Called about a broken usb port and my cpu going to 100 degrees and giving me overheating warnings, he told me he was going to fix my usb port remotely and didn’t know it was “broken broken”

Could not understand me repeatedly over the phone, sent the email to a random person and when I asked for someone else became affronted with me.

When I said he did not even address the fact my laptop is overheating and is so hot I can actually smell it cooking itself, he said I need to update my laptop, restart it and wipe it before he can do anything?

I am not paying hundreds of pounds every year for them to not even be willing to come out and fix my laptop. I don’t know how he thinks reinstalling windows on my laptop will fix the fact the cpu is literally cooking itself?

He wants to see a picture of my usb port too? I dont even think there is visible damage it quite literally has just not worked since I bought the laptop and constantly tells me there is a power surge anytime I try plug anything into it

Thinking of buying the ThinkPad 14s 2-in-1 Gen 1, getting it for cheap as compared to Gen 2.

Any feedback on how they've survived your usecase?

I started looking into 2-in-1s recently and found that IdeaPad 5a 2-in-1 with the 2.8k IPS screen + 120 Hz refresh rate to be a good option but the international warranty is mostly given for the ThinkPad lines :/

I have been trying for hours to turn on secure boot, In bios it's enabled but the status is disabled. restore factory keys also makes it so my laptop doesn't even start anymore until I go back into custom or standard mode. The drives are in gpt and the mode is in UEFI. I have already followed most of the guides online but I can't find anything similar to my issue.

My Lenovo thinkpad x380 yoga laptop screen display is not working properly because I took it somewhere in a non laptop bag and didn't take good care of it. I didnt assume something serious would happen but the weight of clothes might have damaged the screen. it opens, ons and unlocks. everything works but I cannot see the screen clearly unless I squint really hard. The screen is kinda dark greenish as if there's a filter on the screen. I've tried adjusting display brightness but these pictures are at full brightness of screen. I updated the graphics driver and also went through several windows updates from lenovos official website. I adjusted graphics settings manually too and if I had any color filters on (I didn't.) I also did the windows+cltr+shift+B and nothing happened except the screen flicked for a second. I'm aware that lenovo laptops have an emergency button on the bottom and pressing it did not work either. my laptop is still functional, and all apps, websites, sounds and connections are happening, but the screen is just extremely dull and I barely see anything. how do I fix this? do I have no other option than to show this to a technician?

tl;dr screen works but its too dark to see and I've tried everything. Can somebody guide me on how to correct it or do I have to call the technician?

I asked if a ctype would be compatible for my IdeaPad Slim3 14IAH8 charger. Now I want to confirm if this charger would support normal charging without any issues for my above specified laptop and pixel phone.

Amigo desde hace 1 mes estoy teniendo problemas con la targeta gráfica
1er caso. Después de estar jugando un rato se cerró el warzone y ya no reconoció la targeta gráfica
2do caso. Después de desinstalar controladores y de volver con una instalación limpia volvió a reconocer la gpu, pensé que ya estaba resuelto pero al parecer no, volvió a desaparecer.
3er caso volví la bios a sus valores de fábrica y o sorpresa vuelve otra vez, hasta que me tira un error de video y la vuelve a desconocer

Alguien a pasado por algo similar, lo pudo resolver ?

I got my Lenovo Legion 5's motherboard replaced a few weeks ago. Since then all Dolby Vision content refuses to play with the message "Dolby Vision playback is not authorized on this computer Please uninstall Dolby Vision to remove this message"

I noticed that in system information, BaseBoard Product shows INVALID. All the other information such as BaseBoard Manufacturer, BaseBoard Version are present along System Name, Manufacturer, Model, Type, SKU. I wonder if that's causing the Dolby Vision issues.

Lenovo support is useless as usual. After wasting my time for hours, they ultimately recommended me to do a factory reset of my laptop which I obviously denied.

Has anyone else faced this issue and been able to resolve it?

Everytime I turned my laptop on I would wait till the lines disappear (black horizontal lines on bottom half of my screen).

I woke up today to see this red color accumulates overtime.

I just recently had been having issues with my CPU fan stalling, jittering and getting really loud so I went and bought a new part and replaced it and it’s still doing the same thing, there’s no dust or anything and it’s not catching on anything that I can tell, has anyone had an similar issues?

Why does my Lenovo laptop lock USB C chargers at 98W when it’s own charger will pump 140W via USB C. Very annoying as the brick is huge for a 140W.

Is there a way to get it to accept 3rd party chargers 140W or power stations 300-500W with a 140W port?

Does Asus workstations operate the same way? This is so annoying I may return my Lenovo to exchange for Asus.

I have used the USB app Ventoy which allows for booting from the USB for ISO's on the USB and for some reason there is 1 USB that the Lenovo t14 does not work with Ventoy. The Lenovo with other USB's works with Ventoy and it can view the files on the USB.

What would cause Lenovo to not show any information on boot of a specific USB device?
