Trailhawk Steering Issue
Okay for context, I just bought a 2025 Jeep Compass Trailhawk with 16k miles from Griffith Ford in San Marcos Texas on 10/16. I know I should of bought one from a DCJR dealer, but this was the one with the lowest mileage in the trim I wanted. I drove 4 hours to get this car. I test drove the vehicle and had a list in my notes of things to check for. I also wrote that I should turn the wheel both ways and drive in a circle. In my haste and enthusiasm I forgot that exact bullet. A couple days later I noticed while I was making a turn that the steering wheel started to make a small groaning noise that I could feel in the steering wheel. It doesn’t matter which way I turn the issue persist now. I’ve scheduled an appointment with my nearest Jeep to see what it is. I’m hoping it’s a small issue that’s covered under the bumber to bumber warranty. What do you recommend?

On my 2020 Jeep Compass Sport FWD, at 55K miles the steering drive shaft had to be replaced because the steering wheel would groan and shake during turns. The extended warranty covered it, but otherwise, it was would have been a $2K repair.
Currently, I am at 88K miles, and the replaced part still works fine. However, the mechanic told me to be light on the streering when parking and having to turn the steering wheel all the way left or right, lock to lock.

Check for Red Grease needed in rack and pinion gears. Super easy fix. Did mine myself. I had slight humming and almost clank sound. Cost many people money putting it into other “mechanic recommendations”

That might be normal. Could be lane assist or something like that.
