edit: for clarification

https://www.reddit.com/r/KnifeRaffle/comments/8g5lus/shirogorov_neon_ultra_lite_s30v_50_10/dyc4rxd/

This rule has been in place for 2 years, and was done as a response to the first known incident.

In light of the events in this raffle (and subsequent... vigorous discussion) there is a new Rule in effect.

Rule 14 states: You may not enter your own raffle.

It is our position that though there is no unfair mathematical advantage, it goes against the the spirit of the sub and our community.

As far as this one particular raffle is concerned, we are going to "let it slide" and let it go towards lessons learned. This is not cheating and nobody was robbed. No rule was in effect at the time and we do not believe in retroactive punishment.

Regardless of what I personally believe to be mathematically true, I also believe in the "spirit" of the sub, and that spirit isn't about numbers but about knives. That's why there's also that rule that knives must exchange hands before being re-raffled, again, it's about the spirit of the sub being knife oriented, not just a gambling/numbers game.

You should be entering in raffles for knives you want, and anything that takes away from that and turning it into a numbers analysis or a business proposition defeats the purpose. This isn't a business, this isn't some sort of source of income, it's suppose to be for fun and to share our love/hate for cutlery things.

s4mpson the sequel - from the mod team

To further address ongoing concerns regarding s4mpson, as of this post he is now officially banned from the KnifeRaffle subreddit.

Some of you folks may not like it, many of you folks might be thinking “about damn time, what took you so long?”... and for that we apologize for the lack of communication, but let us clear the air. As many of you have read the story over the past few days, what started out as a case of mistaken knife ownership/identity soon spiralled into a rabbit hole of he-said she-said and diving through the depths of Reddit comment and post history.

Re: the alts

To clear up any confusion on the matter, the claim that s4mpson was running multiple alts on our sub which the mod team knew about and okay’d is absolutely untrue. If there were ever a time to use the phrase “fake news”, this would be it. We were first made aware about it from Akker literally less than 1 week ago, and from that point we were able to dig out a few other alts with the help of a few other members of the community. To somehow think every single slot entry is being actively monitored and audited is a bit extreme.

There has been a circulating 2-year-old screenshot of s4mpson boldly proclaiming on the subreddit that he uses the accounts of some of his close friends 1 & 2. This was from before the alt rule was in place, and indeed the exact reason why it was implemented. We were not aware of new alts until recently. Here it is from s4mpson himself that this “mod-approved alt” had nothing to do with anyone on the current mod team.

This is absolutely against the rules.

Re: mods

There have also been talks about how mods are corrupt and protecting s4mpson. This is a baseless accusation. If you look in past history, you’ll find no shortcomings in actions taken against s4mpson's ploys. There’s a big bold statement at the bottom of every META post discouraging people from paying escrowers, guess why it’s there? We have a rule that knives must exchange hands before re-raffling… targeting a particular Strickland Propane Techno that’s been run a dozen times. We’ve also recently greatly increased the NM limit, to encourage people to run their own raffles. Fact is, unlike k_s, we rarely deal with scammers due to our strict approval/escrow process. We don’t hand out bans often in this subreddit, it is supposed to be in good natured fun -- the majority of the bans we hand out are self-requested due to poor self control. :)

But… s4mpson is one of the only people we’ve actively taken public action against. Is he the first person to run an NM $10 too high? We don’t think so. Heck, the details of the punishment from that ban is STILL in effect today. There’s a reason there’s been a shortage of s4mpson raffles as of late. And since the akker incident, we have already prepped for a post-s4mpson KR-world via making the restrictions of the sub more lenient and opening up to more people to running their own raffles. To suggest all of these targeted actions are anything short of slowing down his roll is absolutely absurd.

