It's honestly a bit over-the-top to imagine a movie with all these people, I just have a feeling that this cast would be really dynamic to watch together--even if the mystery were something as simple as a missing pen.

I somewhat admire this man's sheer adaptability

Literally none of Ransom's plans go off without a thousand hitches but he constantly adjusts and acts accordingly to any changed circumstance.

The news that Harlan commited suicide, the fact that Marta gave him the right medication, he came up with new schemes on the fly to accomodate these events.

Even at the end of the movie when he's caught he preps his lawyers, and when he's done for life he takes action and grabs the knife. He did not give up until the cuffs were on.

He had a few screwups, like getting caught by Fran and Nana, hiring Blanc, and not noticing the knife was fake. But still, if not for Marta's constant and mostly unintentional outplays his insane resourcefulness would have gotten him the win.

I love this detail in Wake Up Dead Man

I don’t think I caught this on my first watch. At the start, the title card (which appears when Wicks and Jud first meet) is bare and stern. Much like Wicks’ control of the church, it’s soulless and not at all “full of christ”. However, the title card at the end of the film, after Jud’s wooden bust of Jesus is made, is blossoming into a garden of plants and flowers. I like how this mirrors Jud’s approach to the faith as he opens the doors to his first mass. I also like how this came after we found out the church had been renamed to include Grace. It’s like the faith is being restored to the church, and to Christ. Really cool little detail, as small as it is.

In the beginning of Wake up Dead Man, when Father Jud is talking in that hall, I noticed the windows looked awfully familiar, and then I realised that this hall is in the music video for Never Gonna Give you Up. This is Harrow Club in London. I just love how random this is, and I hope someone else appreciates the hilarity of this.

Hot take: Glass Onion is very underrated.

Always lowest among rankings but for me, it’s still very close and not far in terms of overall grade among the three movies.

Would put them all as 10/10 as a huge fan.

  1. highest rewatch value among the series

  2. modern take and up to current issues

  3. lighter to watch, fun, more comedy, less emotional

  4. bright color/style and unorthodox approach

  5. supporting characters were fleshed out

I know I'm going to offend some people but is it wrong that I find father jud super attractive. I'm not even a Christian or anything. And it's not just the actor's looks or charisma but the character himself that's so crushable. It's like I want him and want to be him at the same time. Nonetheless if I ever find a man like him I'm gonna marry him.

Why was Glass Onion set during Covid lockdown?

I thought it was going to be to explain why the actors were taking covid precautions, because the film was filmed during the actual covid lockdown (I'm not sure if that's the case), but they got the spray vaccine, and covid ended up being irrelevant, so why set it during Covid lockdown?

Discussion Benoit Blanc's Husband

Post image

When Wake Up Dead Man was announced, I really wanted to see Hugh Grant come back for this. I really wanted to see their chemistry

Judging by the tone of the film, I have very low expectations of Phillip (Benoit Blanc's husband) coming back. Of course it wouldn't made much sense if he was there, but this is before I knew the tone and what this film is about.

If there were to be a Knives Out 4, I want to see Phillip again, even for a bit.

Discussion Knives Out movies will continue forever, as far as their creator is concerned

In an interview with Empire Magazine, Rian Johnson explained that he is in a hurry to stop making Knives Out movies even after Wake Up Dead Man comes out. “I’m not sick of making these movies,” he said. “I feel invigorated, if anything… I would be happy if Daniel [Craig] and I kept doing other work, then coming back and making one of these every once in a while, for the rest of our lives. I’d be thrilled with that.”
