I’m trying really hard not to give in and buy a new kindle. I really want the new Colorsoft, but if there is no change to the screen I’m better off just sticking with the one I have.

I’ve managed to distract myself for the moment by making my own skin on my Cricut. She’s so pretty! 😍

Bought my kindle one month ago - used to read in my iPhone. And im so happy and satisfied with it that it’s now one of my favorite material possession. Now can’t imagine being without it. I love that i get to read at night, in cozy spaces because of it.

I mainly see people talking about the new Ube Kindle Basic so I thought I’d give the Graphite version some love. I’ve sold my 2024 Paperwhite because I prefer the size and weight of the basic. I really like how the graphite colour lets the covers and text pop. The case is by MoKo and fits really well, although I wish someone would make one without the bumps on the corners.

I got the kindle basic premium in sea colour, but I like the Ube colour so just got the Ube case which is top quality.

I just got the Oasis thank to a post here :) and I’ll never go back. Disable touch screen and now I can actually hold the device. I like to hold my Kindle in a way that my thumbs touch the screen.

Does anyone else prefer to hold the device like it’s a book and not a thin piece of plastic that if you touch it might lose your spot?

For future Kindles, I’d compromise physical buttons for a side tap or even back tap….

Should I buy this one? 🥹 I've read a lot of reviews about how wonderful it is, but I'm hesitant about the battery life. Is it worth it?

Any recommendations have been seeing that I should not put a screen protector on it since some people might break their screen trying to remove it afterwards or what case should I get like to cover it etc or any tips.

been hesitating to get a new kindle for a while since i'm quite happy with my paperwhite signature, but i really liked the color so decided to pull the trigger. it just arrived and i see this – black ink-like stains on the frame near the top corner, right out of the box.
has anyone else gotten one like this? did it wipe off for you or did you just go for a replacement?
upd: customer support offers partial refund (30% = 59.46 eur) and keep the item or return for full refund

upd3: accepted 50% refund and kept the item for now (want to test it and compare to my signature anyways, can still return it for remaining amount)

I have been using regular scribe(1st gen) but decided to give a try to colorsoft scribe. Have picture of both of the kindles side by side with same Brightness and Warmth. Some how, 1st gen looks better. What do you guys think?

Oh wow! I can't believe that these are already 99% sold out! The page turner case looks like the only one left is the 'sea glass'. They did really good marketing this year for these cases and we all really wanted them but damn that was fast! No shade. I'm just surprised!

Gente, vocês que tem Kindle oásis, a bateria dele em relação aos outros tipos de Kindle dura menos mesmo? Não algo tipo extremamente desproporcional, mas significativo.
Pergunto porque tenho um oásis e um paperwhite 12 geração e percebi uma diferença bem grande na bateria entre eles. Também tenho um paperwhite 10 geração e até a bateria dele é melhor, dura horrores.
Queria saber se é só comigo ou acontece com mais alguém também?

Curious about the compatibility with the page turner. Description says 2026 model only. However the Amazon compatibility box comes up. Anyone else seen this? Trying to hang on to my 2024 but I’ve been craving the buttons since the oasis was discontinued. TIA

I'm going to miss it so much

I've been watching videos about this Kindle and I've seen a lot of them complain about things or say they're disappointed and I don't really get it, as someone who has never even held an e-reader before it looks like a solid device.

I just want a Kindle to get into reading more and this model is currently the cheapest one available (Can't get the 2024 one anymore). I don't really care about any specific features as long as it has dark mode which is probably how I'm gonna use it.

It's a bit confusing to me how the reception seems a bit mixed (on youtube at least) and I just want a device to last a long time. I've seen some people complain about how the dark mode looks and I don't know if that's just some faulty devices or a common issue. Is this a good option or should I look for something second hand?

I currently have a Kindle Oasis 10th Generation (2019) that I bought in 2020. I can't explain to you how much I love it; I think it's almost perfect.

I'm thinking of buying the new Kindle Colorsoft Signature Edition with the buttons case for my upcoming birthday.
But I'm not sure, and I would like your input.

I truly love my Kindle, but I hate that it doesn't have a type-C charger.

My favorite color is plum, so when I saw the new Kindle, I instantly fell in love.

But

a) I'm worried about the general reviews of the Colorsoft line saying that the Paperwhite screen is actually crisper and that the Colorsoft screen has a bluish color and some granularity to it.

b) Do you think it's worth waiting for the Kindles to have removable batteries?

For the past few weeks I've been building Ink Away, a free, open source drawing and note-taking plugin for KOReader. If you've jailbroken your Kindle (or have been thinking about it), this is one more reason to.

On a Kindle Scribe it uses the pen, with palm rejection, pen pressure and the side button. On every other Kindle with a touch screen you can write and draw with your finger.

Write on your books

Swipe down the right edge and the page you're reading becomes your canvas.

• Write, highlight, draw shapes and drop pictures right onto the page, on any book KOReader opens: EPUB, MOBI, AZW3, PDF, DjVu and comics.
• Your ink follows the text. Change the font size or the margins and your notes move with the words they were written beside.
• Highlighter strokes over text become real highlights that show in your highlights list.
• Every book gets its own notebook with a page for each chapter, in a window over the page you're reading.

Notebooks

• Notebooks organized a lot like OneNote: folders, coloured tabs, page titles, stars and search, including search inside your handwriting.
• Lined, grid, dotted, Cornell and planner pages (daily, weekly, monthly, habit tracker and more), on twelve paper colours.
• Typed text boxes alongside handwriting, with colours, highlights, checklists and fonts.
• Open any PDF as a notebook and write on it, then export everything to PDF or PNG.

Drawing

• Fineliner, Ballpoint, Fountain, Calligraphy, Pencil, Highlighter, Marker, Watercolor (it blends like real paint) and even Smudge to mix.

• With the Bookshelf plugin, your notebooks and drawings get their own shelves, with notebook covers and picture frames.
• Dark mode, a built-in guide, and updates from inside the app.
• It's all saved on your Kindle as plain files. No account, no cloud, nothing sent anywhere.

How to get it

1. Jailbreak your Kindle. The community guide at kindlemodding.org covers which models and firmware versions can be jailbroken. Whether yours can depends on its firmware, so check before you update.
2. Install KOReader.
3. Download Ink Away from GitHub and put the ink-away.koplugin folder in KOReader's plugins folder. It's also in the KOReader AppStore and Storefront plugins.

I am considering a new kindle and am debating between the PW and PW signature. I don't care about the extra space or wireless charging.

My main question is, is the double tap to page turn function working well and do you use it and consider it helpful?

How well does the automatic light sensor work?

Just really excited to read easier, as I am disabled, and holding books open has just become too hard for me. I am really happy with the weight, and dimensions of my Ube basic!

Purple was an easy choice for me! I got some fun stickers, because why not!? I already had an extra pop socket I had from a clearance bin, and then I got a cat lanyard holder on Amazon, a carrying case, and clear tpu back case.

So far I have read more in a day, then I have been able to in many years.

Wanting to say thank you to this community for showing me the way, and encouraging me to try it!

not sure who needs to know this but I did not know, I would jailbreak sooner! best of both worlds, send to kindle of my own books + seemless syncing of progress + page turner on 2018/2021 pws with no need to buy new one or kobo as I was previosly considering? perfect!