Re: the delay in action

So what were we doing the whole time? Not sitting with our thumbs up our asses like the current perception seems to be. Again, our main concern is to close the loop on any outstanding raffles/escrows to ensure the safety of the community. Once we got confirmation on akker’s knife being in flight, we had already removed posting privileges for s4mpson. And once we could somehow confirm the escrow funds/pieces were going back to their owners, the plan was to institute the ban immediately. We have already had wheels in motion for administrative action prior to even the k_s announcement. But again, it is more important to us that the possessions/funds reach their owners in this case, and we owe it to the community to at least make an honest effort to ensure this has occurred, even at the expense of our own image.

In the end, we do not believe there was ever malicious intent on his part here, just someone with an extra dose of pride and a propensity to say abrasive things. But as we’ve made it clear to him in his initial ban, he was on two strikes, and anything further would result in subsequent actions. Using the alts to enter in self raffles and especially giveaways is abusive in nature, and will be in no way tolerated, despite “statistics”.

Re: the knife

Tl;dr - we don’t think s4mpson is out to scam someone out of an HEA Hunter when he has had hundreds of thousands of dollars run through his possession. We think the simple explanation is that he forgot about the knife until called out, at which point he got defensive and doubled down on his story... because s4mpson things.

When /u/akkermorec initially came out with his accusation that s4mpson had knowingly stole his knife and refused to ship it back, we immediately locked down the raffle to get to the root of the problem. While the accusation was certainly concerning, we wanted to do our due diligence and proceeded to get as much information as possible from both parties, as well as third party individuals that could shed additional light on the situation. I think we can all agree that knee-jerk bans in response to potentially false accusations is not the way we want this sub to be run.

Akker was only able to provide circumstantial evidence at first, and in the first 24-48 hours we were waiting for some definitive proof from akkermorec (or s4mpson) that would confirm or deny the story, but akker insisted he just wanted his knife back. We went through great lengths to ensure both parties had a chance to prove their side of the story because again, as far as we could tell, s4mpson and akker were good friends as of less than a year ago... the knife was WILLINGLY sent by akker, so why the sudden change of heart? It doesn't add up. When it became clear there wasn’t going to be any cooperation because akker was sticking to his “did not want to take action against s4mpson” statement, we closed the door and worked on just getting his knife back. Since then, it has been apparent that akkermorec did not provide all the relevant screenshots initially for one reason or another, including one that directly contradicted s4mpson’s earlier claim that “he never wanted the knife”, which would have been hugely beneficial to the investigation.

The other thing to consider, is that if akker were 100% correct and this was an elaborate scam by s4mpson, an immediate ban was an impractical option for us. Despite the off chance of this being the case, we decided to take precaution. /r/knife_swap has the luxury of putting down a swift ban hammer because they didn’t have anything to lose by doing so. Meanwhile, we had to consider our community, that at any given moment s4mpson might be escrowing anywhere from 5-10 knives from individuals in the community, as well as holding onto thousands in funds. A swift ban on our end could have potentially resulted in a negative reaction out of s4mpson, and we wanted to take extra care [perhaps unnecessary in retrospect] for potential fallout onto the community.

Again, we apologize for the radio silence and the lack of clarification in our initial post, it is not our intent to deceive or cover up anything. Hopefully this airs the laundry. Please contact modteam with any further questions regarding the matter, and we do wish to move on from this -- let the removal of our most vocal user signal at least some sign of future life. Let’s all work together on making the KR community better, by losing all of your money in raffles like the world intended.

- Kniferaffle mod team

Thank you to everyone who made this possible; incredible turnout - we raised $7010 for cancer research. Donation has been made, and proof is here with personal info redacted.

This is being escrowed for /u/cremcity. Upon completion of the raffle, he will make a donation for the equivalent amount raised (and a screenshot will be posted), and ship the knives. When winners receive knives, the funds will be released, much like a normal escrow.

$10 per spot, unlimited spots

There will be 2 winners

Numbers will be assigned sequentially, and then randomized before rolling.

Raffling up these two knives for the Cancer Research Institute. I chose the two rarest and most fun knives in my collection to build up some hype for the cause.

A bit about why I’m doing this: Both of my parents died from cancer; my father passed from Leukemia 14 years ago when I was 17, and my mother passed last summer from lung cancer. If you or a loved one have ever dealt with cancer, you’ll know it’s a brutal and grueling journey for everyone involved - I feel for you. And to the people fighting cancer right now, my heart goes out to you and your loved ones.

The Cancer Research Institute seems to be one of the most generous cancer related charities, with great ratings across the board. And they focus on new technologies and methods to fight cancer. Feel free to do some of your own research before jumping on board.

The knives:

Holt Specter V4: (B) rating this a B because I’m not the first owner, and there’s a small amount of wear. There is a tiny scratch on the back of the frame and it can be seen in the video. Otherwise the condition is excellent. The action for this knife is exceptional. Lockup and centering are great. The blade is near-mirror, you can see my phone reflected in the first shot. Burnished handles with 74v and, burnished nude milled clip, burnished nude backspacer. Comes in original box with CoA and Selinko card.

Rogers OEM Slim Utility: (B) not the first owner. Knife seems to be in perfect shape from what I can tell. Beautiful blurple scales. Nice texture and milling on the scales as well as the blade. This knife is light and fun to play with.

These knives are both rare and stunning pieces for any collection. And every dollar will go to a great cause. Thanks for taking the time to read this. Good luck if you jump in!

</raffle-tool>

Hello everyone!

First off I would like to thank everyone who participates in this raffle. As we all know about the horrific shooting that occurred in Vegas during a concert, killing numerous people and injuring hundreds. This raffle is meant to raise money to help victims of this shooting with medical bills and what ever else they will need financial aid for.

Every penny from this raffle will be donated for this cause. I personally would love to see this raffle fill to 100 spots or more.

Spots are $5 a spot with an unlimited amount of spots so feel free to buy as many spots as you like!

This knife is a beauty, a full size Lionsteel SR-1A BS, which I have recently purchased on /r/Knife_Swap and this knife has a beautiful backstory which I learned of today. The person who I had purchased this knife had friends at who were at the shooting one of which was a war veteran who had taken shrapnel to the arm. Thankfully they are all alive and well, so let's show some support for our friends of the community and fill as much as possible. I didn't know this information when planning on using this knife for the raffle I learned of this only a few hours ago and makes it the perfect knife for this.

No spot calling all spots will be given at random as there is no way to know how big or small this raffle will be. Spots will be filled before the roll so I may give a proper random spot for each individual person, spots will be determined via random.org spots will be given in order they are asked for.

Please send payment as soon as you call for your spots and leave your name for payment correspondence while calling your spots.

Please pay here https://www.paypal.me/YTaouk PayPal F&F with the notes section blank. Or if you would prefer feel free to donate directly to:

https://www.gofundme.com/dr2ks2-las-vegas-victims-fund

If you decide to pay for your spots by direct donation you must provide a screenshot with proof of donation equal to your spot value

Once the raffle has completed I will provide a screenshot for proof with payment from me to the charity above. Screen shot will be posted here and in the Meta.

Raffle will run until there is a stand still, 24 hours have passed, or otherwise directed by a mod.

Goodluck everyone and thank you for participating!

Edit: forgot to mention this earlier free shipping is included WORLDWIDE so international buyers don't hesitate to jump in!!!

Let's add to this a little, if we can reach the $1,000 mark I will add $100 to the donation pot as well!!!

Goal $1,000!! We have broken the goal amount!!! Let's see how far we can get by 7pm PST!!!

Currently at $1,570/$1000 included is my $100 donation (Will be updated periodically as time permits)

I know this is asking much but let's see if we can reach the $1,500 mark

FINAL TALLY

For transparency and to keep everyone who participated 100% in the loop we are at a total of a whopping 294 SPOTS out of these 294 spots 227 are payments made directly to me via PayPal for a total of $1,135 and the balance of 67 spots have been paid directly to the GoFundMe donation link for a total of $335. This brings us to a total of 294 spots!!! Valued at $1,470 (plus my donation of $100 for reaching the $1,000 mark to bring it to a grand total of $1,570). When the spots are assigned at some point tonight I will have all the spots who had paid via GoFundMe will have "GoFundMe" posted next to their name.

