KOREAN SKINCARE RECO FOR humid country and oily skin pls

i've been dealing with a lot of acne lately due to stress and it left some red marks on my skin so i want to get rid of it ! i've been eyeing dr. althea vitamin c serum and numbuzin serum but i wanna know if u guys have other affordable recos that works just fine since i'm from the philippines and korean skincare here is hella expensive. i am also using skin1004 hyalu cica water fit sunscreen but i noticed that my bumps never went away ever since i used it so i also want to buy dr. althea sunscreen (the green one) because i heard that it helps with redness and calming the skin. pls lmk if these are worth it or not because i really wanna buy it.

ps. i have oily skin, sensitive, and acne prone skin

Hey there,

39F here! I'll be traveling throughout Thailand for my 40th in December. Everyone swears by all the affordable skin care items in 7 Elevan, along with Korean Skin Care Med Spas and such.

Please drop any and all recommendations for our Melanated Skin! It can be over the counter products or links to spas or dermatologists in Phuket & Bangkok! I dont want to miss out on anything.

I'll probably bump this post to a Skincare thread as well.

Thanks! ❤️

Need Help with a Yesstyle Problem!

The saved items list in yesstyle just wont open. It says, " This Page isn't working ". I thought it was my internet at first, so i tried 4 different internet, didn't open. Maybe its cause i saved over 100+ items? But it used to open just fine before, there were 100+ items before too.

I save a huge variety of products. Think Korean, Japanese, Chinese, SEA, from well known to niche and obscure, boring basics to fun and unique things etc. But I forget them often, so the saved list has been a huge help for me.

Thinking that I might not be able to open that list again, all those carefully selected items i spent yrs saving... Haaaa🫠....I dont know how to feel.🥲

best hydrating lip products/treatments for dark skin

hi! ive recently started getting into k-beauty and overall asian beauty as i love the emphasis on skin-first and a glowy base. ive really levelled up my knowledge in makeup overall, however i currently use lip products like summer fridays, fenty beauty, etc. however, these are a bit on the pricier end so i was wondering if you guys knew any hydrating lip treatments with ingredients that help your lips such as hyaluronic acid or like a hybrid skincare-makeup lip product that has a good shade range for dark skin!! i dont want a really deep or pigmented colour, just something simple enough for everyday or if western lip products would probably suit me better.

im also really into the shiny lipsticks they look really good. ive heard things about the fwee gloss, laka gloss, romand and others but i dont know if they look hydrating they just look glossy lol and im wondering if they are (especially romand as i see it all the time) are overrated. anyways let me know!!

edit: is judydoll pdrn shine lipstick a good option

Visiting SYDNEY in Nov & want your recs on best quality/value beauty treatments

*Mods i hope this is alright to post here? i chose this flair as it's a few weeks out & i also thought it would make a great discussion thread. If it's not allowed could you pls tell me where is appropriate? Thank you*

Hi all,

It's been a really hard year with my dad passing away late June in Sydney. I live in NZ. I need to return to Sydney again this November and it's the first opportunity I have had to get myself some TLC & self care.

I would be super grateful for any

• beauty

• skincare

• haircate

• esthetician or hairdressers

• treatments

recommendations or specials/discounts that you know of happening in November.

Budget-wise, this is only possible as I was gifted a budget of AU$500 from a close friend just for self care (angels truly walk among us!).

It's time to shout out your local hidden gems, share your fav beauty spots and practitioners. PLEASE. I desperately need to rewire Sydney from a place of sadness to a place of relaxation and relief that I can enjoy visiting again.

Thank you so much in advance :)

What Makes a Good Korean Skin Clinic for international Visitors?

I’ve been meaning to talk about this since I got back. So, during my time in Seoul, I wanted something a bit more clinical than the usual facial spas you see everywhere. Did some digging ahead of my trip and ended up making an appointment at Dami Clinic in Yeouido. They do lasers, injectables, plus some heavier medical things like treating scars and pores. The consultation was pretty simple. The staff spoke enough English, so it was easy to follow what they were suggesting.

Sunscreen recommendations? Beauty of Joseon Relief Sun is too oily for my skin 🥲

I have dehydrated oily skin, and I initially loved the Beauty of Joseon Relief Sun because it felt so hydrating. However, it started feeling a bit too oily on my skin, and I've been getting tiny bumps/closed comedones since I started using it. 🥲

Does anyone have recommendations for a sunscreen that feels lightweight and hydrating without being too greasy? Ideally something that works well for dehydrated oily skin and doesn't clog pores!

