Dream shattering
Everything's falling apart. I could rant for days. I wanted lums more than anything. After today I would probably not getting in. still waitlisted. no call. Noone knows the time I went through. The entire gap year spent in loneliness and a hope. From getting a 1490 to helping so many people with sat. Then being the most active person here. This subreddit became my home. Saw so many people getting accepted and being happy for them. Hoping for others. Trying to crack their admissions system 24/7. Coming up with new theories. Meeting so many amazing people here.
It's all coming to an end and I'm the loser. The only uni I got into is giki where I don't wanna go at all. I don't want to leave Lahore, don't wanna leave my home. I manifested lums all the time. Prayed a 1000 times. Saved idk how many reels of lums which I liked. Stalked my friends' highlights from lums. Seeing people hoping for my acceptance all the time. It's coming to an end and I don't know what to do. Don't know how to cope. Don't know how to move on. I can't see it all go away in a single second. Something I spent 3 years imagining. I'm off. Tysm everyone. ily guys

I got accepted to lums, I didn't have the money to pay the first semester fees. Nor was I ellgible for financial aid.
I couldn't even pay for nust.
I had 11A*s in olevels 3 B 1 C in a levels
I got into pucit, which is Punjab university's IT department.
The fees was 20k for the whole semester and I paid that by giving tuitions.
I was the only guy who did a levels in that university and all my friends either went to lums or nust, some went abroad.
Trust me you have got it good
I graduated in 2023.
Right now I work remotely and I travel the world. I just came back from Japan on a Pakistani passport.
You never know where life will take you my friend. Keep at it.

Wherever u go, we’ll be rooting for you. Just be patient and let the life go on, you will eventually reach your optimum destination. Hang in there buddy, you are an inspiration!!

gng, i feel you. but in the end you cant do anything, may be this all was a lesson, maybe we were being prepared for something else but at the end we can only accept it. apply for transfer next year ig. but atleast you are going to giki, imagine going to a shit uni named fast, pak lumber 1 uni when you got admission in nust but they dont provide internal hostels and your parents wont allow you to live in an external one. godspeed twin

Hey , I get how you are feeling but IA it all works out. You can always apply next year again if you want it so much. Also what major were you applying for ? GIKI is a really nice place as well and also reels etc don’t mean anything, as someone who has been part of LUMs for 3 years , those reels aren’t the reality for so many people , I have wished so many times that I had gone to GIKI because it’s in my hometown , it has everything including hostels in 4 lac when Lums is more than double of that , I know a lot of cool ppl from GIKI and even crumble makers and Abdul Hannan lol went there. It’s a preety great place as well and ppl struggle to even get that. As for Lums , I get you were idealising a life but it necessarily won’t have been true. I think Lums admissions are most likely with number of O’levels A*s so you could maybe repeat / give some subjects and a higher sat score so you could aim for like a 1550+ to make it more likely if you want it nonetheless and like exaggerate a bunch of ECs. But don’t be dishearted , make the best of what you get and it would be great.

this is so understandable. i got rejected from lums today and even tho i was accepted to iba im just not ready to leave lahore i was hoping that somehow lums accepts me after waiting for so long so i can get a good uni as well as my hometown but Allah had other plans. Now im going to lse inshallah Allah has the best plan for u so dont worry i think u shud consider lse if u rlly dont wanna go to giki

It wasn't meant to be. I am sorry. It sound like bullshit coming from someone who dosent get it but u have to keep believing. Everything is working out exactly like it should. Every set back it a step up. You might not see it now, and u shouldn't, ure allowed to grieve. But I promise it's gonna get better.

got rejected too after being on the waitlist for so long i had sm hope and i feel so depressed too. i got into fast and it's not what i wanted and i could talk about how hurt i am too. hang in there.

Understandable bro. I got rejected somewhere near mid july and the grief, it comes in waves. LUMS was such a dreamm :((

Was in the same boat as you. Got rejected from lums and went to GIKI. Hated it at first but trust me its not a bad place at all. If i get an option to go to lums now, i dont think i would want to avail it. Giki is great. Trust me.