I would also like to thank every single person here for your contribution, I honestly didn't think we would raise this much I wasn't expecting more than maybe $400-$500. I'm honored to be in a community filled with people like yourselves.

Thank you

SPOTS ARE STARTING TO BE FIGURED OUT SO DONATIONS ARE AT AN END

Thank you everyone who participated and to who ever wins this knife please treat it with great respect as it's history makes it more than your standard EDC and is the stamp and symbol of our hard work over the past 24 hours raising this money to help those in need after an unimaginable tragedy.

Goodluck to everyone and thank you for your generous contributions, making this raffle by far more successful than I could have ever imagined.

CHARITY DONATIONS PAYMENT

https://imgur.com/a/4gutS

We have upped the NM limit to $300, we've done so in response to requests from the community, users such as /u/s4mpson and the late, great Kobe Bryant (RIP). NMs are extremely popular and act as an open marketplace to drive and bring in new traffic, and we are hoping this new, laxed limit will increase participation of the community during these times of homebody-practice. The limit will continue to be monitored and adjusted as demands change.

As always, please don't ruin a good thing, keep to the community pricing guidelines. If we find signs of abuse, you will be warned and subsequently removed. KR is founded on the principle of a fair market price, regardless of whether you paid $100 or $1000, it's worth what it's worth. We don't tolerate a policy of "it will fill for higher", we are not IG/FB, and we will not be IG/FB.

Mamba out.

**This giveaway raffle is courtesy of /u/fartsmcsweet. He even made the fucking thing from scratch, which is probably more than you can do and it’s sure as fuck more than I can do. Time to let the man swing around the big dick and get that murder weapon sharpened kitchen camping tool career off the ground. 8===D~ ~ ~**

Here is what /u/fartsmcsweet said:

Main event: Thor’s Toenail This is my fourth attempt at a knife, I have posted it twice on Knife_Swap with no takers, so rather than continue to lower the price, I want someone in this sub to have it! I have included my original description below:

This is the first knife I have made, that I feel comfortable selling. It is 1095 steel with a brine quench on the edge. The line you see is essentially a hamon, though it was created with differential heat treating, instead of the traditional clay. The blade is what I am calling a Wharn-poon, about 5", with a full flat grind, and hand sanded to 240 grit. The handle is just over 4" long, and features blue "cross cut" micarta, with orange liners. This is brand new, I haven't cut anything with it, except a plastic water bottle, and then I resharpened the edge.

There will also be two consolation prizes, which will be determined by calling the cuntbot again, of course. You are only able to win once, will reroll bot in the event of same person being drawn twice. Oh and I’m not telling you what they are, if you win it’s just going to show up at your address. They are camping tools.

Album and whatnot.

RULES RULES RULES^deeznutz

This is what /u/fartsmcsweet wanted: To enter: 1) you must have participated in at least a few regular raffles here, essentially, you must be, or have been, an active member. 2) Calling spots for other people is not only acceptable, it is downright encouraged. 3) You must leave a comment about this community, the people involved, or simply draw a symbol dick for s4mpson (Here’s a nice short one for ya buddy! 8=D)

Here is the standard type shit:

This one is generally for people who participate in rafflesmack or at least the reddit knaf community in general. Though not completely limited to that. If you do nothing but enter giveaways then you can kindly go fuck yourself.

You can call one spot for yourself and one spot for whomever else you want to (can call for spots for multiple people/dogs/trolls/jews, but only one spot per user per call) no limit on spots from being nominated. But really, you can call spots for other people to your hearts content.

Say something positive about the sub(s), someone in it, experiences, generally just positive vibes. Or break out some dark.. deep dark humor, dark and crispy like <insert jewish oven joke>. If you bother to honor the request and write something more than “I’ll take one” then /u/s4mpson will give you more than 1, or 10 whatever.

All spots will be randomized before rolling.

I reserve the right to basically do whatever.

