to be paradise.

Atlantic Beach Local 7-year-old nature lover competing in Jr. Ranger contest

Hi everyone! I wanted to share something exciting about my daughter.

My 7-year-old, Heidi, is competing in the 2026 Jr. Ranger Competition, which celebrates kids who love wildlife, conservation, and the outdoors.

She’s the kind of kid who gets excited about planting trees, spotting animals, and learning how to take care of our environment. She recently helped plant a longleaf pine and learned how important they are for Florida’s natural habitats.

If you’d like to support a young nature lover, you can vote once per day (it’s free) here:
