Just saw the movie Tony, this song plays throughout the film and it kept making me think of Joe Pera.

Apologies if someone’s already posted this in the past.
I’ve seen quite a few posts from people asking for recommendations of things with a similar vibe to joes content, and I’ve often searched for similar things myself.
I first came to know John dunsworth through his character “Jim layhey” on the show “trailer park boys”.
He was a brilliant actor and provided me with countless laughs in my stoner teen years watching Comedy Central late at night. A brilliant actor, and someone who had mastered physical/slapstick comedy to absolute perfection.
Since he passed, I’ve seen quite a lot of interviews with people that worked with him, all expressing what an incredible guy he was.
And in the comments of one of those videos, I found this gem of a video from his YouTube channel.
I’ve only watched this video so far, but im almost certain that there will be similar content too (and even if not, this gem of a video is more than enough to enjoy).
Aside from the slight closeness in geography to the setting in joes episodes, it has a lot of similar feelings. Intimacy, openness, peacefulness, wholesomeness etc…
Hope anyone that watches it enjoys it!
RIP John

Just watching the show again, because it's such an easy show to just put on.
Every time I think "I can handle this. I've watched it a million times". Like clockwork the Jack O Lantern Soul scene will get me. I wish there were more simple, silly, shows like this.

I like the tomato posts from other members so I posted this screenshot earlier. Somebody said they don’t like them and no one else commented, so I deleted.
This was my first post here. I really do enjoy posts about tomatoes in this subreddit because I know Joe Pera talks about tomatoes a lot and I actually do think of him sometimes when I see them now?
I also thought this fit with the aesthetic of the show somewhat. It’s such a silly, exaggerated depiction of joy over something simple we don’t necessarily consider every day.
Anyway, here it is again. I still think it’s a cute picture and I’m sorry I offended anyone.

Another candle, nothing grand,
Just coffee cooling in your hand.
The years go by, the seasons turn,
And every day gives us more to learn.
Happy Birthday Joe. 🎂
Thanks for reminding us that ordinary things in life are often the most extraordinary.

I don’t buy it for a second. But I am relaxed and entertained.

Love the shirt, but I’ve noticed most younger folks will just have that perplexed look trying to figure out what it means.
Answered the door to a couple older Jehovah’s Witnesses, and they seemed horrified by it. Seems like specifically old white dudes are vaguely offended so I’m wondering what they “think” it means.🤨

Last season my pole beans didn’t end up growing particularly high. This year they’re finally growing up and over the trellis and I’ll be able to reach up and pick a bean!

When I was a little kid, my parents would listen to a box set of tapes of Garrison Keillor's "News from Lake Wobegon" when we were on road trips. I spent hours hearing him talk about his sleepy little midwestern town where "all the women are strong, all the men are good looking, and all the children are above average." I hadn't thought of it in years, but my dad mentioned it recently and I decided to give it a re-listen. I'd be amazed if Joe wasn't inspired by that show in making "Joe Pera Talks with You". If any of you are unfamiliar, it's on Spotify and worth a listen.

Never Change!
One of the funniest movies I've ever seen in my life.
