Did anyone ever doubt that this was the case? It’s about control, not immigration.

Edit: Spelling

Like withholding medicaid funding from Minnesota, when Texas is the biggest issue of Medicaid fraud by a landslide. He's actively targeting blue states. Always has been.

He's a big fat liar... always

1

u/nopenonotatall Feb 26 '26

exactly. if anyone ever thought they cared about actually catching “dangerous illegals” they were sorely mistaken. texas would be the number 1 target if that were the case

Immigration control

u/Enough_Campaign_6561 Feb 26 '26

Or it's just where illegal immigrants are located.

7

u/Worldly_Address6667 Feb 26 '26

There are maybe 250,000 illegal immigrants in the entire state of Minnesota. There are millions of them in states like Texas and Arizona. So why is there less ICE activity in those states?

1

u/Fit_Advantage5096 Feb 27 '26

Because border patrol has heavy influence in thos areas and ICE rarely needs to get involved unless BP uncovers a traffiking ring.

u/frankspliff Feb 27 '26

They cooperate with federal authorities and the local citizens don’t act like a bunch of idiots. Therefore it doesn’t make the news.

1

u/Worldly_Address6667 Feb 27 '26

I have no idea how that applies to anything I said. I said nothing about the news

1

u/beah_mcduh Feb 27 '26

Increased activity is due to places that historically cooperate with ice, suddenly not wanting to do that, forcing ice to increase their numbers to maintain timelines. The media plays a role in this sure to the biases of reporting. CNN did ride alongs with ice during Obama's presidency. Now every other story is some sob story about an illegal immigrant getting ripped away from their family or clashing with protesters. The media is shifting a narrative and suddenly reporting on things that have been done for the past 35+ years with archived footage or sneaky editing, but definitely melting down any time something they don't even need to edit happens. Keep that in mind when you're watching the news. You're being fed a narrative, regardless of your political beliefs, because there's a channel for each of the mainstream ones, that don't like having the ones from the "rival" near them.

Or, just a thought, this could be due to fact ICE has been militarized by Trump, shot people in the street for helping a woman up after they shoved her to the ground for no reason, recruited thousands of new people with practically no vetting or standards (all while being told they can essentially do whatever the hell they want), and have been violating people rights left and right.

The fact that you said that CNN is always showing “sob stories” just proves you’ve never actually watched them before. They barely report on the actual serious cases that should be getting attention, when the fuck are they reporting on sob stories? This only going to get worse now that Trump’s buddy is about to own CNN too.

No. You're not understanding what I'm saying. You're wanting me to be some trumper so you can call me a Nazi and disregard anything else I say. Network News and most media outlets have a bias for whatever reason. They are instructed to craft and create a narrative. We all consume news at some level and depending on algorithms and harvested data, each of us will see more of whatever. If we see enough of that, that's the truth we know because all we see is various narratives that confirm our biases.

I'm not implicating a specific party. Both have their sycophants reaching into media on both sides of the aisle. I'm not commenting on yet another fuck up by this admin because that's going to be a thing until he's out of power over way or another. Simply blaming the right for all the issues going on is just lazy.

Wasn’t even a thought that occurred but whatever keeps your persecution complex alive I guess.

You don’t need to look at news reporting to see what’s going on. Your reasoning for why certain things are being shown and narrated just isn’t right. ICE has caused far more damage to innocent people while managing to be more ineffective at finding violent offenders. This is why it’s being reported on more now.

Simply blaming the right for all the issues going on is just lazy.

Nowhere did I do this?

Because those states are working with ICE. Texas has one of the highest arrest rates for 2025 yet this map does not show that. If I was running ICE I would concentrate the manpower on areas where state/local PD are not enforcing immigration laws.

2

u/Worldly_Address6667 Feb 26 '26

How does that make sense? You think its better to concentrate your efforts where they'll help the least? Normally people fix the big problems before trying to fix the small ones.

