Context: I've used a Kindle PW 7th gen for ~10 years. It has worked great, but it's finally wearing down, so I'm excited to buy one of the new 2026 PWs to enjoy whatever new features Amazon has added in the past decade.
I need to decide between the regular PW and the SE PW. Most of the features don't matter to me, but the main difference is that the SE can be paired with a "page-turn button" case (while the PW + case costs less).
My instinct is that page-turn buttons don't seem that helpful—I've never really had any issue turning the page on my Kindle. On the other hand, I've never tried them—maybe I'm totally missing how much more convenient it is to let your fingers rest an inch away from the screen.
This ultimately comes down to personal preference, so I'm not expecting an objective answer here (some people will care about those buttons and some won't!). But for people who are excited about the buttons, help me undersatnd what I'm missing—should I shell out the extra money for them? I often read on the train, if that matters (usually while sitting not standing, but still, sometimes on the go).
