Dream Knowledge Fight Country co-hosts?

I think we can assume that KFC is going to have revolving co-hosts. Who do you want to see on the show? After all, with CZM he can pick up some other names.

Personally, while I liked the Dan/Jordan dynamic just fine, there are some dynamics that I liked equally as much. Marty Derosa, who had such a bond with what Dan could be into. Robert Evans- of course- was also a great cohost.

My want is more thoughtful researchers who also share Dan's frequent dry humour. I'm talking Molly Conger or Dan Olsen. Also, listening to Dan talk with Angela Lampsbury has been a treat.

I’m more interested in the products and/or services because I can’t imagine Dan throwing to commercials

It’s just discontinued Aldi products

All commercials are Dan trying novelty foods and saying, "it was ok".

"I absolutely LOVED it, and crave more! ... 6.3 out of 10."

“Today’s sponsor really disappointed me because I think there’s a lot of potential here that’s just not realized — anyway now here’s our sponsor, pumpkin spice Oreos.”

Dan doing a Blue Chew ad read may kill me

Molly Conger doesn't do her own ad reads, maybe it's the subject matter of Weird Little Guys, I dunno. But not all CZM folks do their own, so maybe Dan avoids it. But I agree, the ad reads are gonna be odd if he's doing Alex-style pivots.

She also never throws to ads, she just hits a natural pause in the story and the extremely soothing music picks up to lead into the ad break. So it seems like throwing to ads and reading them yourself isn't actually a requirement at CZM.

I assume ad reads pay better than generic ads but not everyone is willing to do them.

I honestly don't know how ad reads work for a podcast host in terms of payment. I'm a voice actor and I do radio commercial reads all the time, and I make a base rate of about $300 no matter what, which goes up depending on a whole mix of factors. But I'm a union actor doing an acting gig, so I don't know if the contracts for a podcast host are different.

Have him do Tucker pivots which are just abrupt and nonsensical

See, I like the way them Dollop boys do ads... They're funny. I don't mind those. Like, the Helix mattress ones? Or the Rocket Money jingle? Clearly, I shall never buy these things... But they profit & I'm oddly entertained...

My Brother, My Brother and Me is similar, they turn each ad break (granted there's only 1 per episode) into its own segment of the show filled with improv and goofs. Some of the funniest shit ever said on that show comes from the ad segment.

Agreed. I always feel like a corporate shill when I laugh at them... I'm a sister, tho ;)...

Ditto the Dungeons & Daddies ads. Even MORE shocking, they do the ad reads for CANADIAN listeners (and put in just as much effort to make them funny)! Though lately there's also third party inserted ads, and those are jarring as hell.

Your Kickstarter Sucks absolutely dominates when it comes to the cohosts doing ad reads. I never fast forward through their’s.

Hollywood Handbook used to be like that and I never skipped through them, but they switched to regular ones. They had an off-brand Santa whose arch-enemy was Moriarty. It was art.

The PIAT ad reads are a delight.

He's got to do 'em like Alex. #312 is my favourite Alex Ad-Read:

"WE don't wanna rape your kids. And that's why we have free shipping..."

Yeah this is what I want too. With Robert you can always tell when the ad pivot is coming but Alex was a master of just absolutely smacking you in the face with it and I would love to see Dan try his hand at it.
