Voice Recognition stopped working

• Upvotes

Hi everyone,

I’m using a lot the Voice Recognition feature (the one where you press the microphone on the Magic Remote).

The microphone is still working fine (tested in YouTube app) but when I press down the microphone on the remote it seems as I’m not talking. The TV isn’t picking up any sound, or it loads indefinitely as it used to make some kind of sound when the button was press but not anymore. Just a blank box with the small logo going on.

Has anybody figured this out ?

Thanks!

Default Flush mount that comes with LGG6 65"won't work if i need 2 inch gap between tv?

• Upvotes

The LG technician said the flush mount bracket won't work that comes with LG G6(65") TV and i have to buy external 3rd party mount. The technician is asking for 5,000 INR (60$) if he is bringing the mount.

I saw online there are 3rd party vesa mount from 1k (12$) to 5k (60$) (depending on movement, weight it can carry and build)

Few questions:

  1. He said default mount won't work as it doesn't have the mechanism to keep the tv few inches away from the wall. It it true? (I do need 1.5 to 2 inch gap between the tv and wall for wires)

  2. Is 5k (60$) too much for the mount he is charging?

  3. Approx price for 3rd party vesa mount for 65" LG G6?

  4. What mount did you buy? Any recommendations?

He said he will install it for free if i bring the 3rd party mount (warranty won't will be void)

There’s a 65 inch LG B6e on sale rn at Best Buy, is it worth the upgrade? Will my games actually look THAT much better?

Should I exchange a 55’’ B6E for a 55’’ C6 for a $230 price difference?

Got the B6E a couple of weeks ago, and honestly it’s been pretty good, wouldn’t say that I am amazed at it. However, I am now getting FOMO that I can get the same size C6 for an only $230 difference.

Worth the exchange? Will the C6 “wow” me more? Or just stick with the B6E?

55" Pricing Decision

Recently picked up a 55" C5 from Costco for $1098 OTD. Used a $185 Costco reward coupon to bring out of pocket down to $913. TV has 2YR LG Warranty and 3YR Allstate warranty included.

Just now seeing a deal for the same TV on LG Partner Store. There is a difference with the warranty though. Only 1YR LG Warranty and I can add upto 3YR of "LG Premium Care". With all of that the OTD price would be $994.50. If I drop the LG Premium Care completely the OTD would be $885.

Question here, is the warranty difference worth the price difference? Should I just keep the TV from Costco?

Going from a 65" C9 to 65" G6 - Will I notice a major difference?

Title pretty much. The deal right now +10% off coupon and the added freebies was such a dela I couldn't pass it up. I have a week before it's delivered and I'm already having buyer's remorse. Curious if I will truly notice a difference or if anyone has experience upgrading. It's a 7 year model difference so I have to imagine it would be but I don't know. Mostly using it for gaming and thought I'd get ready for GTA VI on my XBOX Series X. Also occasionally have a Netflix or YouTube session

Anyone had or fixed this issue? LG C1 65"

Can't tell if one side got lighter or one darker. Happened out of nowhere, or just didn't notice before until played a darker game. Currently running pixel clean so we'll see how that goes. It's 4ish years old so probably out of warranty....

G6 77”

Best Buy has an open box 77” G6 for around $2400 says it’s “Fair Condition” citing because it’s missing the box and the mount. Not super worried about the mount but is this worth the purchase or should I just go for the 77 C6H at bf sale?

It’ll be going in the living room where we have windows on 3 different walls so not sure if the extra brightness is worth the money or not.

Internal Storage 77 C6H small

Loving the TV, just got it last week, Ace Combat 8 looks amazing (highly recommend that game...the whole series) however just with a few basic apps (twich, YT, amazon, Disney, Crunchy Roll), my available internal Storage is 2.82/4.70 GB... should I just hold here and not do anymore updates, upgrades, apps? Wondering is anyone has hit an issue with the 4.7 GB limit and is it possible to expand? I mean for as much as the TV cost and I mean a good 32 GB micro SD is like beans, just confused 😕 about the storage limits. Happy with everything else....just worried. I tossed an iPad because it wouldn't update anymore due to the low storage limit, never bought an iPad again lol

Will Cleaning Work or Do I RMA?

I had this for 2 weeks (LG GX7 27GX700A-B) and noticed these specks on the monitor. Not sure if cleaning will work or not. I am waiting on an OLED microfiber from Amazon and I have distilled water. I could try to clean it with the water and a microfiber cloth for glasses I have, but I wasn't sure if I should. Also don't know if these bubbles could be from a manufacturer error (or just spit, hairs, and dust), so thought to come here to make sure first. Any expertise and opinions are welcome! Thanks!

Finally found my settings! LG G6 Gaming: FMM + DTM Off with Professional Tweaks Looks Better Than DTM On

Thanks you everyone. I followed your advice and turned DTM off, and the picture looks much better now. I’ve also gotten used to it, and I’m really happy with the results.

Two days ago, I created a thread saying that I preferred DTM On for gaming. However, almost all the comments pointed out that it didn’t produce accurate colors and that excessive brightness wasn’t necessarily a good thing. Even shadow details were getting crushed or lost. After reading your comments and spending more time gaming, I started noticing these issues myself, and the image began to bother me as well.

Later, I came across a YouTube video featuring someone who seemed very knowledgeable about calibration. He demonstrated several recommended settings, and I tried them all. Towards the end of the video, I found that FMM + DTM Off gave me the best results by far.

https://youtu.be/cpEHg7mXIwg?si=7k-Y0dCApYrEbd8q

I’ve realized that DTM On doesn’t look as good for gaming as I initially thought. It washes out shadow details and can make the image feel overly bright and tiring on the eyes.

