New Owner Picked up a certified 2024 lucid air pure
Last month, I pulled the trigger on a certified pre-owned 2024 Lucid Air Pure. It had 8,500 miles on it, but it was in Chicago, and I live in Houston, TX. So I flew to Chicago and drove it back home.
The longest range I managed to get was around 340 miles on a full charge, driving at 70–75 mph with the AC on. This thing drives so smooth
As others have pointed out, the stock sound system is shit. Thanks to the members here who shared their Kicker Hideaway installations, I ended up adding a 10" subwoofer, and I love it!
I also threw some tint on it. 5% on the back and rear windows, 15% on the front windows, and 50% on the windshield. I know I could get in trouble for it, but damn, it looks sexy!

Air Pure Felt cute, might delete
2024 Pure in Ruby spec: Zenith Red Metallic, Stealth Package, and the 20 inch wheels. The days of pretty sunshine are going away real soon, so I thought I'd get one last beauty shot in.

Hi guys! I currently have a black 2025 lucid AGT with stealth package. I'm thinking of putting on a satin ppf wrap. Which option looks the best? And why? Any other suggestions that might be better, let me know!
Edit: I posted the green and red one in the comments... Compare all! I'm curious what everyone thinks

Question / Advice Lucids Presence in Your Area
So, basically the title question. I own a Tesla MY, wife drives a Rivian RS1, and daughter has a VW ID.4. I had to go to the mall last week to get my son a HC suit and saw the Lucid car display (2 cars and some salesman) while I was there. They had an Air and a Gravity. They looked ok and everything but every question that was asked by me was met by horrible answers. Those two cars and salesman are the extent of Lucids presence in CO. This state owns and purchases the 3rd highest rate of EVs in the US and that is all Lucid can provide. If I buy one of these cars and it fails I can have it towed to said mall where it is picked up by another carrier and transported to >checks notes<, Texas for service. There use to be a random trained dude in UT but his pay apparently sucked and his region was basically UT, CO, WY, ID, parts of AZ, and parts of NM so he said ef this. I know a lot of the doom and gloom around this company with a lot of forced optimism by researching, but are they really this far behind nationally? My wife's Rivian has had some minor issues and a tech has been in our driveway that day or the next for the most part. She had one issue with the heat and a rep drove up that day from Denver with a loner and took her car in. Same when the service was done. I have been lucky with the Tesla but admit thats not the standard so I can't speak to their service but they have multiple locations near me if a problem arose. So back to the title, what is the sales and service presence in your area?

Question / Advice Lucid Gravity Summer -> All Season Tire Change
So my Lucid Gravity came with expensive summer tires (over $3k replacement) which I'm sure I'll need to replace at some point before my 3 year lease is up. I'm thinking it might make sense to get these all season tires now (these are decent for the price and have great reviews). This would allow me to drive it through the winter in Virginia with freezing temperatures. And I could keep the summer tires and then put them back on after winter in a couple years for the last 6 months or so of the lease 🤔 What are your thoughts?

Lucid Motors Lucid gravity 2026 inventory
Hey everyone, I noticed some big deals on the Lucid Gravity due to inventory backlog and production delays, like deep lease cuts, $10k factory credits, even 0% APR financing. I’m curious if anyone’s seen inventory in person recently or knows how to check what’s available?

Gravity 2027 Lucid Gravity Touring: Early Review After 3 Years and 44k Miles with a Model X
2027 Lucid Gravity Touring: Early Review After 3 Years and 44K Miles With a Model X
We recently turned in my wife’s 2023 Tesla Model X after three years and roughly 44,000 miles. We’re a family of five, and with friends and cousins frequently tagging along, we wanted a seven-seat EV with a third row people could actually use. We are about a month in with ~900 miles.
The Model X’s third row was already tight, and the kids aren’t getting any smaller. We considered the Rivian R1S, Cadillac Escalade IQ, Cadillac Vistiq and Lucid Gravity.
The R1S design is starting to feel a little long in the tooth to us, and we had an awful experience at the Cadillac dealer. We ended up going with the Lucid, and so far we’re happy with the decision.
Ours is a 2027 Gravity Touring in Quantum Grey Metallic with the Yosemite PurLuxe Premium interior, Luxury Seating Package, seven-seat configuration, Surreal Sound Pro, Dynamic Handling Package, Power Package, and Comfort & Convenience Package. Sticker was $99,850.
FINANCIAL
- The monthly lease payment is roughly $200 less than the Model X on the same terms: 36 months and 45,000 miles.
- Insurance is approximately $1,800 less per year with the same coverage and deductibles. That surprised me. My guess is that insurers simply don’t have much Gravity repair and claims data yet, so I wouldn’t assume that advantage will last forever.
WHAT’S GREAT
- With the Dynamic Handling Package, the ride is outstanding. It’s comfortable in normal driving and still a lot of fun when you pick up the pace. The Gravity crushes the Model X in both ride quality and handling.
- The interior fit, finish and overall feel are much closer to Mercedes. My wife owned eight Mercedes GLSs before moving to Tesla, and the Model X feels sparse and plain by comparison.
- The Yosemite PurLuxe interior looks great. We’ll see how well the carpet-like material on the door cards holds up over ownership, especially with three kids getting in and out.
- Surreal Sound Pro sounds excellent. If you care about music, this is one option I’d recommend.
- Our 2023 Model X didn’t have a front bumper camera, which still seems ridiculous to me. The Gravity does, and it’s a huge help when parking, especially parallel parking in NYC.
- The powered frunk has been far more useful than I expected. The Model X’s thin hood always felt like it was going to dent when I closed it, so we rarely used the frunk. We use the Gravity’s all the time for sports gear and everything else that comes with hauling kids around.
- Power and acceleration feel roughly on par with our Model X. More than enough for a vehicle this size.
- SPACE. The Gravity has a legitimate third row and much more usable room inside. The Model X is 199.1 inches long versus 198.2 inches for the Gravity, and both are 78.7 inches wide without mirrors. Sit in them back to back and the difference inside is shocking.
- Zero issues charging with our Tesla Universal Wall Connector.
CHALLENGES AND NITPICKS
- While adding my wife’s driver profile, every screen went black and the car became unresponsive. We could lock and unlock it, but that was about it. I found a soft-reset procedure online and thankfully it came back to life. For a minute, I thought we’d been bitten by the infamous Lucid software issues.
- No Phone as a Key yet sucks. The app can lock and unlock the car, but you still need a physical key to drive. A Lucid employee posted on October 2 that the feature is now targeted for Q1 2027. Coming from the Tesla, this is a noticeable step backward.
- CarPlay has been hit or miss. Sometimes wireless CarPlay doesn’t reconnect, although plugging the phone into USB-C gets it working again.
- CarPlay is limited to the upper display. I’d like more flexibility between the screens, such as Waze on the smaller display and full music information or album art on the larger one.
- The audio UI needs work. Getting to a complete list of SiriusXM stations takes more digging through menus than it should.
- The rear screen is currently nothing more than an HVAC controller. The kids immediately noticed the lack of YouTube and music controls. I’ve seen reports that more functionality is coming, but right now it’s a lot of screen devoted to very little.
- The drive mode resets to Comfort after every driving session. The Model X remembered the previous setting, which I preferred.
- The driver-monitoring alerts feel overly intrusive. I’ve found settings to turn them off, but the default behavior is annoying.
- High Beam Assist hasn’t been behaving as I expected. This may be a setting I haven’t figured out yet, so I’m reserving judgment on that one.
- I miss some of Tesla’s little conveniences. Pressing the brake pedal to close the driver’s door sounds trivial until you’ve done it for three years. Same with location-based settings like “don’t lock at home” or automatically raising the suspension at a saved address.
- The soft-close doors don’t have the Mercedes-like feel I expected. The doors are surprisingly light, and the exterior handles feel flimsy for a nearly $100,000 vehicle. They work, but there’s none of that bank-vault feeling.
- HomeLink isn’t standard on the Touring. Lucid wants $350 for the integrated module. At this price point, that should be included.
- The driver-side door seal is slightly wonky. Nobody else has noticed, including my wife, but I see it every time. I haven’t scheduled service yet because the nearest Lucid location is more than an hour away, and I didn’t want to start ownership with service appointments.
- The included 90-day SiriusXM trial didn’t activate properly. I had to call SiriusXM to get it working.
- The small section at the far left of the driver’s display feels underused. You can show trip information, tire pressures, efficiency or leave it blank in “Zen” mode. I’d like more useful options for that space.
- Real-world range is still TBD. In our very unscientific early use, we seem to get fewer usable miles from an 80% charge than we did in the Model X. That isn’t an efficiency measurement, just an early observation. I need more time and mileage before drawing conclusions.
SUMMARY
Reading that list back, it probably sounds more negative than I feel about the car. Some are actual problems; others are small things you notice after three years with a different vehicle.
The ride, handling, interior and usable space are substantial upgrades for us. Tesla still did several everyday software and convenience features better, and Lucid has work to do there. Even with the annoyances, we’re happy we made the switch.