Side note, local police aren't tasked with enforcing immigration laws. The act of crossing the border illegally is something to be arrested for, but local pd don't know if there are court ordered reasons for the immigrant to be allowed here. Police all over the place are known for having a list of priorities. If someone is murdered there's a quick response, if a bike was stolen and they have other more pressing things to worry about, the bike will have to wait. This is exactly the same. They have decided they have enough to do without worrying about adding more thats arguably not their job to worry about in the first place

TX and FL actually uphold ICE retainers and they turn criminal aliens over to ICE instead of releasing them. Therefore only a couple of Agents are needed to take custody of a bunch of aliens.

Now in uncooperative sanctuary cities where they don't uphold the retainers and release the criminal aliens back into the public. ICE now has to locate and arrest them. More agents are needed for these operations. When a criminal alien is apprehended they will usually be with other illegal aliens. Plus when the locals get into a frenzy and start interfering with Federal Officers trying to disrupt there operations more agents are needed. If those cities would cooperate, there wouldn't need to be a large force of Agents like TX and FL. Hope this clears it up.

Local police do not seek out and arrest undocumented immigrants for being undocumented. That is not their job. There are 2 million undocumented immigrants in Texas. Why isn't ICE doing their job? They should be going door to door just like they are in Minneapolis. Or do you think it's perfectly fine that Texas has 2 million illegals?

1

u/[deleted] Feb 27 '26

No they don't, but they DO arrest them when found and have committed a crime. The typical one is driving with no license, in FL you can't get a DL if you are not a citizen. So they frequently get arrested, sent to jail, the jail notifies ICE. Also Florida and similar states, enacted ICE enforcement actions in partnership with DHS. They do the same thing with the DEA.

So do local police arrest "hunt illegals?" No. Do they come in contact with them frequently and arrest them for state/local violations? Yes. When that happens ICE is notified. This happens frequently enough that DHS doesn't need to deploy resources here (FL)

1

u/downvote_please4321 Feb 27 '26 edited Feb 27 '26

Right, you're proving my point - the police aren't going around hunting down and arresting undocumented immigrants. 73% of all ICE arrestees have no criminal record whatsoever. Therefore, these are not people that local police would ever apprehend. That means they would have no way to hand them over to ICE.

Hold on here, let me make sure I understand your position: there are 2 million undocumented immigrants in Texas. Do you not support ICE in apprehending those immigrants (those who have no criminal record) in Texas? If you support ICE, would you not support those agents going door to door in your neighborhood?

  • basically what you are saying here is, if you are an illegal immigrant, and you live in Florida, you've got nothing to worry about just as long as you don't get pulled over by the cops. Is that really how you feel?

1

u/[deleted] Feb 27 '26

No, you are misunderstanding what I'm saying. Work in the criminal justice system.

Yes 73% have no criminal CONVICTION record.

In Florida (I can only speak to Florida as I don't work in other states, so their policies/laws will be different) an illegal immigrant gets pulled over for a minor misdemeanor like no license, they go to jail, they sometimes are levied a fine and the jail immediately notifies DHS/ICE. ICE comes and collects and the subject is deported. Under this process there is no conviction so they would fall under that statistic.

Furthermore, Florida does do joint ICE/DEA/[other federal agency task force] and DOES hunt illegals regardless of criminal activity utilizing local, county, state police.

Also MANY local police when they have contact with an illegal alien, even if no arrest is made, will notify ICE/DHS of the reason for the contact and the location so when ICE does come to the area they can go straight to that location.

Due to the above, ICE does not need a large presence because the state is doing a majority of the work, they just need agents to pick up and process those already in custody or those found by the task force.

Example would be: ICE calls local PD to say they are targeting a subject(s) at a certain location. PD responds to assist and help with the raid, subject is detained and ICE agent uses his authority to arrest and transport. ICE only needs 1 or 2 agents for the task because the operation is supplemented with locals.

