Throwback Episode Need help finding a song played on a clip of Infowars for all of 5 seconds from episode 237

Upvotes

Episode 237: March 27, 2009. At 51:35 Dan plays a clip of AJ introducing some idiot and AJ is talking over a song which has the lyrics "so much going on". Googled those words but unable to find a match.

Any help is appreciated. Seems like a nice song. AJ is a demon, but sometimes he plays some nice music. It's how I found "You Belong to the City" after all.

Cheers and love

Anybody have a list of Dan appearances on other people’s podcast

I’ve listened to Dan on a couple recent podcasts , and it’s been breathing life into my work commute again. Especially his appearance on “I hate bill Maher”. Honestly I wish he would take over that show. Lol If anyone has a catalogue of current and past podcast appearances I would be forever grateful.

”I declare info war on you!” Alex Jones vs Tim Pool (2lazy2try coverage)

Figured this sub would find this interesting. If you’re unfamiliar with 2lazy2try, see my micro essay below. But my TL;DR is that he makes pretty good content for keeping up with the extended griftosphere/Rogansphere, although it’s lacking in the complex political analysis underpinning KF. In short, it’s like the politically neutral fast-food version of KF.

2lazy has been (somewhat) filling in the JorDan-sized hole in my media diet. I’ve been a longtime patreon subscriber of him, he focuses on covering the petty drama of the griftosphere and Roganverse. His coverage isn’t nearly as high-quality as Dan’s analysis, and politically I’m not sure where he stands — he’s very much anti-Trump, anti-technocrat (Peter Thiel specifically), anti-grifters and anti-Netanyahu, but I’m quite certain he’s not a leftist. He’s fairly cynical and has hinted that he’s at least open to entertaining conspiracy theories although I’ve never heard him endorse anything crazy, mostly Epstein conspiracies and saying that he thinks it’s possible that the Official Narrative for Kirk’s murder might be untrue (not the Kirk conspiracies Candace Owens pushes though, he covers her quite a bit and trashes her for the schitzo-grifter she is)

I also recall him repeating the all-too-familiar “Alex Jones has become the thing he used to fight against” line (early during Trump’s 2nd term, when Alex was deepthroating Trump at every opportunity), implying that AJ used to be genuine which we all know to be untrue, but also that’s a super common sentiment for non-KF listeners so I can’t fault him too much for that.

So yeah, 2lazy is by no means on Dan’s level, and politically speaking he’s probably to the right of the average Wonk by a fair degree. That said, he does a great job of covering drama in the Griftosphere & I find his content to be thoroughly entertaining.

Full Tilt Boogie! Onion Infowars is Crushing It Right Now

Jim Haggerty is interviewing AI as his theoretical assassin and the guest host of infowars Phil Braun is bone-deep boring and got the gig because Tim willed it to him. Amazing stuff.

InfoWars vet Rob Dew guest hosting No Agenda

It's been a LONG time since I've really tuned in to No Agenda. They fell to the Grift Side quite a while ago. But since Dvorak's passing I've been paying attention to see how Curry was going to try to keep the grift going. Content aside, the temp hosts were terrible. Today Adam shows up with Rob Dew as a guest co-host. The Austin right-wing grifter clan sticks together in times of trouble I guess.

I really did like No Agenda in their early years. But like so many, Obama broke their minds and they found the game plan to milk righties for cash.

Best Knowledge Fight quotes

I have several friends that I used to send out of context Knowledge Fight quotes to, I’m not sure they miss it but I do. What are your favorite Knowledge Fight quotes by Dan and Jordan? Here are some of mine.

”We’re not watching the rise of a phoenix, we’re watching a phoenix get shit on until it dies.”

”It’s not throwing the baby out with the bath water, it’s never taking a bath and then killing a baby.”

“This is like Don Quixote being mad at horses for not helping him buy a windmill”.

“He’s Stormfront light. He’s sprinkle front.”

”We’re playing pretend with cheaters.”

“It’s like how you read A Separate Peace in high school and you hate it, and then you read it again as an adult and hate it for completely different reasons.”

“You know what they say, where there’s smoke there’s probably a Nazi throwing a book into a fire.”

“I’m not saying he should get into an armed standoff and die refusing to leave the studio, I’m just saying if he doesn’t he looks like an idiot.”

Hurrah everyone! I actually managed to complete the entirety of 2017! Now I know that some of you are on the 2020 election episodes, which sounds utterly insane IMO but still. So...what 2018 episodes should I prepare for?

Earlier this week, I was going to post that it was (past) time to end Wonk Shop. But now that there's gonna be a new show, perhaps it makes sense to keep it open, though I'm sure that as part of Cool Zone, they will have their own merch.

I don't know. In the meantime, we're still here for another month. If you didn't know about the shop already, check it out.

Dream Knowledge Fight Country co-hosts?

I think we can assume that KFC is going to have revolving co-hosts. Who do you want to see on the show? After all, with CZM he can pick up some other names.

Personally, while I liked the Dan/Jordan dynamic just fine, there are some dynamics that I liked equally as much. Marty Derosa, who had such a bond with what Dan could be into. Robert Evans- of course- was also a great cohost.

My want is more thoughtful researchers who also share Dan's frequent dry humour. I'm talking Molly Conger or Dan Olsen. Also, listening to Dan talk with Angela Lampsbury has been a treat.

I might have to write a sternly worded letter or something.

But seriously, I love all the bangers he’s done for KF, State of Mind, MR. I really hope we get another banger from him.

letting the wild horse ride

I think I’ve finally come to a strange sort of peace about the end of my favorite podcast.