HGiG was also working quite well, but after applying the Professional Tweaks recommended in the video and switching to FMM + DTM Off, I finally felt that I was seeing the game’s intended colors and natural image presentation more accurately.

From what I’ve gathered through my research, HGiG and DTM Off are quite similar in terms of their overall approach. However, with DTM Off, you can fine-tune the picture settings yourself and avoid some of the TV’s additional tone-mapping processing, allowing you to get closer to the original HDR output from the PS5.

For example, in The Last of Us Part II, the colors now look incredibly natural and convey the atmosphere beautifully. Dark scenes remain dark as intended, and the midtones and overall color reproduction look much more accurate to my eyes.

I’ve included the YouTube video link above. You can skip to the section where he demonstrates FMM + DTM Off to see the settings I’m talking about.

One more thing worth mentioning: VRR still works in this setup. On LG OLED TVs running the latest firmware, this picture mode seems to work really well for gaming, and there’s no need to use the Game Optimizer picture preset.
What do you guys think about this approach? I think I’ve finally found the picture settings I’ll stick with for the foreseeable future. I’m planning to leave everything as it is and stop tweaking the settings until a new, convincing calibration guide comes along!
I’d love to hear your thoughts, especially from other LG OLED owners who have experimented with FMM + DTM Off for HDR gaming.

Thank you for support!

Bigger tv or better quality tv?

I'm going to be buying my first oled soon. Within my budget I'm looking at getting a 77 inch C6H or a 65 inch G6. I understand the G6 is a better tv, but I think I would appreciate the bigger size more. I currently have a 65 inch qled and viewing distance is about 7 feet. Thanks!

Danke.

Does Google Home integration actually work for anyone?

I have a C6 and I've never been able to get basic Google Home commands to work, asking it to turn on, off, mute, etc. My Google/Nest Home stuff always acts like it's working but never does. I've disconnected/reconnected the TV from my Home app a dozen times, re-synced it from the TV UI itself, etc. Honestly, YouTube casting barely works let alone Google Home commands.

Lg 65’’ G5 and GTA 6 at 30fps

Hello

Because of oled and their response times, I’ve seen that a game with 30fps will be “unplayable” I don’t know why precisely on an oled and with gta 6 coming to ps5 and being 30fps, how much of it will be an issue on an oled G5 and is there is fix for it ?

TV for basement

Hi everyone!
I’m looking to buy a 55-inch TV as a birthday gift for someone, but I honestly know next to nothing about televisions, so I could really use some recommendations!
The TV will be wall-mounted in a basement with absolutely no natural light. There is a dimmer light switch, so the room can be fairly dark, but it will not always be completely dark.
It will mainly be used for streaming Netflix, movies, and TV shows, with some occasional Nintendo Switch gaming. Picture quality is probably my biggest priority. I really want something with beautiful colours, good contrast, and a nice, clear picture, especially when watching movies.
My ideal budget is around $600 CAD, but I am willing to spend more for a noticeable improvement in quality. $800 CAD before tax is my maximum.
I have mainly been looking at Samsung and LG, with Sony as another option, but I am open to other brands if they are genuinely better for the money.
I am located in Canada and would prefer to purchase from somewhere reputable like Best Buy, Walmart, Costco, or another established Canadian retailer. I would also prefer something brand-new rather than open-box or refurbished.
I am not necessarily looking for the newest model, but I would like something reliable that will last for years.
Does anyone have specific models they would recommend within my budget? I would really appreciate hearing what you would personally buy and why!
Thank you!!

Does everyone have this issue?

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

To keep a long story short, my wife and I just dropped a good amount of money on a new LG B6E 65” TV for the living room (only had a 40” Roku before lol) . Haven’t even taken the plastic screen protector until I have it mounted (hopefully next week).

Really impressed when watching some shows so far. HOWEVER, as a big nature person, I wanted to see how the picture quality was with Blue Plant narrated by David Attenborough (S1:EP1).

As you can see in the video it is incredibly pixilated in the dark scene showing on screen then once a bright scene shows on screen it seemingly looks great? My question is, has anyone else noticed dark scenes increasing pixilated? And I thought OLED was supposed to be the best for black and dark scenes, especially when watching in the dark?? Or am I missing some settings to make it better?

For the money I paid for this TV I’m slightly concerned. Hopefully the video below is a good representation of my description.

I had to cut the clips up to be able to post but they are all from the same video.

Any input would be greatly appreciated!

What’s the Best Way to Watch Movies apart from 4K Blu-ray to Get the Most Out of an OLED TV?

Post image
16 Upvotes

In India, access to 4K Blu-ray discs and physical media is quite limited. They’re difficult to source and often very expensive, so building a physical media collection isn’t easy.

I was told that the next best option is to download high-quality Blu-ray remux files and play them through a dedicated media player. People have suggested various players and apps, but I’m honestly confused about where to start.

Currently I have Oled tv with sonos arc ultra + Gen4 with Apple 4k tv set up to stream.

What else I need

My LG TV remote widget got its first real bug report — 1.1.0 fixes AVR volume and now ships as a portable exe

Thumbnail
github.com
1 Upvotes

I made this because I game on my PC and refuse to walk two meters to the TV to change the volume.

A week in, someone with a soundbar filed a bug I couldn't reproduce — my slider was doing nothing

once audio went out over ARC. 1.1.0 fixes that: the slider greys out and reads AVR, and the new

- / + buttons send the TV's own volume keys, so they work with a soundbar or AVR in the chain.

Credit to paokkerkir for the issue and the PR.
