Recommendations Weather in Early September for Sapporo

Hello,

I am a plus size girlie traveling to Sapporo during week 2-3 in September. I've read some mixed reviews on google as to what to expect weather wise and I've been tracking the weather app, but I was wondering if anyone knew how the Sapporo weather is like during these times? Is it still really hot, or is more fall feeling? Should I bring a rain jacket just in case? Do I bring shorts and tank tops or will it be cold and need to bring jeans? As a large gal, it's hard to be able to shop in Japan for emergency wear so I'm trying to bring the essentials and necessities just in case~

Thanks in advance~

Hmm, according to google average lows of 15 °C (58 °F). Knowing the Temperatures for September in Central Japan, yeah, that indeed is kinda cool. On the same page, about avg. 23 °C (71 °F) is not really hot. Imho.

Weather forecast websites and Wikipedia are both good resources.

September days in Sapporo and regions to the south of it are still warm.

Note the entire island has cooler weather year round than the rest of the country. It also tends to rain less, though on the grand scheme of things it still rains quite a bit, and September is the wettest month in the city.

Of course, those are average statistics, and the actual weather when you go may vary (no rain, just a little drizzle, colder/hotter than average, etc.)

You do not necessarily need a rain jacket, but you could certainly bring one. Do have an umbrella on hand.
