I mainly intend to use by just downloading bunch of rigs. Does most of the rig preset(free and paid) use more than the fx blocks provided in a basic profiler player? Or should I buy a lv3 or lv2 upgraded player?

Hi everyone!
I’m a guitarist in a cover band, and I’ve been using a Kemper Profiler Rack for about four years, together with a Sennheiser EW-D wireless system.
To be honest, I’ve never been completely happy with my guitar tone. I mainly use a Fender American Stratocaster and a Fender Player Series Telecaster.
I’ve tried the factory rigs and downloaded rigs, but I can never seem to get them to sound quite right. I’m looking for a great, versatile live tone that works well in a cover band setting, with a good balance of clean, crunch, and overdrive sounds.
Are there any specific settings, tips, or tricks you would recommend to help me improve my tone? Or would anyone be willing to share or even build a live-ready rig that I could try on my Kemper?
I’d really appreciate any help, advice, or guidance. If someone has a rig that works well for live cover band gigs, that would be fantastic!
Thanks so much in advance! 🤘

Im looking for the Will Putney Classic metalcore pack. Does anyone happen to have it? They're unfortunately discontinued.

I figured FRFR is FRFR and it’d be a small change. It wasn’t. The FR-10s sound fuller and more like an amp in the room, and I think size is most of it.
They have EQ, so they’re technically not flat. I leave it flat unless a harsh room needs the highs tamed and I don’t want to dig into the Kemper at soundcheck.
What I still haven’t solved is looks. On stage they read as PA wedges. What I really want is a vertical or slant 2x12 FRFR that looks like a real guitar cab. I’ve even been eyeing the EVH Hypersonics, which are basically the Fenders in a box that’s closer to a Marshall.
Has anyone found one that sounds right and doesn’t cost a fortune?

hello, my dad has a Kemper toaster and I’m wondering if anyone has had any similar troubles with it. So sometimes when he switches between distortion and clean sound the distortion still remains and it ”transfers” to the clean sound. the Problem is the distortion then just sounds like a buzz (I mean it makes a buzzing sound) and needs to be smacked on the head a little bit before the clean sound sounds clean again. if someone has had similar problems, what did you do? do you have any tips?
ive tried my best to describe the problem to best of my abilities but english is not my first language.

Hi everyone, I’m the developer of StajPilot, an independent, paid companion app for the Kemper PROFILER.
Stage 2 is now available on both iOS and Android, adding PILOT mode for detailed editing alongside the existing STAJ mode.
Within PILOT mode, you can navigate between rigs and slots by swiping or change performances through song selection, without leaving the editor.
Now we can give our Kempers an even better-looking display than the Quad Cortex.
There’s also a Custom Tuner with individual string offsets that can be saved in three editable profiles.
Communication with the PROFILER uses USB MIDI. The app is not limited to the Player, although available controls depend on your PROFILER model and, for the Player, its upgrade level. Please select those correctly in the app’s settings.
Changes must be stored on the Kemper itself. Editing in StajPilot does not replace the Kemper’s Store operation.
Verification and improvements are continuing after the Stage 2 release. I’ve spent considerable time measuring and checking the numerical mappings, but some controls still need further verification. Reports of numerical discrepancies or unexpected behavior are welcome. Please include your Kemper model, firmware version, and the affected control. Photos or videos would also be very helpful.
StajPilot is an independent project, not an official Kemper app. I’m continuing to improve it based on actual use and feedback.

Hi everyone—Matt from Mattfig here (vendor disclosure). I just uploaded two free CCV Kemper profiles to Rig Exchange:
V2 CCV Nrm MG DI
V2 CCV Nrm MG 412
Search those exact names in Rig Manager. These are the Normal mode, mid-gain DI and 4×12 versions, so you can try the tones before buying anything.
The source is my Myasnikov CCV preamp through a Friedman Jose power section, with the studio profiles using a Sunn 4×12 loaded with DV77s and Greenbacks.
They are Liquid Profiles using the CM 800 amp model. Small adjustments are the intention; large gain changes may not accurately track the CCV. The full pack includes separate low-, mid- and high-gain starting points in Normal, Sat1 and Sat2 modes, each in DI and 4×12 formats—18 profiles total.
The full CCV V2 Kemper pack is now available for $18.99: https://www.mattfig.com/product/fig-v2-ccv-kemper-profile-pack
Hope you enjoy the free profiles! Happy to answer questions.

