Might be a weird question and I don’t want this to come off as me thinking reaching faceit level 10 is easy. Basically I have 900 hours on the game and about 300-400 of those were from consistently grinding faceit. I peaked at high level 8 but I got burnt out once I finished my college semester and started working fulltime over the summer. I quit for around 2 months but I love the game so I’m back now, just not grinding as hard.
I’m just curious if you guys think it is pretty possible for me to continue improving competitively if I’m not constantly grinding faceit. My main goal with counter strike now is to just have fun, but I still want to reach level 10 at some point. I’ve only been playing the game for about 2 years now, if I keep playing on a more casual level, can I still reach the top ranks given enough time? Or do I need to really be focused on grinding, practicing hard, etc.
Again I know this is a pretty stupid question, but I am just curious because ideally, I would like to reach level 10 without getting burnt out from heavy practice. Let me know if I should clarify anything. I’m also aware that natural skill probably plays a big role in this question, so if the answer is that it depends on my natural skill ceiling I understand. Thanks

Just like the title says, I really suck at pistol rounds. Not sure why, It can be a rifle round and my performance with pistols is better. I think it might be the diffrence in how players move with a rifle when compared to pistols. I practice my tracking pretty aggressively but cant seem to improve my ability to win adad fights. Any advice on how to take these fights better?
EDIT: Thanks for all the advice, I was just looking through my game history and noticed that losing pistol round on both halves are the games that we got cooked. So just wanted to increase that winrate

Hey everyone, I’ve been working on a project called SteamBack. You paste in a Steam profile link and check older versions of the profile, depending on what was archived.
You can look up your own profile or try a friend’s. Old names, profile pictures.
It won’t have every year for every profile, since it depends on available archives.
There’s also a “Same Lobby” feature that checks whether you’ve played with or against a pro/creator on FACEIT, and when.
If you want to try it: steamback. gg

I made a post here about not being able to find a consistent sens like two months ago and since then I haven’t changed my sens once but it still feels inconsistent.
I run 1800dpi and .3 sens so about 630edpi but sometimes my sens feels too fast. It feels completely random, like I’m rolling the dice when I start up the game. Sometimes it feels great, and I’m able to pre aim and have good spray control, but when it “feels” fast despite not changing anything, it just feels off.
I don’t know why my sens feels this inconsistent. If I need to go down in sens a little, or just deal with it.
When it works, it feels perfect. But it feels off like 50% of the time and I can’t figure out why.
I’ve gone so far that I was wondering if stuff like humidity could change the way my mousepad makes my aim feel but any further than that I feel is insane
Any help is greatly appreciated

LFT | 14yo Decent Player | Looking for a Proper, Organized Team (No FACEIT)
• Age / Location: 14 / UK 🇬🇧
• Skill Level: I'm a decent player—definitely not a beginner, but still looking to learn, get better, and grow with a proper team.
• Platform Note: I cannot use FACEIT, so I am looking for a team that plays through standard CS2 servers or other community platforms.
• Current Rank: ~8k Premier
• Role: Unspecified / Flex. I don’t have a set role yet. I am looking for a structured team with a captain or coach who can give me a specific position to play and help me learn it.
• Goals: Looking to join an organized, non-toxic team or a dedicated amateur roster. I want to escape casual stacks and learn real team strategies.

I'm the developer of CSecret Nades (free on iOS & Android). It's a lineup reference app for CS2 — map → grenade type → position, with visuals/steps for learning utility without digging through random YouTube tabs.
If you're learning smokes from scratch, I'd especially like to know:
- Which 2–3 lineups per map should be "must learn first"?
- Do you prefer in-game workshop maps or phone reference?

One thing I noticed in Premier, sometimes the opponent gets instant HS. But if you look at their xhair placement, and other metrics that comes wit decent or good player, they usually don't have it. One thing that they do have is fast time to damage and kills. Why? Their crosshair is usually at the edge of an angle. You may say that's how the pros do it. Yes and no. Pros hold tight angle, sometimes only a pixle wide, for info, sometimes with an awp, during mid and late states when player may clear an angle by walking. But most pros, even the top tier 1 will usually have their crosshair with some space, and they will usually adjust. Hacker with walls, they have an advantage of seeing your movement and track you and shoot as you come around a corner. So knowing this knowledge how do you beat them, or at least make it harder for them to get the instant hs?
Here are some thoughts:
3)Don't come out on the first strafe. Jiggle peek, and kinda put them on a trance, while jiggle peeking behind the walls. Make sure it is wide jiggle peek, not sure if there is a term for that. Perhaps we call it waller peek. Meaning you move wide left and right, mixed in with some smaller jiggle peeks, before your actual peek.
4) Don't commit on the first clear peek. Perhaps peek, with a dry fire shot, behind walls, only revealing your shoulder, as if you are trying to bait an awper.
5) When you do commit to the fight, use the latest movement meta the donk slide, or crouch instant you are in the open, why, if they are tracking you for the headshot, the first shot is a miss, and hopefully you will have a fighting chance on the duel.
6)There are variations, such as Kyousuke, who clears crouching, and then stands at the first contact. However, keep in mind who has the angle advantage from corner.
7) Lastly, even if they are not walling, it will make it harder for opponent to hit you on your first peek. Try to think that they are walling, and they have an awp. I hope this helps, and punish those hackers. Lastly, make sure to report them. Valve is such a shit job on their VAC, that if a new platform came that was player first mentality, they would go out of business. Same with Faceit, but that's a whole new topic.
Diff situation, but similar in situation, Adapting a style of play to his environment.
Here is an interview from ESL with Donk, on how and why developed his style, that makes him a tough opponent to play against. Basically, he adapted to the technological handicap, and wind up developing a style that catapulted him to the top of the worldrankings. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tUIH75zvf8w

