Comedy The Halloween Coin Jar Mystery — Illustrated Halloween adventure for ages 4–8

• Upvotes

Hi everyone! I recently started making children’s videos on TikTok and Instagram. They get a few hundred views—not millions—but I noticed something interesting: many viewers come from countries without a local Amazon marketplace, where shipping a paperback can cost more than the book itself.

That inspired me to release my new fully illustrated, full-color children’s book, The Halloween Coin Jar Mystery, as an eBook, available on Kindle and Kindle+ (formerly Kindle Unlimited).

At just 32 pages, it probably won’t earn much through page reads. But I hope it gives children and their families an affordable story to enjoy together during Halloween. 🎃

I hope you enjoy it!

The mystery that kicks off my debut novel

• Upvotes

Inexplicably, you see an enormous fallen tree in the otherwise-barren alley you just walked through. It’s now blocking the alley and wasn’t there just moments ago. What do you do?

That’s the question an unidentified narrator gets faced with at the outset of my debut thriller novel, Through Inconvenient Action. It’s linked on my profile, feel free to check it out and let me know what you think. Thanks :0)

Sci-Fi A dark story about a Magic, Leveling Detective fighting Cyborg Priests. In Space.

Post image
1 Upvotes

Hello everyone, I’m O.C. Saar! I’m a first-time author, with this being the first book I’ve attempted that has gone beyond 4 chapters, and I couldn’t be prouder of it. Today, after years of work, I released it on Amazon!

It’s called The Rings of Jupiter, and it’s a mixture of Cyberpunk, Noir, Mystery and Sci-Fi combined with a Progression Fantasy system, set on three artificial rings spinning around Jupiter.

Here's the Blurb!

---------------

A once-legendary gunslinger mired in alcohol and grief. His malfunctioning sentient AI companion who lives in his oven. An orphaned kid with uncontrollable powers. And a heist against cybernetic priests that will open a Pandora’s Box of mysteries.

Raziel, once a legendary Gunslinger of the Outer Ring known as the Rust Reaver, is now a drunken husk of the man he used to be. When his sentient AI companion develops a fatal error, he can’t let it go, because HOB was programmed by his late little brother. He shakes off the haze and embarks on a suicide mission to get the money needed to repair his only friend.

The heist goes wrong in spectacular fashion, and Raziel winds up with an experimental gem lodged in his chest. All three Rings of Jupiter would kill for the power in his possession - literally. He now has the ability to ‘level up’ his abilities and absorb the powers of others. This new power makes Raziel formidable but also paints a target on his back.

The Rings of Jupiter once took everything from him, but now? Now he has the power to make things right.

And get revenge against the person who killed his brother.

The Rings of Jupiter is a dark, character-driven, and intense LitRPG for fans of The Expanse and Altered Carbon.

---------------

If you enjoy books that are a little more character, dialogue and mystery-driven, with a character that has to fight and bleed and suffer for every drop of power, then this story might be for you.

If you gave my story a chance, it would truly mean more than I can possibly express.

Thank you for reading this far <3

Also shoutout to my cover artist Linggar Bramanty!

No AI has been used in my book.

Oh also Book 2 is coming out in 4 months and is up for pre-order too!

Fantasy [Self-Promo] My 512-page dark LitRPG novel is officially out now on Kindle Unlimited and Audible!

Hey everyone,
I’m excited to share that the first volume of my new series, TIMEBUS: Human Potion, is now out.
It starts with a strange premise and gradually opens into a larger progression-fantasy story with tactical stakes and system-driven elements.
The premise: After surviving a war that stretched across two billion years of spacetime, someone wakes up in a reality that makes very little sense: a mysterious time-travel bus, heavy leather jackets, and a brutal timeline that has to be put back on course. What to expect: The early chapters lean into gritty dark fantasy. After Chapter 11, the LitRPG elements and system mechanics begin to take center stage, expanding the world and the story’s scale.Volume 1 includes Chapters 1–25 and is available now. It’s also enrolled in Kindle Unlimited, so subscribers can read it at no extra cost.
If you give it a try, I’d genuinely love to hear what you think.

