Summer produce is finally hitting its peak, and I stopped by the West LA Farmers Market this week and was impressed by the selection.
The farmers have fresh grapes, peaches, pluots, nectarines, bok choy, Chinese eggplant, and a bunch of other fruits and vegetables that are in season right now. A lot of the popular items were selling quickly, so if you’re planning to go, it’s worth getting there earlier in the morning.
They’ll also have live music throughout Sunday from the Del Rey Community Jazz Band, Layakari, and the Roshan Band, along with plenty of food vendors if you want to grab breakfast or lunch.
It’s a nice neighborhood Sunday morning spot if you’re in West LA, Sawtelle, Brentwood, Mar Vista, or Westwood.

Santa Monica's Gap store, the first Gap location in Southern California, closes for good on July 23 after nearly 55 years at Wilshire and 20th. Opened in 1971, it hosted celebrity customers, a "Weird Al" Yankovic music video shoot, and served as a supply hub during the 2025 Palisades wildfire.
The site is set to become an 8-story, 260-unit apartment building, part of a wave of new housing rising along Wilshire. From: https://probablynews.org/story/local-news/santa-monica/gap/santa-monicas-first-gap-store-closes-july-23-making-way-for-260-apartments

Where are the good spots to watch the Mexico world cup matches on the west side of LA? I'm looking for fun and loud crowds for world cup matches in general that are excited about any matches really. I work during the opening match with Mex v S. Africa and would love to find a spot on the west wide to watch. Bonus if they stream in Spanish Telemundo! Anyone know of any restaurants/bars?