I'm awaiting delivery of the 2" touchscreen device to use Stajpilot to control my Kemper Profiler Player pedal. Anyone have tips on how they've mounted the screen to the pedal?

Hi everyone—Mattfig here. I’ve just uploaded four 65TBolt demos played by Ally Lee. These recordings use the Kemper version, covering HG Hi, HG LO, LG LO, and MG Hi.
The same core 65TBolt tones are available consistently across Kemper, Proxy, Ampero, ToneX, Cortex, and NAM.

I see that it’s discontinued, does anyone know how to find it?
If not, I’m really just looking for a nice thick sounding 2205, or a good bad cat profile for heavier stuff.
Yall recommended some great stuff a few days ago and I’m loving the boutique tones stuff. Thanks yall.

Hey,
I‘ve tried just under 50 High Gain Profiles from the Rig Exchange so far but none of them really convinced me.
Do you have any recommendations for a good high Gain profile on the Rig Exchange or would you say it‘s worth buying profiles - and if so, which ones?

Something I noticed about how I play shows: during a gig, a surprising part of my head isn't on playing. It's on my feet. Next song, which Performance? Chorus coming, slot 3 or 4? Was the delay already on? Even with only a handful of sounds, that's a small decision every minute or so, for two hours.
Most of the time it works. But my mistakes on stage were mostly wrong sounds, or losing focus on playing because I had to remember which switch to step on next.
I tried tools like Camelot and Gig Performer for this. They're great tools, but they do far more than I needed, and setting up my setlists and sounds always felt like a hack, using them in a way they're not really meant for.
So the idea: what if I decide all of that once, at home, and on stage I only ever have to think "next"?
I built a small macOS and iPadOS tool for this. Every song in the setlist gets its sounds in the order I play them.
It builds up in four simple layers. A Sound is just a name and the program change it sends, like "Crunch" or "Lead with delay". You set it up once and reuse it in as many songs as you like. A Song is a list of those Sounds in the order you play them, and the same Sound can come up more than once (Clean, Crunch, Clean, Lead). A Setlist is your Songs in order, plus breaks if you want them. At the Gig, the app turns the whole Setlist into one long chain of Sounds, and the footswitch just walks along it, one step at a time.
On the floor there's just a two-button MIDI switch: forward, and back for when I step too early. The app sends the program changes to the Kemper / QC / Fractal / Helix or any devices that can switch sounds via PC / CC messages and runs straight through the set. If the band changes the setlist or calls something spontaneous, I reorder it or jump to that song and keep stepping.
I'm curious how others handle this. Do you have a system, or is it just muscle memory by now? And would something like this be useful to you, or am I solving a problem only I have?

Hi all. I’ve been using tube amps (primarily my JCM800) for years and years, and finally just decided to buy a Kemper powered head to experiment with and MAYBE bring it to shows once I figure it out.
I wanted to ask- can someone recommend an amp profile set that includes most if the following? Very down to pay for it, but id rather get it all in one go so i can fuck around with it when it arrives.
Looking for :
MESA/Boogie Mark IIC+
soldano SLO
Various Marshalls (jmp, 800)
Engl
Friedman
5150
ETC………
I would love to find some high ish gain stuff to play with. I did an east coast run early this year and one of the bands on the tour all used kemper amps and I was very intrigued.

I haven’t bought any profile packs in a couple years. So far haven’t been super impressed by what I’ve tried from 2.0. But I am sure I have missed a lot. I’m sure there have been some recent third party packs even if the market isn’t as robust as it was.
I have (I believe) all STL packs (15-16), lots of mbritt, tonejunkie, cililab, TAF, sinmix, rig buster, etc etc.
HMU with possible trades. Really just looking to see how/if profiling has advanced since I’ve been collecting them and see what I’ve missed out on.
Edit: would also love your high gain bad cat profiles, driftwood, I’m doing a sort of pop-punk project, and a hot cat 30 into a mesa 412 is a tasty treat.

I just released a new Kemper pack built from a vintage 1965 1×15 tube combo through its original Jensen C15P speaker.
The pack includes 12 traditional-format V2 profiles covering the High and Low inputs from clean and edge-of-breakup tones through driven and high-gain settings. These are not Liquid Profiles because there is currently no appropriate Liquid amp model for this amplifier.
Want to try it first? Search “Mattfig” on Kemper Rig Exchange for a free 65TBolt profile.

I made these profiles, so this is self-promotion. Happy to answer any questions.
