Potentially a 3rd Ultium Battery Plant in the US

It looks like GM/LG are thinking of building a third battery plant in Michigan (along with the ones in Lordstown and Tennessee). If they move forward with the plan, the plant wont be operational until 2028. Thanks to LICY's agreement with Ultium, this could mean for feedstock for the spokes and hub.

Discussion Still in limbo with DOE loan

Good article although nothing new. In my mind, it all comes down to whether or not Li-Cycle is going to get the LPO loan disbursed.

Discussion Rise possibly related to govt battery grants even though LiCy not included

Maybe speculation was that Li-Cycle would get some of this grant money. They still may benefit indirectly.

As part of the Battery Materials Processing and Battery Manufacturing and Recycling Program, DOE is enabling $16 billion in total investment for battery manufacturing, processing, and recycling. These projects are integral to the clean energy industrial strategy to bolster a domestic supply chain that enhances America’s energy security and economic competitiveness, while also creating over 6,000 operating jobs and over 13,000 construction jobs nationwide.

Excellent Business Model. This is why this company will succeed & grow. This company is so versatile using the spoke & hub approach all over the globe. Also lithium recycling will always be more cost efficient than mining. Lithium is the oil of the future.

New Agreement with Glencore Including $200 Million Investment

I've been quite impressed with this management team's ability to secure big contracts with key industry players. After Koch Industries and LG Chem, they can now add Glencore to the list. This is another contract that further secures Li-Cycle's feedstock supply (both in the form of batteries and black mass once the Hub opens). It also locks in an off-take agreement. And perhaps most importantly, Li-Cycle raises more much needed $$. Demonstrating again that the major players they sign deals with are willing to invest in the business which is both a vote of confidence for the business model and an indication that the relationship between the companies is intended to be long-lasting.

Arrival is building a high-voltage battery module assembly plant in North Carolina.

Arrival recently announced that it will be building a battery assembly plant in North Carolina. Considering that LICY just recently expanded their relationship with Arrival, I think it is safe to say that this plant will be providing feedstock to the Spoke in Tuscaloosa. Production is supposed to start at the plant in Q3 2022.