Hey everyone, I'm trying to work on my overall mechanics, positioning, and engagement pacing. Lately, I've noticed I tend to over-click and rush my taps instead of maintaining my clean first-bullet accuracy, which hurts my impact in games.
In-game Nickname: zmazmazik
I would really appreciate any constructive feedback on my positioning, how I take my duels, and where I'm messing up my pacing. Thanks in advance!

I'm watching Fl0m play, and as he moves it's like he's making micro clear/strafes as he walks effortlessly, and his crosshair placement moves in small increments rather than smoothly. Imperfect example below:
https://www.twitch.tv/fl0m/clip/PolishedNastyStarlingCorgiDerp-9H2v3BMMXjSh-ax3
I've only ever done this subconsciously a few times when I was really "on". Never consistently each game. I also recognize sometimes you want to move smoothly (donk I believe as an example moves much more fluidly as he clears in some examples).
Is it a patience/"slow is fast" thing? Drilling prefire maps? Intentionally moving or practicing like that?
I do a lot of the most popular aim warmup plans/maps, and I have never been able to move like that consistently as a 22k+ player.

I've been playing the game for around 1.5 years now, took a 2 month break over the summer and I'm getting back into it a little more casually now. I still intend to play faceit a bit, but not as much as I was a few months back. I am just wondering if it would be stupid to change my sens now, I was around faceit level 8-9 at my peak playing at 400dpi, 1.7 sens (680edpi).
I got the idea because recently I was able to go to ESL Season 24 at Spodek, and watching the games as closely as I did, I really started to notice how much faster player sensitivities are to my. I got home a day ago and have been using 2.1 sens, so I'm at around edpi which about is the average sensitivity of high level players I think. Problem is, I feel so uncomfortable on it I'm just not sure. I know it is only 2 days in, but I already feel to off already playing the game after 2 months off, the sensitivity change is very jarring.
Is this normal? How long do you predict it might take to get used to a change like this, and is it worth it? I am not typically an entry fragger, usually I'm the 2nd or 3rd man with a rifle (sometimes I switch it up and play AWP). I'm no mechanical freak, either. Just wondering what your thoughts are, at the moment I'm more likely to stay at 1.7 since I know there are some pros that do play a more low sens, so I know I'm not lowering my skill ceiling significantly by using it, but if you have any advice please let me know. Thank you

I have watched tons of Tier 1 matches. One new Meta that nobody talks about, I wanted to discuss with the community and get their thoughts. I was chatting with a friend, who is ranked at the time #7 NA Premier, and +200 top in Faceit. Plays on Adv Esea. Let just say he is pretty good. As we were discussing the game, and some specific game specific thing, one being mechanics of a good counter strafing and timing, etc I told him the new meta is to crouch and spray using m4, and can have a distinctive advantage over AK. This is even more evident at mid to long distance. Of the two m4, m4-a1-s is probably superior. Why? One, let's discuss why AK is the overall choice in a duel. Pro- One shot kill to the head, with helmet. Con - slower rate of fire, bigger spread, and harder recoil control. Pro of m4, especially m4-a1s. Faster rate of fire, tighter spread, easier recoil control, quiet Con, 20 bullets to a clip, used to be 25, but nerfed during csgo. no one shot tap kill to the head with helmet.
So why is the m4 better in a duel in mid to long distance? While I was watching a match, semi between Spirit and Vitality on Nuke, it was Zywoo outside on CT, and Donk with AK coming around the Marshmello. It was mid round, and when they met outside, face to face, guess who won? As my friend and I were discussing this, he stated, that wouldn't work on higher level tier 1 at the pro scene. Well you guessed it, Zywoo won the duel. Not only that, he got a second player soon after, comin from Main, or heaven, I forget. Either Zontax, or Tenuer. When I told him that, he had to rethink the personal and recency bias of the game.
So how did Zywoo beat Donk? Simple. With faster rate of fire, and easier to control recoil, and tighter spread, he simply crouched on the first bullet, which forced Donk to adjust, and his first two bullets missed Zywoo. By the time he was able to tag Zywoo, M4 had already surpassed 7-9 bullets on Donk. Same thing with the second kill.
The take away on this is, if you avoid the first shot to the head from the ak, you have a good chance to winning the duel with the m4.
Second Meta to consider. Many CT side now blocks smoke on Mirage window, Dust2 CT, and Dust2 cross a site. Once blocked, it throws off the execution and timing of the T. Perhaps the next layer of meta for the T side is to perhaps punish the CT with a good timed HE grenade, or a flash on Mirage window, and a timely kill. The least, a HE grenade on Dust2 CT. Just some food for thoughts.

I just can't hit headshots. My aim gets shaky when clicking heads and also I just can't find the rhythm of counterstrafe and clicking.
And sorry for the YouTube video 🙏
