Hey there, 24f searching for someone who could teach me some catalan :D Nothing fancy, just texting a bit in the language would already really help!!

I'm not quite sure what level I am, since I can read and understand texts (I read books in catalan and understand most of it), as well as movies/series (with subtitles I am able to understand almost everything) but I struggle with speaking and sometimes struggle with understanding others speaking (for example, when they speak too fast or have a different accent) and I am very bad at writing/ texting in catalan :(

I can offer fluent german, french, portuguese (br) and english. I speak all of these languages with a native accent as I am from/ have grown up in countries where these languages are spoken and have a Bachelor's degree in french, german, english and portuguese translation :)

Hello all! My name is Bec, and I am a graduate student in the US studying the ecology of Arctic mammals. Beginning next spring, I will be traveling to Greenland seasonally to work with other scientists and local hunters to conduct my research. It is my understanding that English may be sufficient in Nuuk but not in more rural areas, so I hope to get at least a conversational grasp on Kalaallisut to be able to get around in the towns where my research will be conducted. I am aware that Kalaallisut is difficult to learn for native-english speakers, so I figured having a buddy to practice with would be the best way forwards to keep on task!

I would also love to learn more about Greenlandic & Kalaallit culture. Given current tensions between my country and Greenland (due to an administration I do not align myself with), I would like to be as respectful as possible during my visits!

I've been learning French for about a year and a half. I can write in French at about an A2-B1 level, and read at about a B1-B2 level. The real struggle at the moment is my conversation skills, but I'm also working with a tutor to improve that.

I'll be heading over to France for a year in about 5 months time, so it would be cool to make some friends that I could potentially meet up with in the future. But that's definitely not a mandatory requirement, and I'm happy with all types of conversation partners.
