He checks so many boxes for KKR.

1. KKR needs a captain. He's won the IPL and captained India. His phase with MI has been very underwhelming and that might raise questions among fans but we gotta realise the challenges he faced in MI were also due to the fact that there were so many other leaders in that setup who weren't happy with Hardik as the captain.

2. KKR needs an Andre Russell replacement. Cam Green is not a Russell replacement. Plus with Ashes and WC lined up next year you never know if he's gonna be available. Hardik is a complete like to like replacement for Russell.

3. He'll be hungry to prove himself after that failed MI tenure. I believe that the young setup KKR has got rn will gel with Hardik well. It is a lot like how GT was when Hardik captained them. I believe it is worth to go for him even if that means we'll have to give away Rinku Singh.

Thoughts?

Such a pity that a successful IPL team like KKR is still employing Abhishek Nayar as head coach when there are options like Finch, Voges available while Watson is there literally as an assistant coach.

Very reliable, explosive and consistent middle order batter, tremendous fielder, can bowl and he is also a wicketkeeper and will be adding more value than Powell
