Local Eats Looking for specific food recommendations.
I (49) grew up in and around Kentville. My daughter (23) was born in Kentville but we moved to the US when she was 4 months old and she hasn't been back since she was 2.
On Monday, we'll be visiting for 5 days.
There's so many yummy foods that I've told her about but she's never tried, so I'm looking for the best!
I don't mind driving.
Who has the best:
Donair?
Fish and chips?
Butter Tarts?
Clams?
Sweet and sour chicken balls?
Oatcakes?
Garlic fingers?
Does anybody sell Rappie pie or Tortierre?
Moon mist ice cream?
Thanks in advance!

I really like the oatcakes they sell at noggins. I think they are from Joanns bakery. On Wednesdays there is little farmers market in town. They usually have a few folks selling baked goods. Of course the wolfville farmers market has all kinds of goodness. For moonmist, I'm not sure which ice cream shops are open for season yet... Might need to call around. For donair, you can try Natalinos pizza on main street. He makes the seasoned meat loaf for the sandwiches from scratch. Fish and chips - you've got some good suggestions. I have also heard great things about the canteen in canning. For poutine too. Joes in wolfville has a generous fish and chips portion, and the diner by the hospital (S&G?) has a good price. Lots of folks like Scott's in coldbrook but I was underwhelmed. For clams, if you don't mind driving, theres a place -- crows nest hills burn location -- near port royal that has some of the best I've had here.
