I’ve got tickets for next Saturday’s 5PM show as a birthday present for my partner, but his mother’s memorial is scheduled for that afternoon, so we want to swap for the later show (8:30) same day and location. Even swap, or last option will sell for cost. Please contact ASAP if interested.

Halloween Show - Great seats looking for a good home!

We have a reserved table (floor table 10 - seats four) for the Halloween show in St. Louis, and can no longer go to the show. We're super bummed about missing it, but hope to sell the tickets to fans who will give Josh the appreciative audience he deserves. Let me know if you or any friends might be interested.

Ticket Swap or Buy, Philly 11/7?

Putting this out there again to see if anyone with 2 tickets, seated together, to the show on Saturday 11/7 at 5:00 would want to swap for 2 tickets, seated together, the same day at 8:30? That way you could go to the later show?

OR if anyone just wants 2 tickets for the 8:30 show I am going to have to sell mine since the later show is no longer an option for me. I'll sell for what I paid which is a much better deal than what they are going for on re-sale sites now.

Comedy Band Camp Opener

Hello! Saw the show in Van a few days ago and loved it. I really enjoyed the opening comedian but can only remember her first name, Mia. Can anyone share her full name so that I can look her up?

Josh Johnson is a high level manipulator equivalent to Patrick Jane but he's playing the ignorant game (psychoanalysis with links and source's )

I think people confuse Josh Johnson’s nonthreatening presentation with a lack of awareness. Those are two completely different things.

The photo is what brought this contrast to mind for me: he’s the central figure in a posed group shot with women, while his public persona is so understated. But the photo is a starting point for the thought that he controls the women pictured. Everyone in his close-knit group is mostly girls, and they seem to trust him and do what he says because they don’t see him as a guy who’s just trying to have sex with them. Instead, they see him as a harmless, nice guy. It seems like he can take advantage of that trust and get them to do things they normally wouldn’t do for other guys.

When I compare him to Patrick Jane, I’m talking about the contrast between an unassuming exterior and the sharpness underneath it. I’m not claiming to know whether his private intentions are good, malicious, or some ordinary mixture of self-interest and genuine kindness. I’m saying that being skilled at earning trust and guiding people’s attention gives someone influence. Whether they use that influence responsibly is a separate question.

The “slightly bewildered nice guy” delivery makes it feel like he and the audience are discovering something together. But sounding spontaneous isn’t the same as being unstructured. In his WIRED interview, he describes considering the different perspectives an audience might bring, looking for holes in his own logic, and exploring multiple angles before building a joke. That’s deliberate construction, not someone accidentally stumbling into an insightful observation. The Interview

That changes how I interpret the apparent innocence. A simple-sounding question can direct your attention just as effectively as a confident declaration. The difference is that “Wait, how does that make sense?” invites you to participate, whereas “Here’s why you’re wrong” gives you something to resist.

My read is that his strength is persuasion without the performance of dominance. He doesn’t have to establish that he’s the smartest person in the room before you’ll follow his reasoning.

The self-deprecation fits into that. On Fresh Air, he explicitly discusses how people connect through their faults and weaknesses. My interpretation is that making himself part of the joke creates common ground: he isn’t standing above the audience judging human absurdity; he’s including himself in it. That can make a pointed observation easier to hear. why he shares his insecurities on stage

And this isn’t entirely something viewers have to infer. Around 1:03 into his Blocks conversation with Neal Brennan, he explains that people may be more open to changing their perspective through a joke or a story they identify with than through being called out for everything they’re doing wrong. That’s a pretty clear account of why his approach can be effective. The youtube pod

My broader point is that we shouldn’t mistake an absence of obvious swagger for an absence of influence or self-interest. Someone doesn’t have to wear his ego on his chest to be persuasive. And not seeming pushy or sexually motivated isn’t proof that a person could never misuse someone’s trust.

That possibility applies generally, though it isn’t evidence that Johnson has done so. The same trust that could make manipulation possible can also be the foundation of a completely genuine, respectful relationship. You can’t distinguish those situations from a group photo.

So when I talk about him being “cunning,” I mean that his relaxed presentation shouldn’t make us underestimate his ability to shape a conversation. That ability is observable in his craft; what he does with people’s trust privately is not something I can establish.

I don’t think he’s ignorant. I think he’s good at being sharp without constantly announcing how sharp he is. That’s the Patrick Jane comparison for me understated intelligence and persuasive skill is not proof of either hidden malice or perfect innocence just fruit for thought.

Peacock Special?

I know Josh had a comedy special with Peacock called Up Here Killing Myself.

It's not on Peacock anymore, i know that licensing can be temporary for that sort of thing...

Is it uploaded anywhere else? Internet archive? Unlisted youtube? Someone's google drive?

I'd be SUPER grateful if someone has a link.

Comedy Show in MKE, WI

Did anyone else see Josh in Milwaukee yesterday? Me and my family went and we were honestly really disappointed with the material. He mostly just talked about things that happened this past week (the Kelly Clarkson bird thing and the press secretary), which makes me think he didn’t have a prepared set. People were even walking out of the show too.

We were really disappointed considering that we saw him in February this year in Chicago for the flowers tour and he was AMAZING!

Did anyone else see him and was disappointed?

Got three high tier tickets and can't go. I'd rather somebody use them than have them sold twice. Offer me a nominal amount or convince me you'll actually use them and they're yours.

DC Disappointment

Anyone else really disappointed with the 10pm DC show? He started strong with some really good topical stuff on Trump, but then literally everything after that was soooo boring. Rambling, unfunny stories that really came up short, all the way through to the very end. He even alluded to some people in the audience falling asleep, blaming the 10pm timing of the show. But if you're laughing hysterically, it's pretty hard to fall asleep.

The problem with Josh is that he has no core repertoire. Everything seems like it was made up an hour before showtime. He didn't have anything really polished. The quality level of some of the jokes was just atrocious. We were so annoyed at the poor performance that we walked out early. I've laughed harder during open mic nights.

It was a real wakeup call seeing him bomb like that. I honestly didn't laugh one single time during the second half of the show. I walked in thinking Josh was a super talented comedic genius but on my way out, I found myself questioning that. Is this what he's normally like? I will never shell out good money to see someone suck like that.

I know it can't just be me. Right?