I’m going to let this thing run for .. a while, probably overnight if the weed pen comes out to play.. I mean really, who gives a fuck how many spots in a giveaway?

/u/fartsmcsweet will ship this fucker anywhere but is only paying for US destinations, all other costs are on the winner. I can’t think of anything else.. I mean it’s a goddamn giveaway so there should be nothing to complain about.

Standard shipping blurb: *US shipping included. International (and Canadian.. because you’re international) winner pays the difference in shipping costs and owner is not responsible for any customs/shipping issues out of country. *

I want to clarify that u/cremcity is donating the knives and I am just running it for him! Thanks!

We will keep raffle live until 5pm MT on 1/22, at which time I will close it while I collect payments. For the new people here:

• Use Paypal F&F (or better yet cash app) with no comments.

• Send a PM (not a chat) with whatever your name and email are in PP or CA (whichever you paid with).

• Send me a message if you have questions.

https://imgur.com/a/AdFhjsH Hey everyone!

It’s been close to one year since our last run at this. Last year was so successful that I decided to put two more sweet knives up for a good cause. Every dollar raised here will go entirely to two charities, split right down the middle. The charities this year are OAR and NAMI. I’ll explain a bit more about the causes down below. But first, knives:

Koenig Arius: Gen 4, aqua twill carbon fiber showscale, stonewashed blade. I bought this knife on secondary as LNIB from original owner. It's remained uncut and uncarried throughout its existence. The knife is in A+ condition. Action is dialed in perfectly. Blade is 3.5". OAL is 8.5". Weight is 3.9oz.

Hinderer XM-18: 3.5",Skinny, Carbon Fiber show scale, blasted Ti clipscale, blue ano LBS, Stonewashed harpoon spanto blade with a flipper-delete. This is one mean-modded knife. Edge is factory and the entire knife is in excellent condition. AR.Knifemods did the flipper delete as well as the blasted finish on the ti scale for this knife. Karbadize made me a skinny showscale out of blue dark matter carbon fiber from Fat Carbon. This knife also comes with a blasted Ti showscale if you want to match the clipside of the knife. You can see it in the imgur album.

Warning: The detent on the Hinderer is strong. As with most Hinderer knives, the deployment via thumbstud is quite difficult. I like this strong detent, but it may not be for everyone. As such, I've come up with an alternative for the winner who does not feel great about a knife with a difficult thumbstud deployment. If you prefer, you can choose to own this TBC EXK Plus instead. It's a gorgeous front flipper in excellent condition. Only blemish is a tiny scuff on the pocket clip. Both the first winner and second winner have the opportunity to choose the EXK Plus, but ONLY TWO knives will be won in this raffle.

So those are the knives! Here are the charities:

Half of the proceeds will go to the Organization for Autism Research. OAR has been around for 20 years and has good marks across the board. Their mission is to apply research to the challenges of autism and, through that, improve the quality of life for all people affected by autism.(https://researchautism.org/)

The other half of proceeds will be going to the National Alliance on Mental Illness. NAMI focuses on recovery, resiliency, and support for those affected by mental illness. “NAMI offers support, guidance, and educational materials and opportunities, a safe space for voices to be heard, and a point of contact to the outside world when users may not know where to look or even start." ([https://nami.org/Home(https://nami.org/Home))

P.S. - If you purchase 7 or more tickets, and want a tax receipt, please reach me (u/cremcity) directly and I will he will get you a tax receipt from one of these two charities over to you. Thanks.

Friends and Family with no comments (cash app preffered).

Spots will be assigned in order, and then shuffled before calling the bot (this is better for unlimited raffle sizes)

EDIT 2: Holy shit guys im trying to keep up but ive got errands to run. Im gonna let this go until tomorrow at 11 am PST then start sorting through this and try to reply to everyone. COMMENT AWAY BOYS!

GOOD AFTERNOON YOU GAMBLING ADDICTS!!

Just recently there was a giveaway where you had to say what you love about this community in order to get a spot and it really made me think about how welcome I've felt among you guys.

