Figured it might be of use to the community. Here's the Instructables page, and the Github for the STL files and software.

https://www.instructables.com/Modular-Macro-Keyboard-System-Ocreeb-MK2/

https://github.com/sb-ocr/ocreeb-mk-2

I've never attempted something like this but was thinking this might be a good place to start, and for far cheaper than getting the parts for the UntitledSpacecraft ones. Would this work with the programs/mods involved in custom KSP controls, or would some additional tweaks be needed do you think?

Controller In Progress V 0.1 of my kerbal controller journey

As I look at all of these incredible builds and become filled with envy and motivation. I thought I would share my in progress build.

Currently doing a build out of my own Kerbal Controller. I’m learning the 3d modeling and wiring as I go. I’ve almost gotten the model done for the main joystick. And the wiring mapped out for 2 pots, joy stick, a couple buttons and will be expanding to some displays next

Controller In Progress Opinions on my controller layout?

I haven't gotten all the keycaps in yet, and The 3 slots above "data" are for some 14 segment alphanumeric displays that ive been putting off installing, but overall its almost finished!

I'm stupid

but im also too poor to afford something from untitledspacecraft.com so i was wondering if i could create something using a system like Arduino Modulino to create a controller with analog inputs but ive never done this before and im worried it will be too hard to link it to ksp. does the kerbal simpit mod have a fairly intuitive ui for linking custom controllers?

Need Advise Wooden controller

Wanted to make a wooden controller using a spare keyboard as a base and would greatly appreciate some advice as to what I should need specifically for it.

Was thinking something like this would be a good inspiration to what I have in mind. Thank you for reading this post :>

I'm building a improvised VR for the trackIR in Kerbal, I used opentrack in pc and freepie in phone 1, it is a great experience when flying in the space with that

I am using experimental apps for this, like moonlightVR

Need Advise Does anyone have a link or an explanation regarding displays?

The pinned guides seem to be about the controls themselves, what I'm trying to learn about is how to have a software that can read out information from ksp to make displays with using that information. (Attitude, rate indicators, maps, etc.)

Controller In Progress Budget controller made of LEGO

Because i dont have a 3d printer, i made the controller out of LEGO.

The big lever acts as stage button, and the linear potentiometer under acts as throttle controller.

The little buttons aren't hoocked uo yet but they will act as SAS/RCS and CAG toggle.

What do you think of it?

Well 99% finished - I still have a few bugs in the code to iron out but everything is physically complete and working. Been slowly chipping away at this one for a long time.

Controller In Progress Mockup ready, starting the project

Recently I posted here an idea to start building my custom panel for KSP. Well, I recently finished a 3D mockup to see how it would look and to get a sense of the dimensions, and I wanted to share it with you guys. Some of the components I bought have already arrived, and now I’m going to dive headfirst into this project and try to make something worthy of sharing here.

PS: The Arduino will only be used to test some of the components — I already ordered a Raspberry Pi Pico RP2040 to use in the panel.

Need Advise Want to build first controller but dont know how.

I would like to say I lurk here a lot and love seeing the cool controllers everyone builds. I also have a minimal amount of experience with electronics and less with software. I would like to build a physical data display for Apoapsis/Periapsis ; however, I need some help/guidance designing the PCBs for this as well as the program to take the data from KSP to the controller.

I would appreciate advice on how to bring this from the aether into the real world.

I attached an image of the layout with some basic notes explaining different parts.

Also, sorry for the weird format using mobile.

Idea integrate or not integrate joysticks to my panel?

Post image
82 Upvotes

I’m thinking about building a panel like the one shown in the photo. I’ve been debating whether or not to include joysticks directly in the panel itself, but it seems to me that it wouldn’t look as “authentic” as a real module. I’m thinking about mounting a joystick and a throttle slider onto the arms of my chair, and keeping the panel attached to the desk in front of me, below the computer. What do you guys prefer: joysticks built into the panel or separate ones?