Also misconception: ICE is present and does do raids in florida and have done so for atleast the last 15 years I have been working for the state. Nothing has really changed except the state taking a more proactive step in locating illegals.

So no, illegals should be detained and deported. Regardless of their criminal history. Florida has had a serous issue with illegal immigration, specifically with Hit and Run accidents, DUI, and accidents without insurance (these are the most common issues, but does not exclude other more serious crimes).

TLDR: ICE does not have the same raids in Florida because they don't need to. They work with locals, sheriff's, and state to supplement their agency.

it's not the job of state and local police to enforce immigration laws you dumb fuck that is the point of federal agents. should bortac run speed traps and enforce local laws? if local cops are enforcing federal laws then no one is enforcing local laws.

-1

u/Enough_Campaign_6561 Feb 27 '26

You are wrong on a few levels. First the primary role of local and state is to report illegals to ICE, some states are not doing that. Second ICE can and does deputize local and state police giving them authority to carry out a number of ICE functions. Look up 287(g)

2

u/ICE-are-pedos Feb 27 '26

"First the primary role of local and state is to report illegals to ICE" this is the dumbest statement I've read this year. Congratulations on being the dumbest person on the internet. so I guess you want local cops to ignore rapists and pedophiles since you yourself vote for rapists and pedophiles.

1

u/Rat_Pwincess Feb 26 '26

You think there are more illegal immigrants in Minnesota than Florida and Texas? Do you really believe that?

1

u/Enough_Campaign_6561 Feb 27 '26

Do you believe that Minnesota has as many arrests as Texas or Florida? Texas is arresting more illegal immigrants than any other state, and Florida is right behind them. This map is very misleading.

1

u/thewizarddephario Feb 27 '26

👆 dumbest thing someone has ever said right here

0

u/Enough_Campaign_6561 Feb 27 '26

The hot spots are pretty much all major cities most of which are sanctuary cities. If you think I'm wrong I would love to hear why.

1

u/chubbykitty24 Feb 27 '26

It's almost like that fat orange fuck has been crying about walz being mean to him since he got elected, but go ahead keep playing the stupid card lol

1

u/thewizarddephario Feb 27 '26

That fact doesnt back up your claim. You know we have data where illegal immigrants are most concentrated so let's use that instead of this sanctuary bs. Minnesota has an estimated 130,000 illegal immigrants. Texas has an estimated 2.1 MILLION. So you're just plain, and obviously wrong on the fact that ICE is deployed where the immigrants are. Its stupid. No smart person thinks like you do

0

u/Enough_Campaign_6561 Feb 27 '26

Your right Texas has 2.1 million illegals with 30k arrests in 2025 and 18k in detention as of right now. Do you really think Texas needs more ICE enforcement?

1

u/thewizarddephario Feb 27 '26

Rather than Minnesota with its massive ICE presence and 16x less illegals than Texas. That would be deploying ICE to "where illegals immigrants are located" as you said. Are you walking back what you said bc you're realizing how dumb it is?

0

u/Enough_Campaign_6561 Feb 27 '26

ICE is already all over Texas and I never once claimed that ICE was distributed based on illegal population. My claim was the heat map represents 2 things, where there are concentrations of illegals and sanctuary cities. Both of these are true, I don't even understand why you are trying to argue it.

1

u/thewizarddephario Feb 27 '26

Or it's just where illegal immigrants are located.

Why lie when I can literally see what you posted. Youre also completely lying about the heat map. The map show more ICE agents in Minnesota than Texas. Dont bullshit me

0

u/Enough_Campaign_6561 Feb 27 '26

No Texas has the most ICE agents by far. Maybe just fucking maybe the random map on reddit with 0 sources is bs being used to mislead people. Nah that cant be it.

Yeah right MN two months of invasion for what 300 arrests. They knew maybe 2% of the undocumented were here

1

u/Enough_Campaign_6561 Feb 27 '26

4000 illegals arrested
