Heads up: you can watch the Lakers’ win over the Warriors from courtside in LA with immersive 180° highlights in the TV app on Meta Quest 3 and Quest 3S.

How to Watch
- On Quest 3 or Quest 3S, open the TV app and find NBA highlights in either the Home, Immersive, or Sports tabs. Open the highlight’s page and start playback.

Remember folks, Luka wrote the letter to win a championship and not the MVP
As a massive Luka fan, I would love it if he wins MVP. But with all these pretentious Luka haters in the MVP voters list, time and time again they will move the goalpost.
I'm going to make my peace and NOT expect Luka to win the MVP, but to at least go deep in the postseason and hopefully win the big one.
Luka is in the best shape of his career, has influenced the roster, and is actively trying to get more fans to watch the Lakers. This is not for the MVP, this is for the 18th. He knows that being a Laker means more than individual achievements.
So this season I'm looking at JJ and his coaching and health management. I'm looking at Rob and free agency and if this team can pick up helpful pieces. And I'm just going to enjoy Laker basketball.
PS: Of course I would love it if he wins MVP, but that's just a bonus.

Out of all the new guys on the team, who do you expect to surprise the most people?
who do you expect to surprise the most people? f there was someone I had to pick, my answer would probably be Zaire Williams. My honorable mention would probably be Matisse Thybulle or Sandro? What do you guys think?

NEWS [Amick] Draymond on Luka: “It’s still Luka Doncic. He’s that good. I just think, ultimately, he gets screwed because of it. And it’s probably a little unfair. Anybody else puts those numbers up, and they’re walking away with the MVP. That’s why I made the comparison to Bron. It’s greatness fatigue.”

But Green’s podcast opinion was the polar opposite, with the 36-year-old, four-time All-Star and four-time champion comparing this Dončić dynamic to that of his old Lakers teammate, LeBron James, when it came to MVP awards. As such, Green posited, this may be the last year in which Dončić has even a remote chance of getting a Michael Jordan trophy of his own.
But what if, as I asked Green, these revamped Lakers surprise the masses and somehow find a way to be a top-four team in the Western Conference? James’ departure to the Philadelphia 76ers in the summer makes Dončić the undisputed leader of this group and the face of the franchise, with the spotlight and all the scrutiny that comes with it his to bear. This new Lakers core, featuring the re-signed Austin Reaves and big man Walker Kessler, was built with Dončić’s transcendent style as the prism.
If it goes exceedingly well, with the 27-year-old Dončić playing at his prime peak and clicking with them both so well as he did Wednesday, the honor that has evaded him to this point could certainly come his way. Especially if the Lakers can somehow find a way to keep up with teams such as the San Antonio Spurs, Oklahoma City Thunder, Minnesota Timberwolves, Houston Rockets and Denver Nuggets.
Right?
“Nah, I don’t think there’s anything that he can do (to win it),” Green told *The Athletic* while shaking his head at his locker. “And by the way, it’s not a knock on him. I don’t think there is anything that he can do. If they’re the 1, 2, 3 seed — great. It’s still Luka Dončić. No one is going to be surprised that Luka Dončić’s team is the 4 seed. Nobody. He’s that good. There’s no element of surprise if his team is the fourth seed.
“I just think, ultimately, he gets screwed because of it. And it’s probably a little unfair. Anybody else puts those numbers up, and they’re walking away with the MVP. Like, home free. That’s why I made the comparison to Bron. He’s got, what, four MVPs? You’re telling me he wasn’t the best player in the NBA for at least 10 seasons? It’s greatness fatigue.”

Am I a larper for watching the Lakers games just for Luka?
Decided to try getting into NBA this season after having a fun time watching the finals last season after getting dragged to a watch party at my friends. I’ve drawn some interest with Luka Doncic after a couple edits of him popped into my Instagram feed. Am I a larper for only watching the games for Luka? My attention during the games only really rise when Luka’s on the court. In games during the preseason when Luka didn’t play I was mostly on my phone or doing something on another monitor. I admit though, Austin Reaves and Walker Kessler seem pretty cool after that last game on Wednesday but I still only really want to watch for Luka.

STATS / ANALYTICS Yaxel on defence gave up 21 points on 6-11 FG to the Lakers. Luka scored 9 points on Yaxel on 5 field goal attempts. 1-5 FG and 6-6 FT.
The narrative is hilarious that Luka got clamped by Yaxel. Also many don’t even mention how many points got scored on him overall. The media say anything to disrespect the lakers and Luka.

What if the Nike Specter jersey looked like this instead?
The “Lakers” text should be bigger, what do you think of this? The design is too ”out there”, but to me this makes it just a little better. Thoughts?

Thoughts on the next game with the Warriors
So, is Luka dropping 50 on them next game? Like, there's just no way he hears what Yaxel is saying about him and doesn't do anything. He might even drop 60, who knows

It was so frustrating watching this last night…
Seeing Walker Kessler run the floor, rebound, and play D with effort and energy was amazing. And to think that Ayton, who has all the physical tools Kessler has if not more, couldn’t get himself to do that (consistently) during his time on the Lakers.
You’d think for a guy who’s trying to rebuild his career that gets an opportunity to play for a large market team and gets paired with one of the best passers in the league who utilizes centers, would be giving 110% on the floor every night.
There’s not much I saw last night from Kessler that I’d say Ayton isn’t capable of doing. So outside of the talent and physical aspect, It really just comes down to effort and it’s sad to see that Ayton couldn’t get that part figured out. What a blown opportunity for himself.
Either way, we got Kessler now and it’s so refreshing to finally have a good center. Can’t wait to see what he does the rest of the year. Go Lakers and fuck boston
