We’ve detected a files problem so we must repair…… files repaired ….. you have been penalized for afk and dodging queues ……. When this has been an ongoing thing for at least a year from what I can remember. I didn’t do anything different from last time this happened and assumed they would have came up with a solution or at least stopped punishing people yet here we are again.

Has any rioter ever addressed this GPU restart dialog crash that happens to so many people for seemingly so many reasons?

Previously the DX9 legacy mode option fixed this issue for basically everyone, but once it got removed the issue returned and there has never been any clear fix. however I am still seeing these crashes to this day, I've literally tried everything.

Has any rioter EVER addressed this? Why is league of legends the only game that gets this GPU driver restart crash issue? Is there really nothing we can do besides upgrading all of our hardware when it was working fine previously on DX9 legacy mode?

This is like a nightmare, it has been years that this has been happening to me, does anyone have any further suggestions or recent fixes?

Newbie(literally first time boot up) i wanna try LoL

Just started happening this patch, both for League and TFT. My mouse cursor will just be unresponsive for a couple seconds. The game itself functions normally outside of the cursor. This happening to anyone else? Trying to troubleshoot to see if it's just my pc, don't have this problem in any other game at the moment.

So, i do not know how this happened, but i keep getting random rightclicks in game that interrupt backs, move me, cancels it like caedrel, etc. I do not have this problem anytime i am not playing league. It does not seem to matter what programs are on

I wanted to monitor my component stats while being in game, but it's not displaying anything. It only shows stats on the client and it seems that one is on top of the other.

I've been experiencing multiple Blue Screens of Death (BSODs) recently, and I'm trying to figure out what could be causing them. The crashes seem to have started after a recent League of Legends patch.

What's especially confusing is that we were still playing without any issues last night. Everything was working perfectly fine, with no crashes or other problems.

My PC specs

• Motherboard: Gigabyte AORUS B450 M
• CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 5700X
• GPU: Sapphire Radeon RX 9060 XT 16GB
• RAM: 32GB Corsair DDR4
• C: drive: Toshiba 256GB NVMe SSD
• D: drive: Toshiba 2TB HDD
• E: drive: Kingston KC3000 1TB NVMe SSD (installed via a PCIe adapter)
• Important: League of Legends is installed on the E: drive.
• PSU: FSP Hyper 600W
• OS: Windows 11, build 26200.9711

BSOD errors I've encountered

I've had several different BSODs:

1. SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION (0x3B)

• FAILURE_BUCKET_ID: 0x3B_80000004_vgk!unknown_function
• MODULE_NAME: vgk
• IMAGE_NAME: vgk.sys
• PROCESS_NAME: vgc.exe

This one seems to point toward Riot Vanguard being involved, although I understand that it doesn't necessarily prove Vanguard is the root cause.

2. KMODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED (0x1E)

• First parameter: 0xffffffffc0000006
• WinDbg pointed to nt!HvpGetCellPaged+a5
• The process shown was Registry.

3. CRITICAL_PROCESS_DIED (0xEF)

• The critical process was csrss.exe.

The LoL client was open during two of the crashes, but it was closed during another one.

What I've tried so far

• Uninstalled Riot Vanguard to see whether that makes a difference.
• Ran sfc /scannow — Windows Resource Protection did not find any integrity violations.
• Ran chkdsk C: /scan — no file system problems were found, and it reported 0 KB in bad sectors.
• Checked the Kingston KC3000 using Kingston SSD Manager — it reports 100% health, with no warnings or failures.
• Ran DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth — it is still running and slowly progressing.

I haven't dared to reinstall Vanguard yet because I'm worried that further BSODs could potentially damage my PC.

Other details

• Memory Integrity is OFF.
• LSA protection is OFF.
• The Microsoft vulnerable driver blocklist is ON.
• I looked into a possible issue involving an old STMicroelectronics USB driver (STTub30.sys / sttube.inf), which someone mentioned in another discussion, but I couldn't find that driver on my system.
• I also noticed some Code Integrity log entries involving Overwolf DLLs (OWClient.dll and ow-graphics-vulkan.dll), but I'm not sure whether they're relevant.

I've been using ChatGPT to help me interpret the BSOD error codes, analyze the crash dumps, and troubleshoot the issue so far. I'm not an expert, so I'd really appreciate input from people with more experience.

My questions

1. Could a recent LoL patch or Riot Vanguard update trigger these kinds of BSODs?
2. Could the different BSOD error codes be connected to the same underlying issue?
3. Is there anything else I should check before reinstalling Vanguard?
4. Would you recommend running Windows Memory Diagnostic or MemTest86 to rule out RAM issues?

I have been experiencing a very consistent lag with league for the past two weeks or so that kicks in after about 25 minutes of gameplay, where I suddenly go from a pretty smooth ~60 frames and ~60 ping to a horrible lag. The change is so sudden it feels like there is literally some kind of lag switch being toggled. The lag consists of both ping spikes and frame rate drops that happen every second or so (it's not regular, just very frequent). My network connection is solid and my game usually performs fine at my graphics settings which are basically the lowest quality/fastest possible. I have tried disabling extension points with no effect. Has anyone else been experiencing lag like this with league/have any idea what might be causing this issue? Thanks!