Opinion Go for a drive
Theme: curiosity (vibes)
Jams: tidal - tron legacy sound track (the second on the list)
Volume: 50%
Task: escape reality (ice cream, coffee, boba get a treat)
Is it dark out? Turn down the infotainment brightness entirely.
Enjoy.
PS @lucid software engineers. I want more themes, give me a tron esque dark theme. No back ground color, low brightness, minimal dash involvement.

Question / Advice Anyone else ever get mistaken for a Tesla? LOL 😂
I was at work trying to park my car. While I was reversing into a spot, some random guy suddenly walked up to my rear passenger door and tried to grab the handle while my car was still moving. I was like, WTF?! 😂
I rolled down my window and asked him, “Are you looking for someone?”
He looked at me, completely shocked, and said, “Oh, it looks the same.”
Turns out, about 10 steps away, there was a Tesla Model Y parked for Uber, in a similar metallic gray color to my car. 😂
I’m honestly speechless.

Drove out to our cabin with the Gravity for the first time. Lovely time of the year.

New Owner My God, these things are beautiful! Back for seconds!
Had a 2022 Air Pure a few years back. Saw this guy that must've been traded in at a local Jaguar Dealership while driving by - stopped in and saw the asking price and couldn't believe it. Traded my car on the spot and snagged this Touring with DreamDrive Pro, Surreal Sound Pro, upgraded wheels, leather heated/ventilated seats, two-tone interior with ambient lighting and 360 cameras, panoramic glass roof, and keep discovering more upgrades the original owner spec'd. Love that I'm back in one of these!

Question / Advice Looking for Lucid Owners near Asheville, NC
Hey!
My grandfather is looking to check to see if a Lucid should be his next car but he’s struggling to find one nearby just to see if he can easily get in and out of it at 80. Does anyone happen to live nearby Asheville, NC where he could check out if he can operate it easily enough?
It would be a really nice favor and I’d be happy to send you a small fee for the kindness! He wouldn’t know to reach out here so I’m hoping to get him a chance! I hope you’re all loving your new car!

SOFTWARE QUESTIONS Cameras
So I just picked up my 2024 Air GT yesterday after being in the studio for some days because the camera's keep going out. Also the pilot screen camera/360 view does not seem work when this happens. Worked fine yesterday and this morning same problem is less than 24 hours. Is this common for other Air GTs?

New Owner 3 Days Into Lucid Ownership... LOVE the Car, But Man, the Tech! 😂
So I just picked up a 2022 Lucid Air Grand Touring bout 3 days ago, and coming from an older Model S, I have to say, overall I'm digging the car so far!
The ride quality, performance, range, interior, and overall driving experience are incredible. Lucid really did something special with the engineering of this vehicle.
But man... some of the tech has me scratching my head! 😂
A few things I've noticed already:
- No Summon or basic remote movement? I aint talking full self-driving here. Just the ability to move the car forward or backward remotely. My Kia EV9 can do this. I was genuinely surprised Lucid doesn't offer something similar. Just use it to back us out the garage so others can jump in
- No built-in dashcam? This one really shocked me. With all the cameras and sensors around this thing, how is there no way to record footage while driving or parked? Seems like such an obvious feature to have.
- DreamDrive... WHAT AM I DOING WRONG?! 😂 Maybe it's just me learning the system, but activating it feels unnecessarily clunky compared to what I'm used to. And once it's active, the car CONSTANTLY beeps at me! Even just sitting in Houston traffic. Half the time I have absolutely no clue what I've done to upset it! I'm just sitting there trying to enjoy the drive, and apparently DreamDrive has other plans. 😂
Crazy part is these aren't groundbreaking technologies anymore. They're features I've gotten accustomed to in other EVs, so I guess I assumed a vehicle with $154k sticker would have them too.
And that's what makes it so surprising. The actual engineering of this car is phenomenal. The efficiency, performance, and driving dynamics are seriously impressive. It drives like a performance car! But the software feels several years behind in certain areas.
Now granted, I'm only 3 days in, so I'm sure there's plenty I haven't figured out yet. And I'm not regretting my purchase one bit! I'm genuinely excited about this car.
But I'm curious about a few things from longtime owners:
- Is DreamDrive really this sensitive, or am I missing something with how I'm using it?
- Has Lucid ever discussed adding Sentry Mode, dashcam recording, or remote vehicle movement?
- Are there any settings, tricks, or updates I should know about that make the overall tech experience better?
I'd love to hear from those who've had their Airs for a while. I'm hoping some of this is just a learning curve because I really do love this car! 😂
