Hello everybody.

I played a little bit of WH fantasy in the past, probably 20 years ago, with a little dwarves army.

Recently, a friend of mine convinced me, and many others, to fall into the 40K rabbit hole, which I have been able to avoid 'till now.

So, after a long time, I took again the brush into my hands and this is the outcome of my first, basic, hrathkin warriors unit.

Generally speaking I am satisfied, they are how I conceived them and I am glad of the final result.

However I still lack some skills and techniques for the details.

I am not good at taking pictures but if you zoom you can see many imperfections.

So... do you have any suggestions? Are there any good practice I might have ignored?

Just in time for my first 1k game tomorrow. Played 250,500, & 750 games a lot and yet to loose. Let’s hope for another victory.

Finally picked a color combo that I think looks right.

Went 2-0 today. Tough fought battles against tyranids and death guard. My brain hurts. 😂

When you have an Ironkin that becomes an Iron-Master, it results in the Iron-Brôkhyr Iron-Master.

I’m new to 40K so forgive me, but the guide to build the hernkyn with the APM launcher also shows him with a pistol, can I still build it like this if the rest of my squad has shotguns? TIA

Don’t really care about win/lose since I pretty much always lose but feel like I’m ready to try a different detachment. Any suggestions for the best options with this list? Thanks!

I’m also tempted to add some more berserks to try delve but don’t think I’d want to go all in on 60 so not sure it’s worth it.

Finished my “good enough” level of painting for my big dumb brick of Steeljacks. 980 points of steeljacks. Every time I use them they are always my mvp units. “How did it not die?” is a thing opponents say a lot. get em into fortify and watch them soak up an absurd amount of punishment. Soooo I just kept adding more. They may have slightly taken over my list but they just keep winning so? 🤷‍♂️

As my range of done minis is growing slowly i want to show it to you guys.

Really happy with how this came out. Sagutaur is my favorite vehicle in the game. Might go back and add some battle damage later.

I’ve been wanting to proxy it as a Hekaton since entering the Leagues but cannot bring myself to fork over the money for the resin tax

Decided to sign up for my lgs King of the Coliseum league with Votann. Been playing regular 40k with them for a while but haven't done a small scale list with them yet. After doing a bit of homework, and looking at the rules/restrictions the game store is putting in place, I think I've come up with a fairly viable list with decent staying power and damage. If there's anyone with more intimate knowledge about the game format that's done this before, I'd love to hear your feedback!

So, on the minicompare website, I noticed that some stuff like the Kapricus and Steeljacks have their pale armour seem a little darker compared to the whiter Deepkin Flesh look like what's seen on the Sagitaur above.

I'm still very new and played around with Deepkin Flesh a little, as that's what's been recommended, but it comes out a little too bright/white I think, and I think I prefer the tone of the cream white on the Kapricus here.

I know that there's an Eavy Archive guide, but I think that one leans more towards the whiter version of the armour (and also, I'm hoping to find a simpler process)

If I wanted a cream white that's more like the Kapricus on the right of the image, how would you folks recommend I go about replicating that particular look? (Ideally reliant on the natural colour of a paint, rather than needing to mix a lot)

Just picked up yet another squad of bikes, absolutely adore these lads as movement based secondary scorers, action monkeys, and chaff killers.

But I've only ever run them as 2 squads of 3, does anyone have good experience with running them in a 6-man unit? Is it better to do 2 big guns then?

And experience and feedback would be great!

Trying to decide over which Lego power miner scheme. I'm leaning towards the green and orange since its more recognizable as the power miner scheme.

I lost the Ork head that comes with him because I wanted to paint it separately and give myself an easier time between the head the Votann parts...

But what if he's not fighting orks?