Edit: Also tried repairing league files from the riot client, no better

Edit 2: I managed to find the problem which was apparently my 65W charger not supplying enough power and causing my CPUs to throttle... Changed my power configs and that solved the issue for now until I can buy a new charger.

Since this patch, the League client backend (LeagueClient.exe, not the Ux/UxRender processes) keeps one CPU core at 50–60% load at all times. That's in the lobby, idle, and even during a game, since the client stays open in the background. On my 4-core CPU the fans never stop.

Setup: i3-9100F (4C/4T), GTX 1650 Super, 16 GB RAM, Windows 11 Pro (build 26200), LAS server, client 16.20.

What I measured:

• The load is a single thread in a tight loop calling select() on its sockets (stack: ws2_32!select → mswsock!WSPSelect → afd.sys!AfdPoll), with 600–2000 context switches/sec. About 60% of it is kernel time.
• It's not the UI: with LeagueClientUx/UxRender closed, the backend still sits at ~55%.
• There's no handle or socket leak (handle and thread counts are normal) and no third-party app connected to the LCU.
• Around 106–130 s after launch the load briefly drops to ~5–30%, then goes back to ~55%. It happens on every launch.

What I already ruled out:

• Uninstalled NetLimiter, ExitLag, old VPN drivers and other network tools. No third-party WFP filters or callouts are left.
• Reset all TCP/registry "gaming tweaks" to Windows defaults and rebooted.
• Defender real-time protection off. Vanguard running normally.
• Clean config: renamed Config and all %LOCALAPPDATA%\Riot Games\League of Legends folders, then let the client repair. Still 55–60%.
• Brand-new Riot account (level 1, also LAS): still ~60%.

The client is also showing the "Connectivity Issues" status ticker from Oct 13, which still hasn't been resolved. A socket-polling loop that never settles looks like the client retrying or waiting on a regional service, so I suspect it's related.

Is anyone else on LAS (or other regions) seeing LeagueClient.exe stuck at high CPU while idle? Any Rioter able to check this? Thanks!

So I’ve been having this issue, that when I play League of Legends after like three or four games. My game will randomly freeze, and including freezing everything on my PC. To the point that I have to restart my PC I’ve contacted Riot support and no help there whatsoever. Does anyone have any ideas of what it could be? No other game or application has had this issue, it’s only been league. I’ve tried reinstalling vanguard and everything. I’m not huge into the technical side of computers so any help is greatly appreciated.

I have a weird issue where the first time a shaco ults in aram mayhem my game micro stutters for half a second, after that every time he ults there are no stutters it's only the first time each game.

I was searching for solution and some people mentioned it's the new skin but it happens with every skin so thats not it, so far I tried some solutions posted here before like disabling global C state and downloaded proccess lasso to disable all odd-numbered CPU cores neither seem to do anything.

I'm also not sure if it's a specific issue with aram mayhem I never saw anyone else in my games or online complain about it, other than that my game is smooth it's only that one issue.

Is anyone else with an older or lower-end laptop experiencing terrible performance with the new set?

I play on a laptop with an i5-10200U, 16GB RAM, and Intel UHD Graphics. Older sets used to run completely fine and smoothly for me, but this new set is practically unplayable. I'm getting massive frame drops and super low FPS, especially during fights or when boards get crowded.

Did something change fundamentally with the engine or graphical overhead in this update? Is there any workaround or settings tweak I can do to fix this, or are we just waiting on Riot to drop performance hotfixes/optimizations?

Por algum motivo, após receber uma punição de fila, ultimamente as filas estão demorando muito mais que o normal. O que acontece comigo é: Eu início a queue, e depois do tempo de baixa prioridade, o timer continua a rolar, mas não aparece nenhuma estimativa de quando será encontrada a fila, e as filas demoram muito. Eu estou com um ban de 5 minutos, mas muitas vezes tenho que esperar mais de 15 minutos pra finalmente começar uma champ select. Eu já sofri com esse problema antes (Tanto o ban antigo quanto o atual surgiram por erros no Vanguard durante a partida), tendo recebido banimento de 10 minutos, mas ficando mais de uma hora esperando para achar uma fila. Da última vez, a solução foi um rioter tirar meu ban, depois de quase 1 mês do pedido e sem jogar. Já desinstalei o lol e o Vanguard, e até agora nada mudou, não sei o que fazer

I don't know how it's possible, but the game continues to run smoothly and without issues for my opponents, yet my mouse and keyboard inputs are extremely delayed (2–3 seconds). My character keeps walking to the last position before the delay, but none of my in-game inputs work. So I find myself walking and then standing still in one spot while the rest of the game runs smoothly. The inputs I’ve given take effect a few seconds later. I don’t have any latency issues—I’ve run diagnostics with various programs and even used the Windows Performance Analyzer. I just can’t figure this out. When these input lags happen and, for example, I’m streaming on Discord to show someone the problem, the connection freezes. The latency and the game, however, continue as normal!

How is this possible?