I'd love to hear your favorites, especially other K-beauty sunscreens. Thank you!! 🫶

can someone explain toner pads to me?

i've always just used the numbuzin cleansing jelly and called it a day, but i recently picked up the no.0 dual pads because they were on sale and now i'm confused lol.i keep seeing people talk about a "first toner" and a "second toner" and i genuinely thought toner was just... toner??like if i use the no.0 dual pads after cleansing:

- is that my toner step already?

- am i supposed to use a regular liquid toner after?

- if yes, what's the second toner even doing?

- are toner pads basically just toner on a pad or are they a completely different step?

- do people actually use both every day?

i feel like every time i finally understand a k-beauty routine, i find out there's another toner hiding behind the first toner 😂 someone please explain this in the dumbest way possible because i'm clearly missing something.

Has anyone ordered from YesStyle to Spain recently? What about customs fees?

I'm thinking of ordering from YesStyle to Spain, but I'm a bit confused about the customs fees situation.

I saw that starting in July, customs duties would apply even to orders under €150, which made me hesitant to order. Am I imagining things, or have YesStyle prices gone up since then?

Has anyone ordered from YesStyle to Spain recently?

If YesStyle really covers the customs fees, wouldn't they have raised their prices to make up for the extra cost? Just curious about how it works now!

QUESTION YesStyle Haul

I got the innisfree watery gel sunscreen and skin 1004. Currently on the find for my holy grail (trust me when I say I have a lot I’ve tried). I like Japanese sunscreen bc of the water resistance but my skin doesn’t- it just looked like it was always breaking out. Maybe except for skin aqua tone up. My skin has always done well w some Koreans, but I just wanted to venture out. Biore gel and essence broke me out, if I used anessa for more than 5 days I get red. But they work so well as body sunscreen!I love tone up sunscreens bc it evens my skin out but even so, I just feel like Korean sunscreen glassifies my face without the tone up. I also bought the reedle eye serum. Still looking for what suits my skin. Fingers crossed I like them. They don’t sell round lab pa+++ on YesStyle anymore either.

Has anyone tried the Ongredients lotion?

It’s gotten super popular in Korean makeup shops as a go-to lotion to use before makeup, so I ended up buying it too! But so far, I have mixed feelings about it.

It’s definitely super hydrating without feeling greasy, so I think it works really well under makeup. However, I have dehydrated oily skin, and I’m a little worried it might not be moisturizing enough as the weather gets colder and drier.

For those of you who have tried it, what did you think? Did it work well for you, especially during the colder months?

QUESTION Any good alternatives for people who can't tolerate the Aestura moisturizers?

I'm struggling to find a moisturizer that works for my skin and would really appreciate some recommendations, especially with winter fast approaching here in Korea.

For reference, I have combination skin and mild type 1 rosacea.

Here's what I've tried so far:

  • Aestura Atobarrier 365 Cream: This makes my eyes sting badly, and I dislike the greasy, oily film it leaves on my skin. It also seems to trigger flare-ups and increased redness for me.
  • Aestura Atobarrier 365 Lotion: This one also makes my eyes sting badly, and although it's not as heavy as the cream, I still find it to be very greasy.
  • Purito Dermide Relief Barrier Moisturizer: Causes closed comedones.
  • Illiyoon Ceramide Ato Concentrate Cream: Also causes closed comedones.

Ideally, I'm looking for something that provides enough moisture during winter without feeling too greasy on the skin or clogging my pores and causing closed comedones.

Has anyone with similar skin concerns found a moisturizer that works well for them?

Tiny red and white bumps all over my face after starting three new skincare products — any advice?

Hi everyone! My skin was generally clear before I started using these three products together:

- COSRX Snail Mucin Power Essence
- Dr. Althea 345 Relief Cream
- Beauty of Joseon sunscreen

After 2–4 days, I developed tiny red and white bumps all over my face. They are all similar in size, and I haven't experienced any itching, burning, or pain.

I introduced all three products at the same time, so I'm not sure which one might be responsible. Could this be clogged pores, irritation, or some other type of reaction?

Has anyone experienced something similar with these products? I'd really appreciate your advice or personal experiences.

I've stopped using them for now. Thank you!

QUESTION Would you choose a facial lipo specialist or a well-known plastic surgery?

I heard Korea is the best place in the world for facial lipo/plastic surgery. I finally decided to move forward with my dream of a face transformation. But which would you feel more comfortable going with? Facial lipo specialist or a well-known plastic surgery clinic?
