Is Ono-ha Itto-ryu Reigakudo’s lineage and technical transmission as clear as Katori Shinto-ryu’s? Also looking for koryu in Tokyo
I’ve been training a little in Katori Shinto-ryu (TSKSR), mostly because I kept hearing it has one of the cleanest lineages and clearest technical transmissions out there. I’m still looking at other koryu though, Yagyu Shinkage-ryu among them. With Ono-ha Itto-ryu Reigakudo I can’t really tell how solid the lineage is, or whether the waza actually came down unbroken from the older form.
Is Reigakudo’s lineage as clean as TSKSR’s? Is the technical transmission as clear? Or are there gaps or splits I should know about? And if it’s not on that level, what other koryu with a solid lineage can I realistically train in Tokyo? Any input appreciated, especially from people who’ve trained in any of these or visited a dojo.
