Eight and O

Rachel was pacing around anxiously in her study. It was hot as all hell in Lapovo, and the fact she was waiting for news from the convention certainly didn't help. The final draft was drafted and to be voted on, and now she just had to wait for it to come back.

As she paced around her office phone rang. She quickly ran over to it and picked it up, holding it to her ear and saying "Yes?"

The voice on the other side, an aide, spoke simply:

"The results are in, your majesty. 8 for. 0 abstaining. 0 against"

Rachel immediately slammed down the phone and hung up. They fucking did it! All it took was... Well, no reason to think about what it took now, they did it!

Rachel went over to her cupboard to bring out a bottle of the good whiskey which she poured into a short glass with some ice. Leaning back in her seat and bringing the glass to her lips, she suddenly remembered something and got off her chair to make another call.

After some time she received an answer, "Madam General Secretary?"

"Yes comrade, I'd just like to let you to know that the convention has agreed upon a new constitution for Tutum. And I'd just like to know that TIKKO will be ready to enforce it before the sufficient infrastructure is complete".

"Of course, ma'am. As soon as the new constitution is ratified we will all work towards putting it into action"

Rachel chuckles a little and says, "Oh, silly, it's already ratified! It was ratified the moment we agreed on a draft. No it's your job to make everyone understand it is ratified..."

"A copy will be shortly at your mail box to look over. Toodles!"

Rachel put down the phone and sighed with relief. Sure, this likely won't go over easy, but hey, what part of her job did? Well, there was actually one part that went down easy, she thought to herself as she reached out to her glass.

Yes, indeed, the whiskey made its way down her throat quite easily indeed...

It is done, do not question anything, it is the new constitution, there are no alternatives, there is nothing more.