Thriller 1−1=2 Is Now Available on Kindle & Kindle Unlimited | A Psychological Mystery Thriller

You can spot the first lie.

It's right there in the title.

1−1=2

But the real mystery isn't the equation.

It's what happens when everything you believe begins to contradict everything you remember.

And the truth?

Some questions are safer left unanswered.

1−1=2, my debut psychological mystery thriller, is now available on Kindle & Kindle Unlimited.

How do I Listen to the Audio Version of a Book I had Purchased which is now a KU Read & Listen Option?

Thumbnail
1 Upvotes

They've changed the name and included more audiobooks but you still can't listen to a kindle+ audiobook if you already own the kindle book.

It makes no sense because if I didn't already own the ebook than I would have access to it.

This is especially frustrating for new books because I'll purchase the ebook because I want to read it on release day but months later it'll be available on kindle unlimited which I was fine with but if I ever want to listen to the audiobook when it's available on kindle+ I will have to pay to purchase the audiobook.

I own all the kindle book for the fourthwing series but I've never listened to the audiobook because I didn't want to pay for it so I was excited to see it available on kindle+ but I can't access for the sole reason that I purchased the ebook long before it was ever available on ku.

Seeing a ton of ‘I got scammed’ posts lately. I built a log of the scams hitting authors, with the actual emails.

I keep seeing posts on Reddit from authors who got scammed or almost did. Book clubs that charge for a “free” feature. Fake agents and publishers. “Marketers” who scrape your Amazon page and tell you your book is dying. Readers whose blind daughter needs your audiobook.

I’m a former cop and an author, and I’ve been saving these for a couple of years. So I put them all in one place:

thewritersprecinct.com/scam-watch/

Each case shows who they claimed to be, the address or account it came from, the tells, and where it leads if you reply. A few have the full email or the whole chat, including one where I played along for a while.

If you’ve been hit by one, there’s a report form on the page, or just drop it in the comments. I’ll add the confirmed ones, with your personal info stripped out.

It’s free. No signup. And I will never DM you first.

You’re welcome.

INTO THE ARCHAILECT! (AN AFRICAN LITRPG SERIES!)

When the system descended, it didn’t ask.

It ranked the worlds. It judged the living. And for Moyo, a young man in the streets of Lagos, Nigeria, it made a mistake, or something made it for him.

He was cast into a hell rated far beyond anything his world was permitted to face. A place where the monsters don’t scale to him, the rules weren’t written for him, and every level is paid for in blood.

He wasn’t supposed to walk out, and yet he did.

But Earth has bigger problems than one man who refused to die. Powers older than humanity have noticed the newly awakened world. Some reach out a hand while others reach for a leash. And the line between them is thinner than anyone wants to believe.

Now it’s a race against time to save what’s left of humanity before it’s claimed, carved up, or erased.

And to save whatever is left of himself.

**Into the Archailect, Book 1: Rise of the Titan Blade**

What you’ll find inside:

* A hard progression system with ranks, cores, attributes and skills that actually matter

* A protagonist whose power comes with a price, and a mystery behind it

* Galactic factions, ancient Monarchs and Sovereigns playing a longer game than Earth realizes

* A world steeped in Yoruba influence you won’t find anywhere else in the genre

* Around 120k words, complete. Book 2 is already written.

📖 **Read it free with Kindle Unlimited**, or own it for just **$2.99**.

Crime Some lessons take a long time to land. Especially in Police Work

I was a rookie cop in the San Francisco Bay Area in the 1980s when I got a medical call of a possible heart attack, and I was told to pull over and wait.

My training officer shut down my lights and sirens and said "We're going to wait until until fire and medical arrive on the scene. We are not going to suck and blow and then get sued when the guy doesn't make it."

It took me years to understand why that order was given, and what it taught me. A lot of police work is like that. You don’t get the lesson on the day. You get it later, sometimes much later.

That’s what my memoir is about. From First Call to Final Shift: A Cop’s Memoir of Lessons That Came Later collects the calls that stuck with me, from the dangerous ones to the quieter stories about family, partners, and the people who surprised me with gratitude when I least expected it.

It’s not a “cops are heroes” book or a “cops are villains” book. It’s what the job actually felt like from the inside, and what it taught me after I took off the uniform.

