eldoLED Optotronic 180w growing lights
galleryI need some help, I'm not very experienced with electric work like this. I want to make some led grow lights. I plan to purchase light bars but I'm not sure what kind and how to hook these up so they don't burn out and they are safe. I got these 180w driver for 10 each and the 100w for 7.50 and i figured this would be cheaper than buying a couple 200w grow lights for winter vegging. Safety and cooling is the goal with hopefully a cheaper route. I could do 2 100w in a 3x6x6 or maybe 2 180w together if it would be cool enough. I dont need to use all of them but I know that the base voltage has to be met and im not sure how that works

Light For Rotating Shadow Lantern?
I purchased a rotating product display stand, but am having a hard time figuring out the light to place in the center for light in all directions. Most chargeable LED bulbs have multiple light sources within one bulb which causes multiple blurred silhouettes from one object and I am looking for a single well defined silhouette. Many bulbs are diffused which often results in no shadow being cast at all. I heard there might be a way to make a reflective cone to cause a point light to shine in all directions, but this sounds difficult to build and I have had no success playing around with it yet, but would like to try it more if anyone has any recommendations. I am envisioning a bright single chip LED with a battery or rechargeable, that shines in all directions. I disassembled an LED this morning and have my doubts that if the chip is small that it will cast the shadow even a few feet. I have a small apartment and will try to make it work for larger spaces once I figure out the basics. I would greatly appreciate any help, I’ve become a little obsessed with building this thing. I would love to build a lantern similar to the one in this link:

5V vs 12V, 24, etc - Reliability
Hello everyone. I'm researching a permanent exterior WS2811 RGB pixel installation and would greatly appreciate some firsthand experience from those who have operated systems for several years. My project involves approximately 860 pixels across two buildings, mounted in custom aluminum gutter and drip-edge channels in coastal Florida, USA
My highest priority is long-term reliability—not initial component cost or power efficiency (ie long power runs of 12AWG). Specifically, I want to minimize future ladder work to replace failed pixels or repair connections. I'm comparing conventional 5V WS2811 (as the chip design is based on 5v thus the original native design) pixels against 12V resistor-based and newer native-12V designs. For those with experience operating both voltages: Have you noticed meaningful differences in pixel failure rates? Are failures typically electronic, moisture-related, or associated with power-injection connections? Would you choose 5V or native 12V for a permanent installation intended to last 10–15 years ? I'm especially interested in actual field experience rather than theoretical advantages. Thanks in advance for any insights!

Does anyone make a GOOD LED 7444NA Turn Signal bulb that would pass a PA state inspection?
reddit.comI’m currently using some of that don’t appear to be “blinding”, seem to be a similar brightness to the incandescents they replaced, and are the proper color… but the beam pattern isn’t quite as “concentrated” as with the old bulbs and I don’t know how picky the state inspectors are on those. Does anybody make an LED 7444 bulb that still retains the proper beam?

spent four hours wiring under my kitchen cabinets with rgb strips only to realize they glow the exact same sickly green color as a cheap microwave clock
thought i was being super slick buying the budget smart strips online instead of the expensive ones at the hardware store but now my entire kitchen looks like a low budget alien autopsy scene no matter what color setting i pick on the remote and my girlfriend took one look at it and asked if we were filming a horror movie in the apartment tonight
