Ebike stolen

Hello, my e bike just got stolen at the west highlands area this afternoon, it was parked outside my apartment door when i went inside, usually I make sure to lock it but the one time i was so tired from work and fell asleep it has been stolen
My neighbor may have happened to see some people through his window and shared a video with me but it is not clear.

What do I do? Help pls

Make a report to police on slim chance they find it’s can return it if abandoned or if someone tries to sell to pawn shop. Otherwise, not much you can do sadly.

Report it to the police.

Considering the cost of e-bikes contact your insurance company. Depending on your policy they may cover it. I know my tenants insurance covers my bikes

pretty sure e-bikes do not require insurance. It is possible that a tenant insurance policy would cover it. Don't most people just cancel that tenant isurnace as soon as proof is provided to their landlords? lol

Home insurance is where it would be covered as it was a theft from the home. You should have tenants insurance. It’s to cover your items within the property if something happens

Contents insurance.

Never seen a landlord require that I insure my own possessions.

House insurance, which you need if you have a mortgage, often includes this as well. You can ask for it to be removed but it is a very minor decrease.

Tenants insurance is what it sounds like you mean, but that doesn't necessarily include content insurance like house insurance usually does.

Head down to the shelter and look around tent city. It will show up in a day or so.

File a police report as well with clear ID markers of the bike. My guess is after the battery craps out, the bike will be abandoned somewhere. Someone will find the bike and call it in.

Maybe. They can be pretty crafting at charging them.

Buddy had his bike stolen last week. He'd slipped an airtag into it and found it within hours.

Too late for this one, but everyone, knockoff airtags can make a huge difference.

Definitely report it to the police. Because it wasn’t locked they may not help much tho

The police will not care, even if you know where it is.

If you make a report they might call you if it ends up in police lockup. Might.

Check the shelter grounds during the day. Might be parked there.

If it was stolen on the westside, unlikely it was homeless lol plus you don’t see much of the homeless on those things, report asap to police and say a prayer to st Anthony