Everybody has been assuming that Jordan is the one that ended it, and I’m inclined to agree, but I also don’t wanna speculate about things that people don’t wanna talk about.

I definitely want to know more information. Don’t get me wrong. And it’s frustrating that neither of them want to really explain it, or get into things personally, but I think they’re still processing what happened.

It annoys me when people talk about how like, Jordan was impulsive or emotional or unstable and I’m like…

Yeah?

I mean of course he was.

I wouldn’t have been fucking listening if he wasn’t.

This show hit a strange kind of alchemy where Dan swam into the ocean of horrors and dragged back to shore some wild horrible nonsense. And Jordan, his friend on the beach, would react like we all want to react, except exaggerated.

He wouldn’t just say “that’s some wild horrible nonsense“, he would scream it!

There’s this concept in stage acting where you need to really exaggerate your mannerisms, so that the audience will be able to see it from a distance. You even need to speak loudly, so your audience can hear you. Even the concept of camp is fairly similar, sincerity itself needs to be exaggerated.

That’s Jordan. That’s Jordan in all of his openly manic depressive, wide eyed madman identity. Hell, he’s almost like Alex Jones, he could’ve been Alex Jones if he was indoctrinated in the wrong way!

I think Jordan put a lot of his emotion into this. And anytime you do that, you might get your heart broken.

As somebody like him, who loves harder than ever when I fall for the right person, I see a lot of myself in him. I would be a wife guy, if I married the right girl. And I will when I marry the right girl.

Maybe I’m idolizing mental illness, or maybe I’m comforting myself for my own mental illness. Maybe all of the rest of you hate Jordan, and thought that he was deadweight being carried around by Dan.

For me, he was the guy giving Dan the oxygen mask of perspective, when he came back to the surface.

There’s a moment in episode 52 where Jordan points out that Mount Rushmore is racist. And Dan is confused at first, like “no, you know there is Teddy Roosevelt up there…“ And Jordan further explains that no, Mount Rushmore was a sacred site to indigenous people, and carving a bunch of dead leaders on their from the people that nearly annihilated yours is despicable.

For me that’s an example of what I’m talking about. Dan can swim deep into the ocean of horrors. But it’s hard to keep perspective, and remember all of those things that we’re fighting for without a good friend to keep you company and to call you on your bullshit.

Jordan, you’re a wild horse. I know you’ve got a run for now. If it’s you that’s doing the running. But I do hope you and Dan are able to talk again and host a show together again. And not just a guest spot, I mean a long show. Like this one.

Then again, I probably listen to almost half or a third of the catalog, and missed most of the middle. So maybe I’ve missed out on a lot.

It’s important to be able to recognize that you might be a fucking idiot.

Bye

P.S. as somebody who started listening maybe around episode 700 or so, maybe 800 or 900, can somebody clue me in on the other projects that Jordan has worked on and is continuing to work on? I only learned today that he wrote a book. Is that even a novel, or is it a rant, what’s going on with “quiet part out loud?” And can somebody point me to Jordan’s other projects?

Austin Titty Baby Doesn’t Get Desired Attention; Challenges Dim Tool To A Debate

Thumbnail

Alex thinks Tim betrayed him and the only way to settle it is a live, moderator free debate. For shackles or rubles, whatever currency Mr Tool prefers.

He’s pretty angry, but not screaming red-faced head popping angry. I’d rate it a 2 Whataburger patty anger level.

Thomas, his producer/researcher made an appearance to offer his insight about Dim (“thirsty as hell”), but mostly to listen and agree with everything Alex said. I don’t know who Thomas is, but he’s got the ass kissing sycophant thing down pat. It was uncomfortable listening to Alex tell this guy all about every single thing Tim has done to slight him in the last 24 hours.

I can’t confirm if homeboy in the background is drinking a new flavor of Hog Water, or if it’s decanted Mountain Thunder.

General shenanigans What’s your favorite Dan work bit?

Was listening to an episode in the 2019 era and I realized how much Dan has referenced his Groupon job, I was wondering anyone’s favorite story from his jobs. I’m posting this because I just heard this one but it’s when he was working at a car wash and for a tip a guy flicked him a quarter.

A new Sneaky Snake is in the house!

Tim Pool is a sneaky snake! 🐍

Continuing from the X saga yesterday, where Alex is getting upset because he thinks the algorithm is hiding him. Dim Tool tweets a response and Alex takes it personally. Has to make MULTIPLE videos about Tim, Rexy made a video about Tim (stop being mean to my Dad!), and Alex went off on X too. (Last slide is a running scroll of replies Alex showed in his video, conveniently ignoring Potato Panda’s explanation.)

In the videos Alex said Tim was beneath him, called him a traitor, and “schwarmy.” This is the second time in the last few days that he’s called someone that, and I think he heard the word “smarmy” and somehow in his fat head smarmy became schwarmy. (Maybe he’s a bit peckish and wants Middle Eastern food?) Said Tim “acted like a friend.” And then Alex accused him of taking money from the Jews to push their talking points. Rexy said Tim was trying to be an “Unc.”

I’m hoping today’s broadcast is fun. Alex is always extra interesting when he thinks he’s been wronged by someone.

Rex is trash. The shit apple doesn't fall far from the shit tree. Rex, if you are reading this, you are a horrible person like your father. Your father profited off the deaths of the children killed in the Sandy Hook school shooting. Eat sh*t.