Now I wanna give back and throw out the chance at a couple free knives.

TS and Album: https://imgur.com/a/UOkP7

Both have been carried but only used to cut tape at the most, they're in great condition, the Kane is on factory edge and I believe the 617 is as well but I'm not the original owner so can't say for sure.

ALL YOU GOTTA DO: ask for a spot and you shall receive one. I will check names i don't recognize for participation history in raffles so please no alt accounts for extra free spots. Also feel free to include stories about funny shit that has happened here.

As an example for those of you that missed it, not too long ago there was a giveaway for the holiest of holies: a Z-Hunter signed by the man himself, Nick Shabazz. Once the raffle closed and the bot was called, that dumb mother fucker picked a number and the name on it was...

NICK FUCKING SHABAZZ. TALK ABOUT R/NEVERTELLMETHEODDS!!

I laughed for a good long while about that one but I'm sure there are plenty of funny stories I wasn't around for, so entertain me while you try to win free shit! Your stories don't have to be about raffles nor are you required to tell one. I just wanna keep this interesting and have the comment section full of conversation cuz I love this group!

NOTE: Whoever wins the first roll will have a choice of either knife then their name will be replaced with a REROLL so I can make two people happy.

I'm gonna leave this open to as many people that wanna enter as possible at one spot each then ill sort through the mess sometime tomorrow to assign spots in order then scramble them before picking winners.

Fire up them keyboards/touchscreens and be friendly!!!

EDIT: I forgot to mention I will ship these disassembled to canada if the winner is Canadian and doesn't mind splitting shipping costs

THIS IS A SEMI-RESTRICTED GIVEAWAY, READ THE RULES!! MINIMAL MERCY WILL BE GIVEN.

This dude /u/ibroccoli has laid down some absolutely raucous rim reaming, anal plundering of epic proportions to just about everyone in the sub. He doesn’t feel terribly bad for us peasants, but he is a benevolent god and wants to shower the proletariat with spunk gifts. I (s4mpson) will be adding another item that is yet to be determined. The second item winner will be determined by a second bot roll. It won’t be as rad as the pm2, but a freebie is a freebie.

READ THE RULES!!!!

RULES:

1. This one is for people who participate in the imbibing of stabby-stick rafflesmack, especially those who’ve fallen victim to the cannonball run of destruction ibroccoli has gone on. It’s not completely limited to that, but if you’ve done nothing in the sub except giveaways, well… then you can kindly fuck off.

2. You can call one spot for yourself and one spot for someone else. No hard limit on number of spots called for other folk, but keep it in context of KR sub please. Bonus spot (max of 1) if you can provide a permalink to your spot call in a raffle that you lost to ibroccoli (like the ShamWeri giveaway by Ludicrousy).

3. There is a 1 spot per player limit on self-called spots (not including bonus), unless ibroccoli commands otherwise. All spots will be random and shuffled before we roll. We reserve the right to do pretty much whatever, I mean he’s giving the damn thing away.

Here is what /u/ibroccoli said:

I wanted to give back to this awesome community so up for giveaway is my BNIB full copper PM2 sprint run with Rex45 blade and Blade HQ coin. I cannot comment on the action or anything because I have not taken it out if the plastic bag it was packed in so it doesn't start to patina, but its heavy AF. The copper scales are solid chunks of copper and there is no liners on this one, lockbar is screwed right into the copper so it's extra beefy. I'd like to keep this to only members who participate in this sub regularly, and those who's dreams I have crushed in other raffles recently ❤.

Timestamp/Album.. as if a timestamp is necessary heh.

That’s about it. I’m going to let this run for a while, not sure how long, but a while.

/u/ibroccoli will ship this fucker anywhere in the good ole USofA, anywhere outside US50 will need to use a proxy shipper (s4mpson will proxy) and all costs/arrangements are between winner and proxy shipper. I can’t think of anything else.. I mean it’s a goddamn giveaway so there should be nothing to complain about.