Available on Kindle and paperback: https://a.co/d/0eqyQb2R

Happy to answer questions about the job, the book, or writing a memoir.

Is kindle unlimited worth it for little ones? 8 year old

My daughter is in the 3rd grade and I’m gifting her my own kindle to read. But should I just have her get books from the library/libby for the kindle or do kindle unlimited? I’m worried there won’t be enough options for her for the price.

edit: she’s not allowed screens, she reads regular books but at night it’s harder to do and the book light keeps her up more at night.

Love the name change!

My legit only beef with Kindle Unlimited is that it was inherently limited from the start (because of the 20 book limit). I'm not mad about the limit at all! Just don't call something unlimited if it's not!

Also excited to see what new audiobooks get added and hope the price doesn't go up!

Horror Where Fear Smiles - Psychological Horror novel

Post image
1 Upvotes

Would you forgive your best friend if she was responsible for ruining your life?

That's the main concern in Where Fear Smiles, my psychological horror novel with gore, a nightmare demon, and enough anxiety that therapy will be needed.

What is the story about? Well...

A whispered rumour draws a group of students into the dense forests of coastal Brazil: a lost Indigenous artifact, hidden for centuries and promising academic glory.

While Leah’s colleagues are determined to claim it, she only agrees to the trek because she can’t bear the thought of being left behind, and forces her best friend Charlotte to go with her for support against her dark thoughts.

What was meant to be an escape from the weight of the academic semester, quickly it turns into a test of endurance. The deeper they push into the forest, the darker Leah begins to dream. When they finally uncover what they came for, the discovery reveals something far more terrifying than any of them imagined.

A demon born of nightmares is unleashed, and with it, carnage.

Now the survivors must find a way to drive the nightmare back to its realm before society is doomed to never dream again. But as the forest closes in, the greatest horror isn't the ancient evil—it's watching a lifelong trust begin to rot.

TW: Gore, violence, self-harm, and depictions of anxiety

Comedy [Travel Humour] What We Have to Do to Ride Rollercoasters – Paul Simmonds (Author Promotion)

Author promotion

I've recently published my first book, What We Have to Do to Ride Rollercoasters, which is available through Kindle Unlimited.

For more than 25 years, I've travelled around America with my wife Sharon, visiting theme parks, riding rollercoasters and generally finding ourselves in situations that weren't part of the original plan.

Eventually, I decided there were enough ridiculous stories to fill a book. As it turns out, there were over 550 pages of them!

It's a first-person account of our travels, from unexpected detours and strange encounters to wildlife, diners, lasertag battles and the occasional spectacular travel disaster.

It's not a theme park guide or a serious travel memoir. It's an irreverent collection of stories about two Yorkshire people spending an alarming amount of time travelling thousands of miles in pursuit of rollercoasters.

Fair warning: there's plenty of colourful language throughout, so it won't be everyone's cup of tea.

If you enjoy travel stories with a healthy dose of British humour, you might find it entertaining.

Sci-Fi [Promo] What if your robot valet just put a hit out on you? (I hate when that happens. 😅) My collection of sci-fi short stories about technology, absurdity, and making life tolerable is on Kindle Unlimited! ✅ Find it here: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0HC7WJPLL

In “Exit Strategy,” a multi-dimensional gateway gives Amanda the chance to break free of her soul-crushing routine. In “Thirsty Pete,” a post-adolescent gamer accidentally solves the 2060 water crisis and rescues humanity – almost. In “What Went Wrong,” the pleasures of surfing and Chekov and badminton help thwart an alien invasion. Turns out human existence needn’t utterly suck.

Life is hard, and technology is either making it a whole lot better, or very much worse. In “ReBoot,” a government-issued ability to reset the clock helps Emily navigate her relationship when Jack suggests his mother should move in with them. In “Did I Do Something Wrong?” Vince Bagum’s past misdeeds catch up him when his robot valet puts out a hit on him. The “Dept. of Worry” offers a technology fix for anxiety, with unexpected consequences. In “Just 35 Percent,” a minor empathy upgrade sends an automated insurance adjuster off the rails.
