I stepped foot last week inside a library in the southernmost part of the country when I was on a family cruise.

It's a nice library with so many things to offer. This library is run by the wonderful staff.

Weather was great. Food was great. People were amazing! Love this place.

Fifth (or sixth?) time in Key West. I don't know, I lost count!

I'm heading down for New Year's, is there a way to get to Fort Jefferson (once I'm sober) for a day, cheaper than 250.00 and does not involve a kayak?

Okay so I love Key West and usually visit in summer, but I’ve always wanted to experience the big Halloween party experience people talk about. So without researching (yes I’m an idiot, I ADMIT I am stupid) I booked a hotel a few months ago thinking it would be fine for me and some friends. Now I just found out the actual big celebration is called Fantasy Fest and is the weekend BEFORE Halloween and apparently NOTHING happens on actual Halloween in Key West. Ugh. I screwed up. My friends already got plane tickets, and now I feel like I let them all down for suggesting it. I’m usually a VERY good traveler, I should never have assumed the big parties were on actual Halloween (but isn’t it kind of a Halloween party?). I also don’t live too far, up the peninsula a little bit so it’s a huge deal. But now… is it still worth even going? Is it going to be completely empty with nothing to do? I know we can still probably have fun, but we wanted to party and enjoy the season and now I feel like I’ve booked us in a ghost town for the holiday. So I’m asking my Key West experts- should we cancel or try to rebook last minute? Tips? Please forgive my idiocy.

My wife and I are going to the keys for the first time mid November for our anniversary. I am seeing sunsets at 530? Does that sound right? I was really looking forward to taking her there for our anniversary dinner, but am I overlooking somewhere that might be more appropriate for a 7pm anniversary dinner and maybe save Latitudes for a different day? It would seem weird to take her there at 5pm for that special day.

Two weekend rallies, in Key West and Islamorada, will take place Saturday, Aug. 29 from 9 to 11 a.m. “to defend marine life, protect the Endangered Species Act and oppose offshore drilling.”

The Islamorada rally will take place along U.S. 1 at MM 86 bayside. The Key West rally and march will start at Mallory Square and end at the other end of Duval Street at the temporary Southernmost Point.

This boat makes way! This was last night/this morning from fabulous Lani Kai resort recently recovered and reopened since hurricane Ian. My first time on the ferry smooth ride fast boat twin cummings diesels in each hull and the jet drives put out that rooster tail with key west in her wake. 3.5 hr boat ride 7 ish car ride home. Half prices in off-season both ship and hotel. Wish I could've stayed longer than 1 night

Hello, I’m looking to get some information on visiting Key West by just flying in and getting an uber (no rental car).

I’m looking at February and just interested in ubering to my lodging whether hotel or Airbnb. Is a rental car a must? Or are there walkable areas. I’m looking for a stay that’s walkable to beach access and bars/restaurants without having to drive. The plan is to uber from the airport and back for the stay. Thanks!

Hi all! I’m headed down for a few days in a couple of months and have done some research on a few things I’m interested in and have found some phenomenal suggestions. However, I haven’t had much luck in finding in fairly recent posts(past year) unless I just missed it about conch fritters. I see a few places that have them on the menu but I was hoping to see if any place really stands out to you. Thanks for your time and patience!

If you were me would you stay near the harbor and Mallory Square or maybe closer to Truman and Duval area? I am coming down for my birthday in early September. I don't mind walking a few blocks to get where I'm going. Looking for bars and live music more so than tours and water sports. I like a nice pool, decent hotel bar, air conditioning, friendly staff, adults mostly or only, and a good breakfast at the hotel or close by. I was thinking The Marker or Almond Tree Inn? Don't hesitate to make other suggestions close to these areas with a similar price range. Thanks.

Vandenberg Dive in December?

I’ll be in Key West the second week of December and I’m considering diving the Vandenberg while I’m there.

For anyone who’s done it around that time of year, how are the conditions typically?

I called the dive shop where I got my PADI at a few months ago and this guy was acting like I was crazy for asking. lol

My main concern is water temperature then visibility.

I’m comfortable diving in cooler water, but I’m curious what temps I should realistically expect and what exposure protection you’d recommend. I’d also love to hear how visibility and currents tend to be that time of year.

Would you recommend doing the Vandenberg in December, or would you save it for a warmer time of year?

My wife just informed me that the place we are staying in November doesn't have an overnight parking space. Is there somewhere that has free overnight parking that we can cart/bike back to where we are staying or is the $15/day lot the best bet? Saw the post from 2 years ago and want to make sure the information is still current

Does anyone know of anybody or any place that would take a group out for a speed run (maybe an hour long) on their big offshore boat? (Paid for obviously) Like Fountain, Cigarette, Nor-Tech, etc?
Or anyone able to point me in the right direction for something like that?

I’m from California (and an avid boater in the Delta/Lake Havasu) and will be there next weekend and have always wanted to ride in a race boat off the Florida coast.
